Happy Hanukkah with CAS- ual Fridays

Hello my dear crafty friends! Irit is here today and I am going to share one more Hanukkah card.
Hanukkah is just around the corner and as CAS- ual Fridays have the most beautiful Hanukkah stamps and Fri- dies this is a time to get yourself a few new items from the shop and to make a few new Hanukkah cards.
This time I decided to stay with die cutting  only and there is no stamping on this new card. But then there are a few background techniques that can be useful for non  stamping crafters or for these who want to make a set of cards with just dies and to try some Mixed Media easy techniques.

This card was made over the thick white cardstock without any patterned paper (not so much of  Hanukkah cardstock can be found in the shops).
I tried to stay in our traditional Hanukkah colors of blues and silver, but believe me you can use purples and gold, black and white or even reds and oranges of candle flames.
This is how it looks from the side: flat and fits the regular cheap mailing envelope.

And here is the main part- with both CAS- ual Fri- dies.

I used two sets of dies for this card: the first is the new and just released Happy Hanukkah Fri- dies set and the second is the older, but still much loved ........ Fri-n dies set.

Happy Hanukkah

And I made a full step by step photo tutorial for you all too.

1.Cover the card front with 3 strips of painters tape (repositionable tape to use for painting lines).

2.Use inks (I used American Crafts Mixed Media inks for this card) to ink the first strip on the card and then move the strips and ink all other parts with different blue ink colors.

3. Die cut the Star of David as shown and then arrange it inside with colors in the different spots.

4. Cover the card front with the stencil and use translucent texture paste over the stencil.
Let it dry for a few minutes.

5. Heat the dry paste and use silver foil and bone folder to add some distressed silver foil over the stencilled parts. This is not the usual way to use the foil, but  it worked without any laminators or other fancy tools. Anyway all I wanted is the get some silver over the texture paste lines, not to foil the stamped images.

6. Add some silver glitter drops over the die cut star as shown and let them dry.

7. Die cut the Happy Hanukkah and heat emboss it using VersaMark ink and glitter blue embossing powder.

8.Arrange the card and add more glitter glue drops over the card front.
Happy Hanukkah to you!

I really hope that you like my Hanukkah card and my small tutorial.

Adorable altered canvas

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my second September Art Anthology  inspiration.
After doing a lot of pretty dark art work I decided to try the bright one and I made this adorable canvas using my dear lovely granddaughter photos.
I left it in a pretty minimalistic style as I wanted the photos to shine and the background to be seen and not covered with tons of embellishments. So I just used the Dusty Attic chipboards to connect all canvas pieces and added some flowers for this girly canvas.

As always I made a full step by step tutorial for you to see and maybe to use HERE:

Check out How to Make a Girly Mixed Media Canvas With Art Anthology by Art Anthology on Snapguide.

I decided to enter this canvas to some web challenges:

Hello my dear friends and welcome to my new card Mixed Media tutorial!

Today I am going to share a totally different project. This time I am going tom show you how you can use Art Anthology products to make two clean and simple cards using the very same stamp, two different Art Anthology stencils and Art Anthology paints and colorations.
As you can see these cards are made with the same stamped sentiment, but them the cardstock, colors and mediums made them totally different.
Here are the cards again:

You can see the full step by step tutorial here on a Snapguide:
All products are listed in the Snapguide and I made a full Art Anthology products list here in this post
Hope you like my project and see you soon again with a totally different Mixed Media creation.

Love altered heart with Art Anthology

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my Valentine February Art Anthology post.
This time I made an altered chipboard heart project and this is a kind of " use whatever you have" one.
Most of us (be honest, you too) have this junk box with all possible left over embellishments that are not a part of a set or collection.
They are all in all possible colors and textures and shapes and we never actually use them.
So this project is the one that makes you to open this junk box and to grab all things you would never use the other way and to make one single altered project that looks fabulous and costs nothing (yes, the gorgeous Art Anthology paints and mists have a cost, but it's not like you use the whole bottle for this project? ).
So as you can see other than Art Anthology products I added here buttons, pieces of chipboards, metal trinkets, lace, die cuts and ... You name it- it's here.

So here are a few close ups to this  shiny red heart and the full Snapguide tutorial is HERE as always.
You can also see the full product list in  Art Anthology blog.

I enter this art piece to a couple of web challenges:

Fall votive Makin's Clay tutorial

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my October Fall votive tutorial made for you  with Makin's Clay products.
First I need to say that I meant to make a clay covered fall bangle. I opened the bangle and it was so tiny to wear that I decided to go to Plan B and to use the wooden base as my glass candle votive holder. And yes, Plan B actually worked.
So here is my tutorial for you and I hope that you will always keep Plan B in your crafty mind.

Step by step tutorial:
1. Use your Makin's Clay  Ultimate Clay Extruder and mix a pretty big piece of Makin's Clay in Natural, Light Adobe and Merlot colors and a basic medium size round hole disc. Don't try to make the roll very pretty as we are going to flatten it and the to paint over it.

2. Cover the wooden bare bangle with the extruded clay all around. On some point I was out of Merlot clay and I just covered with a lighter color. Again, the actual color is not seen on the finished project.
Here is a bangle I used:

And this is how the bangle looks after the full clay coverage:

2. Use Makin's Clay Ultimate Clay Machine  to roll three piece of clay in Yellow and Peach colors using setting 5 and let the clay pieces to dry as we are going to die cut them later.
3. Make Olive clay leave using Makin's Clay Leaves push mold and let them dry.

4. And this is a step with a new technique I never saw before.
I tried to die cut the dry clay sheet with the very delicate die and it was a mess.
So I decided to make an experiment and to die cut it with two layers and Bingo! It worked.
So let me show you the technique of die cutting clay sheet with a very delicate die.
First make a cut and do not even try to  pull the cut shape out of the die.

Put the die with the first clay layer in it over the second sheet of dry clay and now die cut  both layers.

And now the big surprise: you can take the clay cut out of the die and it has two gorgeous layers!
OK, you also need to clean the die and this is another story.

So here are just a few more leaves I made with the same technique:

5. Paint the votive and  all the die cut and mold leaves with a mix of gel medium based paint. I used Art Anthology paints, but any gel medium based paint will work.
First I painted the base with two colors of paint and you can already see the yellow glass votive inside the bangle. I was very happy to find one that was a perfect fit for the bangle size.

And now paint all leaves with more colors:

6. Let the paint dry and arrange the leaves of both kinds over the clay base using Beacon's Adhesives 3 in 1 glue. As  you can see the leaves cluster is  not  flat and there are layers of leaves glued one over another.

And the other side of the cluster:

And the  entire votive with the candle inside:

And that's how nice it looks on my vintage things table:
