Rubber Duckie Card.

This card measures 5ins x 5ins and is made using a hand cut blank using a navy blue gingham card.
Rubber Duckie CardI’m not sure if this card is suffering from a mat and layering overload!!!??
The ducks came from my visit to Michael’s in Las Vegas, they are sooooo cute, but I am not sure that this card has done their cuteness justice.
Picture26However, as there are nine ducks in the pack at least I can have a couple more tries to see if I can get the balance right!
Rubber Duckie Card 1
Having said that though, I think it’s a card that I could possibly use for the birth of a baby boy, with the addition of a sentiment somewhere ….  possibly on the “water”…..??

Rubber Duckie Card

This card measures 5ins x 5ins and is made using a hand cut card blank using a white linen effect card.
Rubber Duckie Card 3I found these self adhesive, flock duck embellishments from in Michael’s in Las Vegas……. and just couldn't resist them

Baby cards immediately came to mind, but I am also thinking perhaps a leaving cards .... or just a plain "You're quackers!" ?

New Baby Card

This card measures 5ins by 5ins and is made using a white linen effect card.
Not a lot to this card, but I was very apprehensive when I started it, as it was the first card I have agreed to make for anyone in over a year.
Just Arrived. New baby cardThe background paper is actually gift wrap, but as it was  a good quality one it stood the rigours of being mat and layered and the edged with faux stitching.
The embellishment is a Russ keepsake badge, one of a few I found in Home Bargains a couple of years ago ….. for just 25p each (I think they cost about £1.99 now!), so there is the option to remove it if the recipient wants to, because it is only attached it with an adhesive foam pad.
New Baby card. just arrivedThe sentiment is handwritten in my fair hand, again mat and layered on silver mirror card and finally a few matching blue punched hearts fill the empty spaces to bring the card together.
I always look out for bargain badges in my bargain shops, the one I have used here is excellent quality, they are something a bit different on a “lazy” made card but nonetheless are effective.

Baby Girl Card

This card measures 18.5cms x 9.5cms and is made with a white linen effect card blank.
Baby Girl Card WholePortThe light in my craft room is shocking at the moment, I have just a bare bulb while I am waiting for it all to be redecorated, and taking pictures in the evening is nigh on impossible, so please bare with me.
WholePort Teddy BeadAs soon as I saw these wooden baby bear beads from WholePort  I immediately thought “…. washing line and a quick bit of doodling”,  but, I also couldn’t resist adding a pair of wibbly wobbly eyes as well!!
Flowery DoodleThere was not a lot to putting this card together at all, the bit that took the most fiddle farting was spacing the self adhesive letters out to fit the card blank,  but once that was done, the rest fell into place.

Baby Girl Cards

Two 5ins x 5ins cards today using Impex Crafts wooden embellishments.  I have so many embellishments some bought on  a whim because they were a bargain  …. so I have put one drawer from my cupboard by my craft desk and I really, really am trying to work my way through it …..
Baby Girl card and Tag

When I looked at the set of embellishments I realised that only the baby and booties could carry a card on their own ……
Impex Crafts Wooden Embellishments
….. so I made tags with the bib and the heart and put them as a bonus in with the cards in their display bags.
Baby Booties Card
I now just have to work out what to do with the bottle!!

New Baby Card With Knitting

This card measures 5ins x 5ins and is made with a hand cut blank using white linen effect card.
Baby Boy knitting Card
For me there is possibly too much going on here, but I think it will pass muster.
Knitting baby Card
It’s just that I have had these knitted embellishments forever and it was about time that I tried to use just one of them, but alone, on a card, it looked a little too empty and so I started to pile on the bits of fiddle fart!!

Baby Bump Mini Hanger

This mini hanger measures 3.5cms x 7.5cm and is made using an child’s wooden domino as the base.
Beware of the Bump tag
Work has been awash with pregnant ladies of late … which gave me the idea for this little hanger.  I’ve made it in the same as I make my tags but have drilled two holes along the top to thread a ribbon through to hang it by. This first attempt has now given me a lot of other ideas/themes for hangers so watch this space …….

