Making wooden coasters with TPD stamps

Hello my dear crafty friends! Today I am going to share my wooden coaster (just one this time as I just had one wooden piece at home, but more will be done soon with other flower stamps from the same Two Paper Divas  set).

First I painted the bare wood with chalkboard paint. I love this translucent paint more than the regular black acrylic, but you sure can use acrylics for this project.
Then I stamped one flower from Seed Packet Flowers set 4 times on each corner with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white super fine embossing powder.
The next step was coloring the flowers and I decided to use pearlescent paints from Creative Imagination Paints to get this  pearled shine over my finished coaster.
You need to cover it with sealer to use with water/hot cup. I didn't do it yet as taking photos of sealed glossy projects is mission impossible.

Hope you like my small altered stamped project.
You can  buy those lovely flower stamps in Two Paper Divas shop!

One card- seven trends

Usually, in my non crafty life, I am not a trendy person, but then, when I craft, the sky is a limit and I can try some trends I would never try out of crafting.
This Happy Birthday card I made for IBS blog post is this mix trends card with quite a nice final result. I stamped Happy Birthday title from Happy Sentiments set http://www.inspiredbystamping.com/collections/frontpage/products/happy-sentiments
with fluorescent embossing powder (trend #1 is Fluorescent) using black cardstock as my base :trend #2 is black backgrounds

Then I stamped a lot of flowers and leaves using IBS Little Flowers set  http://www.inspiredbystamping.com/collections/frontpage/products/littleflowers

heat embossed with the same green fluorescent powder and 2 shades of fluorescent pinks (trend #1 again, but different color). I made two flower cluster over the card (trend #3 is clusters) and added Owl sticker in the middle (trend #4, the pretty old and never ending, are owls). As the final touch I added some paint splashes with bright paints (trend #5 is adding splashes/paints/mists even if you don't need them) and some crystals (trend #6 is blings all over, the more the better). As I said, I do like my card, but let's be clear: you can make your own art and not to follow all trends. But then, if you don't, most probably you wouldn't get
much "Likes" when you post it on your FB page/Instagram/Pinterest (lucky #7 trend that we all use)

2014 card

This is exactly a type of cards I like: the focal point is artistic, stamped, Mixed Media thing; the card out of it is a simple, but fancy.

I made this one for Cards challenge: buttons/brads /bling. I don't see much bling here, but yes, I used 4 brads and 6 buttons. The gold embossed letters can count for bling. I think they can.

I used Visible Image stamp, Staze-On 3inks technique, Wycinanka chipboards for a title, Tando puzzle piece; one punch, black cardstock, embossing powders and red paint from CIP.Let's say it's a tribute for  2 companies I designed for ( VI and CIP) and to 3  companies I still design for (Tando, Wycinanka, Wow! Embossing Powders).

Inspired by Stamping November release Day 4: Vintage Garden Seed Packets

Hello my dear crafty friends! Today is day 4 and the last one of our new and gorgeous IBS Vintage release. Today all of us used this gorgeous Vintage Garden Seed Packets set andI decided to make a gift card holder.

Also it looks like a card, the dry embossed piece is a glassine bag and it's open on the top (I added 2 wooden clips to close it when you put the gift inside and covered with some washi tape too). I stamped the packet stamp over IBS printable paper. Then I stamped a flower, painted it with a shiny paint and hand cut. Then it was glued with 3d glue and I stamped a sentiment over the frame. Everything else was just the embellishments: 2 die cut leaves under the flower; old vintage piece of lace; metal charm with glued nail blings over it, a big recycled twine bow.
And now for the full least of all our designers. PLEASE, leave them all some love.

GJS AND CIP blog hop

Welcome to the Genuinely Jane Stuios(GJS)/Creative Inspirations Paint(CIP) Blog Hop! If you came from Dana's  blog then you are in the right place. If not, and you would like to start at the beginning, please head over to the Creative Inspirations Paint Blog Here

Before we get to the good stuff, let me give you a little info on each of these two awesome companies:

Genuinely Jane Studios manufactures small and medium size wood mini-albums for mixed media, scrapbooking and altered art in many shapes and sizes. All of the albums are hand made right on site in their Central Missouri facility. In addition to their albums, they also carry other art supplies in their online store.

Creative Inspirations Paint, our other company in this team up manufactures non-toxic, water based, translucent, shimmery paint that can be used for scrapbooking, card making, mixed media, altered art and more. They also carry embossing powders, glitter and UV resin. Using the paints is as simple as "Shake, Open and Play!" The paints are some of the most vivid you will find on the market and made in Washington State.

All of the designers from both teams have joined together to show you what can be created using the albums and paint! Be sure to check both the Genuinely Jane Studios and Creative Inspirations Paint websites to see all of the wonderful products!

And for me this blog hop is a kind of closure: for 2 terms I was a DT member for CIP and now I design for GJS , so I just feel great with both company's products.
Today I am going to show  you an art wall deco I made with GJS Cascade book. This book comes in 4 wooden pages , from small to bigger. So I decided to make 4 separate art pieces and to combine them to one single art piece in my new (yet not finished) craft room.
I  am still thinking about the proper arrangement of those pieces, but this is how  I feel it should be done.
Each piece has a word over it and all together say " ART IS NEVER PERFECT" -
I am pretty sure you agree with me. All pieces are made over wood, no paper at all, but masks, mists, gesso and a lot of CIP.

And now for a single pages of this art piece
Art page was made with Tando Creative mask, gesso and embossing gold powder over the mask. I stamped with VLVS! Film strip stamp and Explore word stamp and then painted the old chipboard letters with CIP.More paint was added around the piece. All together was misted with  some random mists (Ranger)

The second page  is " IS" page, smallest one of all 4.
Again I used Tando clock mask, gesso and heat embossing, VLVS! stamps and just outlined the old letter stickers.

The third page is my " Never " page and .... OK, same same. Mists, masks, stamps, paints, Same companies all over this project. Here I also added a huge CIP drops over the whole piece.

And the last one, the  largest and the most " artsy" one.

Do you see the real old paint brush here? I left it with a drops of CIP after I painted the Perfect title.
That's my project for this hop and I hope you like it as much as I do.
Like what you see? Well, guess what? There are a couple of great prizes being given away at the end of this hop by both companies!

GJS - Gift Certificate for Wood Albums valued at $25
CIP -

How to Win: Leave a comment on all of the blogs in the hop which are listed below...

Life is beautiful with WOW! powders

This altered project was just a wooden base with a hole that I found at home, a 10 cent kids plastic magnifing glass and a fantastic A2Z Scraplets title (it's the little things). From all of those I made  this lovely altered art piece, but it couldn't  be done withou those gorgeous WOW! Embossing Powders I used over it.

The wooden base was covered with Glitz paper layers . The title was inked, clear embossed with Clear Regular powder , layer after layer to make it glossy and glass look and then I made a random stamping over it.

Wow embossing Copper powder was  the main coverage of the plastic glass. Easy to make : just add some Watermark embossing ink randomly over it , spread the powder and heat it. Nothing happens to plastic, believe me.  Then I added some Tim Holtz Picket fence  crackled paint  over my  embossed Copper powder and Blue embossing powder over it while the paint was still  wet.

The 7 Gypsies silver spoon was colored into the copper color with alcohol inks and I added this Tim Holtz sticker to say that small things Create Life.

The background wings were molded and casted with clear Ice Resim and I added Blue glitter inside the resin casting. The white chipboards from Tando Creative were painted and glittered with Clear glitter  to make the front wings, the bird was also painted  white and heat embossed with White embossing powder , then  painted over it with some blue paint, as well as Prima pink floweer brach. I covered the square base with woodgrain washi tape  and  I added this Glitz Life is Beautiful sticker on the front.
As my final touch the brass owl from Handmade Halo was added for the life wisdom and I also connected a 7 Gypsies charm to the spoon. To keep this title in the right position I used 3 kitchen tooth picks and a lot of hot glue.
I enter this to Moxie Fab gift challenge, as this is a great altered gift after all

