Papercrafting with BoBunny

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my BoBunny papercrafting inspiration.
This time I made a Mixed Media layout where the main point is the title and not the photo.
This huge title was made over Double Dot BoBunny cardstock with large stencil BB letters.
Let's say that this was pretty much time consuming as also there are two of each letters there, but not three or four (like letter E). So I made this title by steps and covered with a thin layer of Pentart white gesso.
I like this " nonsense" title that is this " Keep calm" all over thing, but I made it my own.
And as the photo has a clock on it I added lots of clocks with BB  stencils and one BB die cut clock.

The die cut clock was covered with Copper BB glitter paste and arranged over black die cut circle.

The only embellishments here are this huge cluster made with BB Serendipity collection chipboard (painted to copper color), one new heart die cut and one single BB flower that was already in this copper color.
Some background stamping was added to the " white spaces" with different BB stamps.

Papericious Azaealian collection inspiration: Wedding Mixed Media layout

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my Papericious inspiration .
This is Irit from Irit Shalom Designs here today and I am going to show you my new wedding layout made with most gorgeous modern and graphic Azaealian new collection.

This is my dear daughter wedding photo from last September and it was made in black and white.
So for this photo  blues and a bit of yellow gold were added to make it shine, but still the photo is the main issue of this project.
Backround cardstock was covered with some small stencils with texture paste and then painted with  white gesso, so the black is seen as grey now.
More splashes were made with another stencil under the photo.

I hand cut  cardstock patterns such as triangles and waved strips and added them vertically over the page.
Chipboards and paper cut " story" were used to make the visual triangle around the photos.
Each chipboard was painted with black gesso only.
And as the last move to connect the all elements I made the crackle paste frame over the photo and when dry misted the whole page with yellow and light blue sprays.

Papericious Indie Chic inspiration: 3 (YEARS OLD) layout

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my first for July Papericious inspiration!
This is Irit from Irit Shalom's Designs here and this is a fancy, girly layout I made with the new released Indie Chic paper collection and quite a few new and old Papericious chipboards.

As you can see I hand cut the inner part of this cardstock and moved it from  left to overlapping right.
So now we can see the basic blue cardstock seen  in some spots and gives us the darker blue shade.
The photo is of my dear grand daughter Netta who was 3 years old during this photo session and she holds this chalkboard saying she is 3.
So I made my title with Papericious Numero 3 in the same chalkboard colors.
The background chipboard and the fancy new Dream catcher were painted  to the similar blue color to fit the background.
Some new fabric flowers were added with background chipboard leaves painted with white gesso.
I picked the  lace flowers to fit her lacy outfit on the photo.

I hope that you liked my simple, but yet very fancy layout!
Thanks for visiting !

Papericious Indie Chic tutorial: Forever Dream Mixed Media canvas

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit from Irit Shalom's Designs is here today and I am going to share a full step by step Mixed Media canvas tutorial made with the most gorgeous new and just released Indie Chick Papericious collection.
This is a project I made for this blog post using the flat canvas, Papericious paper collection and chipboards, left over tissue paper and a lot of art mediums.

Here you can see this canvas without the staged photo and to see more details.

And before I move to my step by step tutorial here are some close- ups:

And now for the full tutorial:
1.Paint the flat canvas with black Papericious Heavy gesso and let it dry. Tear a piece of cardstock from Indie Chick collection to cover the painted canvas as shown.

2. Hand cut squares from the second Indie Chick cardstock and glue them over the canvas as shown.

3. Paint the Papericious chipboard pieces with black acrylic paint. The #1 is half of the Papericious #1 chipboard negative that was left after I used it on another project.

4. Use translucent embossing paste and a stencil to add texture to the flat black chipboard.

5.Glue the painted chipboards over the canvas as shown. Glue torn white tissue pieces around the chipboard shapes and let the liquid glue dry.

6. Spray the canvas with black mist.

7.Hand cut a fee feathers from another cardstock and then paint a few chipboard shapes with the similar dark red paint.

8.Glue the feathers, the painted chipboards and the hand cut sentiment (from the same delicious paper collection) as shown.

9.Add Crackle Glaze medium around the canvas and a bit over the tissue .  Cover the paper title with glaze too. Let it dry.

10.Spray the finished canvas with gold mist all around. Add Papericious sequins inside the #1 chipboard using Glossy Accents as your glue for the sequins.

I hope that you like my Mixed Media canvas and my small tutorial.

Papericious " Let's go " pack inspiration- Mixed Media notebok cover

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my April inspirational post.
This is Irit from Irit Shalom Designs here today and I am going to share my new travel journal cover that was made with Papericious new, just released, Let's go collection.

I made the chipboard cover using some recycled chipboards and then covered them from both sides with two Papericious cardstocks. The 12*12'' cardstock fits the regular book sise, but not allows to make folds as it's pretty much close to 12*12''. So I glued one cardstock on the top, the second one inside and then added borders on the outside with what was left from the inside cardstock.

The background panel was made from different strips from Let's go collection, but then with all paints and mediums you just can see the strips, but not the patterns.
First I painted them with white gesso and then with the thin layer of black gesso and then added the travel words using Tim Holtz stencil and texture paste.
The color was made with different acrylic paints and wiped for the mute final result.
Then embellishment cluster was made with layers over layers of Let's go cardstocks.
Some were border punched with Binding edge punch. Some are pieces of background die cuts I made with different dies.
Pieces of Papericious new released background chipboards were added between the paper layers, painted with black acrylic paint.
I added two paper cuts from the sentiment cardstock and the chipboard title on the top.
The chipboard title and the chipboard arrows were heat embossed with blue embossing powder.

