Winter wonderland with IBS

My new winter layout made with a lot of background stamping.
Product list:
Cardstock- American Crafts
Paper- Paper House Productions
Stickers: Paper House Productions
Stamps: Inspired by Stamping Delicate Doilies
Inks: Ranger
Embossing powders: WOW! Embossing Powders
Stencils: Tando Creative
Punches: EK Success
Other: Texture paste

Something about this layout:
Make your own backgrounds with heat embossed stamps, regular stamping and inked stencils and stencils with texture paste. Don't try to be perfect- it's just a background to add more interest.
Make 3d photos by  printing a same photo twice and by adding half photos over it with 3d foam glue. You can also make another 3d variation by using two similar photos with the horizone line, but not the same.
When you work with a sketch you can resize your photos to the smaller size, but make it in proportion.

Love you card :easy made Mixed Media card with IBS

My old technique and new sentiment over this Mixed Media card made for Inspired by Stamping. I used a mask with texture paste, embossing powders and then stamped a circle and a love sentiment inside the tag and adhered them over the stamped circle.
Easy and fancy card. Don't you think so?

Tando Spooky week

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here again and this is my Spooky project made for Tando blog.
As we don't celebrate Halloween, I am not sure if it's really spooky, but I love this Tando chipboard collection a lot and with a mask, gold- yellow mist, black gesso and some embossing powders, this small craft piece looks fine to me.
What do you think? Does it FRIGHTEN you?
Just a bit?

No bird soars card

A new card made for Rubber Dance company with a very new September released Vintage birds set . I used one big post stamp shaped stamp, but then made a circle of the stamped  image and one sentiment stamp from the same set.
The background is done with Memory box stencil and texture paste and then heat embossed a bit and misted a lot. The background paper and the stickers added are from PHP.  This card is a good example of how we can use cute stickers and paper and to make not so cute Mixed Media card: just add some MM background and some- a lot- of stamping over and you can use any products for you MM cards.

Faux wood tutorial for IBS

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new tutorial made for Inspired by Stamping company.
This time I am going to teach you how to make Faux Wood background (just one of the ways I am going to show in a few next months).
This tutorial is based on gesso and stencil way of making your Faux wood background.
Step 1: Make your own tooth brush tool by cutting  each second  row  from the old or Hotel (bad unused) tooth brush. Then apply gesso over the white thin cardboard as I did here.

Step 2: Take your wood grain stencil (there are a lot on the market and it's just one you must have piece) and add more gesso over the first gesso layer. You also can  use white texture paste if you want more textural background. Add some  clear embossing powder over the texture and heat emboss it to limit your drying time and to give this piece more interest.

Step 3: Use Terra Cotta Walnut ink and a simple baby wipe and add color with misting around the dry piece from the previous step. Add as little or as much as you want: this will make your wood color lighter or darker, depends on your wishes only. Let the mist dry and please use gloves or try to keep you fingers out of the mist as this mist is pretty messy; unless you really don't care about your  hands and want the whole world to see that you are a real Mixed Media artist.

Step 4: Imitate the wooden plaque with simple dark brown lines made with the darker color of Walnut ink and the simple and cheap Fantastix tool. Use your metal ruler to make the lines: just dip your tool into the ink and draw the lines over .

And now for the small finished project I made using this handmade background.
As I used the whole piece for the bigger frame project , I just had small leftovers and make this lovely wooden plaque with 5  pieces of my " wood".
I stamped some leaves and small flowers directly over the background using  permanent inks and then made three stamped titles using some  Inspiring Sentiments  my most beloved  IBS set. The leaves and flowers are from new just released Autumn Blessings set.

SS GARDEN

Hello my dear crafty friends! Today is my turn to show you my Garden creation made for our Sweet Stamps new weekly challenge. I know that its the last day to enter this challenge, but then who knows? You can do a card or another GARDEN PROJECT and even to  win!
So here is my card for today: stamped Mixed Media card made with   one of the new in SS shop Memory box stencils: Modern Blooming Frame.
I used a light green colored texture paste  with this stencil and then misted the white cardstock with blue mist to get this look of my background.
Next step was to make my stamped panel and it was stamped with Wildflowers SS stamp in black. To make it pop I added some red blings over each flower  center and some glitter glue over the petals.
Finally I stamped this lovely sentiment from the new SS Simple Sentiments set. I love this font a lot and it's  a must to have set!

See you tomorrow in our SS blog for new challenge and more inspiration!

Free as a Bird with Rubber Dance

Hello my dear crafty friends! Today I am going to share my second project made for Rubber Dance stamp company and it's again a kind of a Mixed Media art card.
I made the background with Memory Box stencil and painted to yellow texture paste and inked the edges with blue ink. Then I made the central panel with Dancing Woman most gorgeous collage stamp and made a watercolor effect with Gelatos over the panel.

This Free as a (bird) PHP sticker was just perfect as a sentiment, but bird color was red and brown. So I just covered it with pale blue pearl glue and let is dry overnight. I added two more bird stickers (those were in a perfect color) and my art card was done.
I  hope you like my card and those gorgeous Rubber Dance artistic stamps as much as I love them.
You can find them all here in the shop!
All the stamps used for these projects are from Rubber Dance: www.rubberdance.com

Timeless art with Inspired by Stamping

Hello my dear crafty friends ! This art piece is a first piece made with IBS stamps for  December and I decided to made it Mixed Media art style this time.
IBS stamps are the most versatile ones: also most of the DT  make cards, all of us try different art styles when it's possible and here is my blank puzzle board made as a Timeless art deco.

First I used masks with molding paste toe make the background texture. Then I added layers of mists over it and used a clock chipboard as a mask too. Next I grabbed the last month IBS Vintage items stamps set and  stamped a lots of images with black permanent ink.

Next more fancy embellishments were added and this art deco was finished.
The great thing with this kind of projects is that there is no right or wrong way  to make it. There are no mistakes ! This is a free kind of art you can do in a totally imperfect style and all you need are our gorgeous IBS stamps!
I also enter this to a few web challenges:

Mixed Media Monday with PWP: Altered box

Hello my dear crafty friends! Irit is here again and this time with my most favorite Mixed Media Monday post for Paper Wings Productions. Today I am going to show you my totally recycled box (this was one of the boxes I kept after using my new web connecting device and I loved the box so much that I decided to keep and to alter it. ). I still have one more similar box for the future use and I will alter it shortly too.

First I covered the box with TIM HOLTZ Kraft resist cardstock. You don't see the kraft color anymore? You wouldn't. After a massive misting with Lindy's Stamp Gang mists you can just see this lovely vintage colors. Then I stamped a bit of background stamping over it (not much seen after all... Sorry.)

The next step was to cut this gorgeous girly image from one of adorable clip sheets and to glue it over the cover. Then I added a bit of gesso using a mask and heat embossed with a glitter over the wet gesso. Another piece of clip paper - the clock- was cut and glued over the small half die cut doily and I stamped the sentiment over the pre made card embellishment. The last, but not the least, the die cut word Love was misted and glued over the cover.

Metal and crystal handle was added over the front and I just love this shabby, but yet not too messy look. Usually I add more and more embellishments: blings, flowers, stems etc. But I really want to use this box, so the less is more and I decided to stop. Hope you like this small altered project and you love our PWP gorgeous clip art too. So easy to use, so effective and cheap. Go for it! Buy them all! You sure need them for your altered Mixed Media art.