Sweet Stamps monthly challenge: Flip flop card

Hello my dear stamping friends! Our monthly Sweet Stamps challenge is to make a Flip Flop  card and I decided to make my own version of this card.
So here we go:
Circled Flip Flop  card
Step 1: Cut a piece of a basic cardstock into 5.75*6.25 ''
Step 2: Make pencil lines on the back of your card as shown: the first one is 2.75'' from the edge and the second is 4.25'' from the edge; each one should be 1.25'' long.
Then add same lines on the bottom part of your card, but make them 1.75'' long. Score all 4 lines and don't fold yet.
Step 3: Using any possible circle cutter cut the circle on the card front, but don't cut the upper and bottom piece in between scored lines. Now your basic card is done.
Step 4: Cut 2 circles a bit smaller then your partial main circle used any solid cardstock you want. I used Kraft one. Stamp your Butterfly Bookmark  stamp  on one of the circles, as this is a long vertical stamp make it partially on both circle sides. Use clear embossing ink and Red embossing powder and heat emboss it. Glue the stamped circle in the middle.

Cut LOVE YOU die cut using Die Versions Everyday Complements  die from Kraft cardstock and glue it on the side, as this side will be seen  when your card is folded.
Step 5: Cover the card with  MME 6*6'' pad patterned paper as shown. Die cut die  border with Cherry Lynn Border Carnivale  die and glue it on the side.  Tie a green  ribbon as shown.
Cut Tropical Flourish  from CLD die and add it over the ribbon. Paint it with Olive Green,Citrus and Bright Yellow Creative Inspirations Paints.
Die cut a lot of flowers with Build a Flower #1  die, arrange 3 flowers using brads and glue them over the leaves. Paint them with Garnet CIP .
Step 6: Fold the left scored line back (mountain fold). Then fold the right scored line to the front. Now you can see Love you sentiment on the front.

Now open the card and you can see the whole butterflies  stamped image.

Enjoy your project!
Now it's your turn! Come and play with Sweet Stamps monthly challenge: make swing card and enter it to our challenge to win!

Art: my way of life

Hello, my dear crafty friends! This is my very first post made for my new DT for the USA stamp company named  100 Proof Press. Also it's a kind of Guest designing, but it's for quite a long 6 month term, so I may call it my new  design team after all. For the first 2 month I  picked a bunch of stamps that I think can showcase my work in the best possible way, but  there are so many great stamps that this was very difficult to  decide.
So here is my first project: altered hexagon Tando Creative mini tray made  as a tribute to Art. Art is my word for year 2013 and each month I would add another world to combine with ART. So this month it's Life.

The chipboard frame was painted with Rangers Tattered Rose crackled paint. The inside paper was a leftover from Pion designs, but it's hardly seen  after all alteration made.
First I stamped the Old  Script stamp  with white pigmented ink and heat embossed it with White embossing powder (Wow Embossing powders from my other team are just the best for white heat embossing). Then I mixed quite a few of Rangers distress stains (some blues, greens and some pinks) to make my background.
3 main stamped images were stamped with 100 Proof Press gorgeous stamps: Artist's small   palette, Open  notebook and Camera 35 mm, heat embossed and hand cut.  Way of life stamp was heat embossed too and I cut it to 3 separate words to fit the tray window. Then I used some shimmery paints from Creative Inspirations Paints (my previous DT and I still have a lot of paints to use forever), made those colors over the palette,  painted the bare chipboard ART letters (American Crafts) and Handmade Halo brass clock.
The flower cluster was made with IAMROSES flowers, misted and painted a bit and arranged over a piece of Tando Creative chipboard journaling piece (I just cut out the swirls this time). I also dropped a few red
" blood" paint drops as sometimes art is a painful issue.

Today with my beautiful grandson

My  dear beloved grandson on the beach, playing with some sand and this pastel, monochromatic page made with Teresa Collins papers and chipboards and lot of The Rubber Cafe stamps. I used some gelatos for a sand look and added some washi tape for the trend. Totally minimalistic page and I love it this way.