Cute As A Button

This card measures 10.5 cm x 10.5 cm and is made using white linen effect card.
Cute As A Button Card
This is card looks deceptively easy, but getting the writing centred above and below the button was a nightmare, I must have done it at least seven times!

Baby’s First Christmas Card

I made a very similar card to this a couple of Christmas’s ago, but when an idea turns out so well, it’s always worth trying it again using slightly different colours/papers etc.
Picture 962
The papers are from a download called Little Joys by Zoe Pearn. I’ve certainly had my moneys worth, as I have used papers and elements from the set over and over again - but sadly no longer available. It’s the simplicity and cuteness of the snowman that I love.
Picture 964
I’ve added a simple decoupage layer for the snowmen’s scarves, small black Glitterati stickers for their eyes and mouth, and a bit of Anita’s 3D clear gloss finish (about £2.99) to add dimension to the buttons and noses.  The self adhesive letters are Forever Friends “Cosy Christmas” alphabet stock (FFS 803100) bought in a sale a while back.
Picture 968
As this was a special card, I have also decorated the front and inside of the envelope too.

New Arrival Card

Star is Born Card
I don’t seem to have made a baby card in ages.  I was a bit stuck for ideas at first, as all the baby embellishments I had were pink.  In the end I plumped to use my newspaper template.
Picture 043
The baby was a free clipart image, that I have made several simple decoupage layers with, adding a pair of googly eyes and Anita’s 3D clear gloss finish on his vest for extra dimension.

Nappy Days – Baby Card

Nappy days
These safety pin buttons are leftovers from a bumper pack I got going back to the days of Alan and Barry on Create and Craft.
All I have done is add a small clear flat back gem to each pin and a handwritten sentiment.

Red Gingham Mini Baby Book

Cover of Mini Baby Book
Well, I have finished Ettie’s book and popped it in a box to match.
Box for Mini Baby Book
She really is a gorgeous baby!
Gingham Mini baby Book
Gingham Mini Baby Book 2
I have steered away from traditional pinks and baby things because Mel, her mum is very modern, and I know part of the nursery decor is red gingham. With that in mind, I chose gingham papers, flowers and butterflies  with the intention, hopefully, of giving it a timeless feel.

All the embellishments are made using punches.

I think it took me about 5 hours in all to complete!

What’s On My Desk Wednesday

Gingham Mini Baby Book
What, no shopping on my desk? This week  I have had to have a big restock on the basics; a mega box of linen card from The Papermill Shop and envelopes from E-bay – not very exciting …..
So, on my desk today is a baby book for a really lovely friend who has just had the most adorable baby. It seems ages since I have made a minibook . Hopefully I will finish it today or tomorrow so I can show you each page properly later on in the week.
Mini baby Book
Oh …. those aren’t spots on the baby’s face in the top photo, they are tiny nail art gems that I have put where I can see them!

Nancy’s Bunny - New Baby Card

Nancy's Bunny
This is a card I made for my sister-in-laws neighbours new baby. I think Nancy is such a lovely name.
Bunny Close UP
The rabbit is a Quickutz download, cut on my Silhouette.
Bunny face
I added the ears and heart using DCWV baby papers, the check background paper is baby gift wrap and the nose is a left over heart from an Accessorize sticker pack.
Nancy tag
The tag was made using a Woodware tag punch and the writing and faux stitching is by my own fair hand.

Baby Tags

 Picture 026
I love the idea of babies in pea pods!
These tags were made using the large Sizzix pea pod die. It does come with a babies head, but it seemed too small and out of proportion, so I have used another larger Sizzix head die instead and cut the body and hands out myself.
The writing is my own and the embellishments are from Assessorize.  The background papers are from a baby scrapbook kit from The Works.
