Papericious Whimsical pack tutorial- Spring Printers' tray

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit  from Irit Shalom designs is here today and I am going to share my easy tutorial made with the most gorgeous, just released Whimsical collection.
This time I made a big wooden altered printers' tray (old piece from 7 Gypsies, but you can find the cheap version in any craft shop).

This tray contains 12 ATC size pieces and I decided to use three photos and to make all other 9 pieces as embellished cards and then to embellish  over the tray for more interest.
The tray was already painted in dirty white color and I didn't change it.
First I am going to show you the whole altered project and then  I made the step by step tutorial for you to use.

The side view of the tray shows the layers and the over the tray embellishments.

Some corners were embellished with new Papericious fabric flowers and new Papericious chipboards.

This is a view of another over the tray embellishments cluster:

Holidays tag with Die Versions

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new Die Versions post.
I know that it's just August. But when you make project form print you mostly craft Christmas in March. And so it was with a few of my projects that I am going to share in a couple of next months.
I still don't know if this fancy tag was print published as I didn't get the issue, but the issue is already in shops, so I can share it and you can try to make a similar  gift tags in advance.
The tag was made with Canvas Corp 7 Gypsies paper and a lot, and I mean ALOT, of Die versions die cuts.
I used two sets of nested dies here:
Nested Stitched circles and Nested Stitched Combo.
The circles were arranged on the top of the tag and the sentiment was layered over rounded squares die cuts.
Usually the basic dies are for matting. I use them as the main embellishments over some of my projects and I am totally in love with this nested stitched line. I still need to buy some more that I don't own yet!

And those are dies used to make this tag:

Go after your dreams art page tutorial

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new ART PAGE tutorial made with ARTplorations most gorgeous stencils.
This time I made the page with stencils only, just as a proof that art can be made without any stamps. So let me show you the process:
1. Take some paper strips and glue them over the thick Mixed Media cardstock with decoupage glue. I used DecoArt's one, but any  decoupage glue works just perfect. Let the glue dry unless   you want the color mess later. The paper used is from 7 Gypsies, but it's just for the texture, so any paper strips will work.

2. Cover the strips with a light layer of gesso. Yes, first we glued the paper and then we covered it as this is just for the layers and the texture.
Again, let it dry!

3. Use Gridlocked stencil  and add it around the page with crackle  texture paste. I wanted to try this new for me medium and I really like the results.
And... You know, let it dry if you want the crackles to be seen.

4. Now it's a paint magic time. Cover the page with a mix of yellow and brown paints to get this colors mixed for the urban look.
Make some texture with your pallet knife in the middle.

5. Use Confetti Circles stencil and white acrylic to make some " roads" over the page. When the white paint is dry (pretty soon) add black paint as shown inside the stencilled image.

6. Add more colors: greens, some blues, some splashes. Play with paint.
Die cut the city scape die (MFT) and glue it over the page.
Now make the last stencilled image using Fearless stencil with texture paste and this is your art page title.
I made a lot of urban roads here- going in circles. You should let your dreams to take you wherever you want to go. Just follow your dreams!

Just because tag with Die Versions

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new Die Versions post.
This fancy tag was made with Canvas Corps paper products and with two, oldies, but goodies, Die Versions dies.
The Retro Dancers were just perfect to be stamped with white ink over the black die cut. The Musical  Waterfall was die cut and then cut into two pieces to fit the overall layout of the tag.
Music and dancing are just perfect to fit the sayings over the tag: Enjoy this day, it's good to be awesome and Start today with grateful.

I hope I have inspired you to create something fun today!  Please be sure to check back to the DV Blog often for more great ideas on how to use your dies!  And please share with us what you make on the DV Facebook Page.

Travel forever tag

 Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here and I want to welcome you  to my February  Tando Anything goes week.
All of us here on DT have lots of previous leftover pieces of chipboards. The right thing is to use them (unless we  want to loose them). So this fancy travel tag is a good sample of " use your stash".
The tag was made with the  pretty new travel collection from 7 Gypsies, but those 2 Tando chpboards are from maybe my first DT box. (I must say that I  asked for more and more of those as I travel a lot and craft a lot about it). Both Compass and Arrow were covered with a thick layer of white embossing powder and then misted with red and light yellow mists.
I am still in love with those chipboard pieces and yes, I still have a couple of them left for another travel project.

Happy Holidays gift holder- TPD

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new Two Paper Divas post.
This time I made a fancy gift card holder using Canvas Corps file folder  and patterned paper from 7 Gypsies and added stamped with heat embossing, hand cut truffles using the new TPD Truffle treats set.
Each truffle was stamped with red/ pink inks and heat embossed with clear embossing powder over. Then I added some pearl 3d paint over the hand cut piece.
I added JUST FOR YOU stamped TPD sentiment from the very same Truffle Treats set over the GC holder corner and stamped Happy Holidays sentiment over the file tab on the top.
The edges of the file folder are glued, so you can actually put the gift card inside. I also added some wooden pins to close the top of the folder to keep the GC inside.

Explore your journey with DV and CC: recycled art journal

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my " take an ugly notebook and make it pretty journal"  post.
This time I took this Oral B notebook (that's what you get for being a dentist) and totally recycled it to a pretty travel journal.
This is how it looked before.

First I painted it with Tattered Angels Decor and DIY Jade color paint. This is a perfect paint to cover this paper cover with just one single layer and no primer at all!

Then I gathered and trimmed some lovely papers to make the colorful red/Kraft/beige cover piece.
I used Cherry Lynn Designs card makers dies to make 2 dotted red pieces, one Kraft script piece and one Vintage America map piece.
Then a smaller pieces from Vintage America 8*8'' pad were cut  and punched with Binding edge punch. I cut one single Post card from the same set and a few USA images from Ephemera set and paper cuts.

The trimmed papers were arranged to a " like layered card" piece.

Now it is a FUN time! Stamping it is!
I used this adorable 7 Gypsies stamp set that was just a perfect fit for the theme.
Most of stamping was made over the Post Card piece and I stamped the Hot air balloon over the patterned paper and hand cut it to glue over the piece.

 And now the finished project:
I just added a piece of natural twine under and over the arranged cover piece and glued it over the painted cover.
I added a die cut Vintage Bike (double cut from cardstock) and those USA 2015 title on the corner.
More red twine and colorful staples and this cover is all done.
It's pretty flat after all as it's not for a display, but for a real use. So I decided that those layers are  all I need to finish this travel journal.

Page intro:
Making toddler's pages with " adult" products can be a great challenge. Masking it with 10 things list could be even bigger challenge. So I was challenged twice and I think the final result is pretty good. I used Canvas Corp products  that by chance were a good fit to my darling 4 years old grandson's photo and stayed with this blue- Kraft- red , black and white colors and boy embellishments and I made a great list with ten things I love about this age of innocence. You are invited to read it and I think it's universal! All four years old are good and believe in fairy tales. I just want them to stay that way forever!