Visible Image Friday: Live your dreams

Hello, my dear stamping friends! Today is Friday and   starting today, I am going to show you my Visible Image
 projects on every Friday.
As I am a very versatile crafter, I can promise you all possible kind of projects here: from scrapbooking, to altered items, recycling, wearable art, Mixed Media projects and some cards too. Less cards and more of everything else.
I just got  my stamps 3 days ago, so as my first project I decided to make a tag(Mixed Media  small altered  piece, but I had to stay with a small project as I only had 3 days to brainstorm, craft and  to make my post). So here is my project for today.

I love background stamps a lot,  but if as just got a few, one has to be  creative. So I used this Men's  collage stamp, but just a part of it with a script to make the big tag background with black Memento ink. Then I used Clear embossing ink and Cotton Candy Wow Embossing Powder to emboss  the edges. and my outer tag was done.
The central part was made with Bo Bunny paper piece,  that had this "In the moment" print on it  (sorry, dear Bo Bunny. My stamping changed it so much that you can't even recognize your own paper). I stamped the same script part of Men's Collage with Frosty White ink and White Wow Embossing Powder a few times .
Then I stamped some dots around the paper edge with  Grunge Polka Dot Background stamp and heat embossed with the same blue powder. Then the Grunge Flourish was stamped around with black Memento and I added the inned tag over the outer one with 3d  foam glue.

The best ever stamp LIVE YOUR DREAMS was stamped over  some paper leftovers, heat embossed with Gold Glitter powder and cut into 3 pieces. This stamp is just perfect as is, not cuts, but I had to cut to fit the tag this time.

The tag was half empty in my own opinion , so I went to my chipboard box and here it was, this vintage candles piece from A2Z Scraplets. Some clear ink, some gold glitter powder and it was almost done. Wait, not yet. Now for more embellishments: colored lace under the inner tag, own brass charm for the wisdom of life, metal  brass and paper charm (it's not a stamped image, just a piece of fancy paper  handmade in Handmade Halo shop.) Small key to open the dream box on the corner. One  huge fancy bow and some pins. This was a moment I decided to stop. I want to showcase the stamps, not my  continuous embellishing addiction. And then I felt that  this piece is too monochromatic. Kind of I have  " ton of one color, kilo of  second color and no gram of the third color..."  A few red paint (blood?) drops and it's all done. And I like it a lot. I feel a real connection to this art piece.
Tips on Friday
Here is one of my best tips for your all: when you want to heat emboss your stamped image with white powder, don't use clear ink. Use white pigmented ink only: it gives best results. And after years of buying white inks: Clearsnap Frosty White is the best for embossing , also not the best to use "as is" : it never dries-LOL. And for all of you who ask now: I am not designing for this ink company, never did and most probably never will as they don't want out of North America designers. So this promo is just as this is the best white ink for embossing from my own point of view. If you know about another great white ink, please tell me too.
And 2 more small tips (you most probably know all of them, but if not...). Use the small leftovers to stamp on them if your stamps are almost solid, as I did with my title stamp. Nobody sees the paper after all and you already have it on your table. Save the Earth- use it!
The last tip for today: to make paint drops you can use a long thin piece of the leftover cardstock that is already on your crafting table. Just dip it into the pain jar and wave around the finished art piece. Don't afraid about drops covering some embellishments. Random is random is random.

Hope you got some inspiration  from this piece and now jump to Visible Image shop to get you some great and non expensive stamps. New releases are just around the corner! See you next Friday with more Visible Image inspiration!

My Life's Journey

This lo was published in October 2012 issue of Scrap 365 UK print magazine and was in the content page too as a promo to All about me gallery. I am really thrilled to have  my own photo in a print magazine, also you can mostly see my camera. Please, read a hidden journaling- it says everything about my scrapping addiction.

The part of it  was also shown in Details page. So proud of myself for this lo: I scrapped about Me page (I am not about myself scrapper at all) and I showcased 3 of my DT at the time of scrapping this page (Wow embossing powders, Creative Inspirations Paint  and The Rubber Cafe).I also made a real journaling and even used a hidden one here (not usaual  for me at all) and as a final thing- this is pretty clean and simple page made by messy me.