As you can see I added quite a lot of layers over the cover, but then it's still  flat as this is a journal to use and it can't be too bulky.

And this is how it looks while standing:

Happy Spring canvas with Prickley Pear

This is my new fancy Spring canvas made with Prickley Pear Rubber stamps.
I used Tando chipboards, DecoArt mediums and paints and Tando stencils for the background.
The sentiment was stamped over the canvas. The birds were stamped and die cut with the matching PPRS die and the leaves were stamped and hand cut after being heat embossed.
All flowers were covered with a thin gesso layer for the less brightness.

Love altered heart with Art Anthology

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my Valentine February Art Anthology post.
This time I made an altered chipboard heart project and this is a kind of " use whatever you have" one.
Most of us (be honest, you too) have this junk box with all possible left over embellishments that are not a part of a set or collection.
They are all in all possible colors and textures and shapes and we never actually use them.
So this project is the one that makes you to open this junk box and to grab all things you would never use the other way and to make one single altered project that looks fabulous and costs nothing (yes, the gorgeous Art Anthology paints and mists have a cost, but it's not like you use the whole bottle for this project? ).
So as you can see other than Art Anthology products I added here buttons, pieces of chipboards, metal trinkets, lace, die cuts and ... You name it- it's here.

So here are a few close ups to this  shiny red heart and the full Snapguide tutorial is HERE as always.
You can also see the full product list in  Art Anthology blog.

Mixed Media canvas with BoBunny

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here today and this is my take for BoBunny Mixed media  day using the most lovely Sweet Moments collection.
Mixed Media is a lot of things. These can be art pages, tags, alterations, but the most known are art canvases. So as my first Mixed Media post for BoBunny I decided to make a 10*10''  altered canvas in scrapbooking style.
It's so easy when you have a lovely photo and the best ever BoBunny products!
So my two adorable 3 and 5 years old grand children are the humane stars of this canvas and all BoBunny products are the real stars of this creation.

Sweet Moments Mixed Media canvas by Irit Shalom

The whole canvas was covered with BoBunny gesso and when it was dry I added texture using two BoBunny stickable stencils: Flower Power and Lace (the lace border only).
As I was short of texture paste I just made mine using BoBunny gesso with a small amount of Plaster of Paris (this you can buy for cents in each and every Home store).
When the texture was dry I added a mix of BoBunny  Mixed media products.
The greens over the background are a small portions of Mint Glimmer Spray.
The pinks around are Tutut Pearlescents that I just added with my messy fingers.
The golds are both Gold Glimmer spray and Gold Glitter paste.
Believe me- my hands were really messy as I work with hands  only while doing my Mixed Media backgrounds.
Remember to let each color / medium to be totally dry before you add another color, unless you want a brown messy look.
I added a few strips of lovely patterned paper from Sweet Moments collection and I didn't even use any glue.Just add the strips over wet mediums (gesso or texture paste) and add a thin layer of gesso over the strips.

The matting for the photo was made with Sweet Moments Misc Me Journal contents  and this is a time to say that those jorunalling cards are just perfect for any project and  not intended to be for Misc Me projects only.

The main embellishment cluster was made with Noteworthy pieces and then the largest Sweet Moments Layered chipboard sticker was added as the title of my art piece.
The yellowish flowers are from Noteworthy pack and I just colored them with Gold and Tutu Pearlescent to change a color and to add a bit more  gold over the canvas.
As the final embellishment touch I added just a small piece of Frosting Jewels.
Tou can also see the wide areas of crackled texture on this photo and around the whole canvas.
Those corners were made with BoBunny Crackle primer and Cracle White paste and covered with the same mediums as the stencilled areas and this was the later add- on.

The photo was embellished with Noteworty tab and a few Combo stickers made the sub- title of this canvas.

And then I decided to add some die cut swirls to connect the photo with the title in a more combined way.
So a couple of swirls were die cut with BoBunny Flourish die.
Some Emerald rhinestones were the final touch of this piece.
And as you can see I didn't stamp! And nothing happened. You can do a Mixed Media art without stamping. (This was a message for all of those who are afraid to add stamping over the background and to ruin the already finished background. So I was afraid to ruin it and decided not to you stamps at all.)

Spring canvas tutorial

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my Spring canvas tutoria in Mixed Media Mojo blog.
This time I made it with a lot of Iridescent Ann Butler's paint and other ESF mediums, chipboards, stamping over chipboards and a lot more techniques. It has a very rich textured background  and I hope that you like this project.
Step by step instructions:
1.Cover the canvas with ESF Gesso and add some Tando chipboards over. Cover the chipboards with gesso too. Let it dry.

2.Paint the canvas with a mix of ESF Chalk It Up Avocado  Pie and Key Lime paints.

3.Paint the canvas with a mix of ESF Ann Butler's Iridescents paints: Lilac, Lagoon and Ocean Surf. Make the  thick layer of those paints and stap over the wet paint with  a small jar lid to make those stamped circles all over the wet canvas.

4.Heat the whole surface with a heat gun to get those " bubbles and dots" over the wet paint.

5. Partly cover the canvas with ESF Crackle to get more texture. Let it dry. When dry, mist with gold mist to get the golden look for the canvas.

6.  Stamp over 5 chipboard butterflies with Ann Butler's Unity Faux Quilting stamps (I used just two of them) using clear embossing ink and white embossing powder. This step is not shown on the photos. Paint the corner chipboard and all stamped butterflies with more ESF Iridescents paints and wipe the paint over heat embossed areas. Arrange the corner and the butterflies as shown.

7. Outline the chipboards with black pen. Glue the Tim Holtz sticker on the bottom of your canvas.
