Live, Love , Enjoy - ARTplorations tutorial

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new Mixed Media tutorial made for ARTplorations company.
Actually this is my last tutorial post for them as after a full year  with this great stencil/stamp company it's a time to move to another possible adventures . But as you know when I love products I use them. So most possible that you will see a lot of new projects made with this company's delicious products.
And now for my tutorial:

1.Use DecoArt Modeling paste over a chipboard door hanger (was covered with white gesso before this step). Use Merry go round  ARTploration's stencil and let it dry..

2. Paint the dry piece with two DecoArt Fluid acrylics' paints as shown.

3. Add orange paint over the yellow/bit of blue paint layer and mist with a bit of water for a nice effect.

4. Stamp a few  butterflies from STAMPlorations'Trendy Butterflies stamp set,  using clear embossing ink and heat emboss with black embossing powder. Then hand cut the stamped butterflies and mist them with yellow mist.

5. Add white faux stitching with Uniball pen and adhere the stamped and hand cut butterflies as shown. Outline the edges  of the hanger with black permanent ink.

6. Stamp a couple more of black butterflies with the same technique.
Stamp the sentiment words with Trendy Butterflies stamp set over white cardstock with black heat embossing and mist with the same yellow mist. Glue the sentiment words and outline them with black pen.
Your bright door hanger is done!

Life and beauty: ARTplorations tutorial

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new Mixed Media tutorial made for ARTplorations.
This time I made a up cycled  foam door hanger, the kind you buy for just a few cents in any  craft shop.

Step by step tutorial:
1. The foam door hanger was already painted when I decided to up cycle it in Mixed Media style, so I don't have any painting photos, but it was painted with acrylics only with a bit of copper acrylic over the basic paint. So I use ARTplorations Big Bloom Factory  large  stencil and DecoArt Modelling paste and cover the whole piece with a pretty thick paste layer. And as usual- let it be totally dry!

2. The dry paste was painted with two fluid acrylic paints (yes, blue and yellow make green shadows as I wanted). Then the wet paste was heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

On this close up photo you can see the great texture of  texture paste, acrylics and heat embossing. All surface was painted with gold acrylic paint and you can see the final result on the finished project photos.

3. For the next step I used STAMPlorations Vignette: Eclectic Florals stamps with Gold pigmented Clearsnap ink and heat embossed them with Gold embossing powder.
You sure can use clear embossing ink and gold powder, but with this double gold combo the colors are rich and no spot  left uncovered.

4.The flowers were hand cut and then misted over with light pink mist (Tattered Angels).
I added the same acrylic paint that was used  for the stencil as my flower centres and added it to the edges too.
A couple of butterflies were made in the very same way (stamped, heat embossed, hand cut) using STAMPlorations Trendy Butterflies set.All stamped pieces were glued over the door hanger as shown.

5. Puffy stickers words were glued over the bottom part of the hanger and painted with gold and blue acrylics.

And one last view of the finished Mixed Media project! Don't you think the STAMPlorations/ARTplorations combination is just GORGEOUS?

Imagine endless possibilities art page with ARTplorations- tutorial

Hello my dear crafty friends ! Irit is here with my new Mixed Media art page tutorial and this time I made is in a totally different style. It's my first time to use this technique and I hope you like the final result as much as I like it.
So let's go!
Step 1:
Paint the thick Kraft cardstock with a mix of DecoArt Mixed Media line acrylic fluid paints. Make some rectangles and some splashes over the page and let it dry.

Step 2:
Use ARTplorations Bold Florals stencil with DecoArt Gel medium and add the flowers randomly on 2/3 of the page. The gel medium with be clear after it's dry; for now you can see the flowers as mute white ones.

Step 3:
Paint the whole page over the gel medium flowers with black acrylic paint and wipe the wet paint from the flowers as shown.

Step 4: Use white fluid acrylic paint and STAMPlorations rectangle stamp from Frames and Flowers  set to stamp all random rectangles over the dry black painted page.
It shouldn't be too pretty- just stamp and let it dry.

Step 5: Use ARTplorations Bubbles stencil to add white acrylic circles randomly over the page as shown.

Step 6:
Add some white mist over the page and make a title rectangle with 3 stickers covered with a bit of white paint like a chalkboard.
Look how this title is perfect for this page? I didn;t know what will be a result of my art work and I think that the possibilities are really endless.

Perfect in any way: Steampunk canvas for MMM

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new project made for Mixed Media Mojo challenge blog.

This time we were asked to make a project with recycled pieces and to use metal.
The canvas I used was already used and I didn't like the result. So I just covered it with black gesso and Bingo! Steampunk was the thing that i had to make over the black texture I got.
I used a big chipboard from FabScraps as the background one and added a few smaller from Tando. DecoArt Mixed media paints were used to cover the whole piece with mixture of textures and colors.

I added a few metal painted pieces and made some clay pieces using Makin's Clay with different steampunk molds and painted over with metal paints.
I also stamped the STAMPlorations sentiment that is about being perfect in any style, even Steampunk one.

So here is Mixed media mojo challenge for you to participate!
Just recycle and if you want- add some metal.
Good luck!
