Oh, ze vindt het toch zo geweldig om op te treden. Voor iedere show trekt ze haar mooie roze rokje aan, doet haar parels om en vergeet nooit haar nageltjes te lakken! Want Minnie The Mooo-cher is een échte showgirl! Ze klimt op het podium en droomt van shows in de beste theaters van de wereld, maar voorlopig moet ze het maar even met mijn zelfgemaakte toneeltje doen ;-) Dames en heren, geef haar een warm welkom, Miss Minnie The Mooo-cher!!!

Folks, here's my story about Minnie The Mooo-cher ;-) Guess you are all familiar with the song? (and for those of you who don't, here's the link). Oh, she just loves being on stage. Before each show she puts on her nice pink frock, pearls and never forgets to polish her nails! For Minnie The Mooo-cher is a genuine show girl alright! She climbs on her pedestal and dreams of performing in the finest theatres of the world, but for now she will have to make due with my DIY concert hall, LOL! Oh, wat een ellende deze week bij het updaten van Windows 8.0 naar 8.1... vroeger was je blij met een hoger rapportcijfer, nou deze keer dus écht niet hè! Moest alles weer resetten, opnieuw de software installeren en bestanden herstellen. Was dus balen, dus ff geen updates meer voor mij! Is maar goed dat het drukke seizoen achter de rug is bij ons! 
Vandaag hebben we bij Vintage Udfordring weer een nieuwe uitdaging voor je, "Vintage Kerst". Doen jullie gezellig mee, want je kunt voor 300 NOK (Noorse Kronen) aan stempels winnen! Hier is mijn sneeuwdame:
Oh my, such misery this week... I've had such a frustrating upgrade from Windows 8.0 to 8.1... There once was a time at school when I was happy to receive higher grades, well let me tell you that that wasn't the case this time! I had to reset everything, install all the software again and I even had to recover data. So that really s.....d! I'll refrain from updates for the time being, that's for sure! My today's card is made with some of the older but still super gorgeous dies and I promise to come and pay you a visit asap, it's just awfully busy at work at the mo but I just HAD to share this intel with you girls! We gaan even de diepte in vandaag, we hebben allemaal verschillende dingen die we belangrijk vinden het leven, voor mij zijn dat liefde (love), het leven (life) en geluk (happiness), in die volgorde. Want zonder liefde is het leven waardeloos en zonder geluk zou je niet van het leven houden. Voor sommigen is dat geld, succes en status, anderen kiezen wellicht voor familie of vrienden. Welke sleutel zouden jullie uitkiezen? De tekstovalen zijn gemaakt in Word. Waarom zwart/wit? Niks is toch zwart/wit? En het beetje rose? Een leven zonder kleur is toch ook maar saai?

Let's get philosophical ;-) I have a couple of key questions for you. We all have different things that we value most in life, for me these would be Love, Life and Happiness. In that particular order, for without Love, Life would be worthless, and without Happiness you wouldn't Love Life. For some it would be money, success and status, others might choose family or friends. Which keys would you pick? I made the ovals in Word and why the choice for white/black? Nothing really is, is it? Hence the dash of pink, for what would life be if we didn't have any colour in it!

Holiday Home

De meesten van jullie zijn denk ik inmiddels al wel bekend met de prachtige afbeeldingen van Nicecrane Designs. Ignacio had me gevraagd om in het Design Team te komen, maar dat zou ik helaas qua tijd (andere DT's en werk) niet gaan redden. Zo lief, want ik mocht een 'permanente guest designer' zijn, wat betekent dat ik iets mag plaatsen wanneer ik wil. Ik kwam deze leuke pipowagen tegen op internet en zou 'm zó in de tuin willen zetten! Maar een miniatuurtje leek me ook wel grappig en heb hem dus in het klein gemaakt met het nieuwe papier van de Action:

Most of you will probably be familiar with the gorgeous images of Nicecrane Designs. I was invited by Ignacio to join the Design Team, but unfortunately I was unable to (due to other DTs and my job). And then Ignacio kindly allowed me to become a 'permanent guest designer', meaning that I can put up something whenever I like or have time. I came across this lovely 'caravan' on the internet and wouldn't mind having it in our backyard!  But I thought a miniature version would look cute, too, so I made a smaller version with new papers from Action:

Walk In Closet

Wat is het alweer een tijd geleden dat ik iets heb geplaatst! Maar de laatste tijd heb ik het ongelooflijk druk gehad met werken en kwam er van bloggen helaas niet veel. Gelukkig heb ik de meesten van jullie gisteravond al bezocht en heb ik weer lekker kunnen genieten van al het moois wat jullie hebben gemaakt! En dan wil ik mijn blogvriendin Dawn van Paper Stamp Scissors nogmaals hartelijk bedanken voor de mooie stempel die ik bij haar heb gewonnen! Hij is superleuk!

Butterflies are self-propelled flowers...

Vandaag begint de nieuwe uitdaging bij Vintage Udfordring; we willen heel graag jullie zomerse creaties met vlinders zien! En uiteraard in het vertrouwde vintage-stijltje ;-) Voor mijn kaart heb ik mijn favoriete zomerkleuren uit de kast getrokken, in de zomer draag ik nou eenmaal het allerliefste wit óf turquoise/zeegroen. En het was weer tijd voor de tweemaandelijkse swap tussen Odetta en mij. Odetta had het thema bedacht: een zomerse bloemengroet. Ben begonnen met het beinkten van een witte kaart met de kleur Glacier Ice van Color Box en heb daarna diverse stempels gezet met allerlei kleuren (Memento Toffee Crunch, Versa Magic Magic Mauve/Turquoise Gem). Een vlinder op vellum, wat frantage erbij, klaar! Vandaag weer een warm dagje voor de boeg, dus dat wordt iets wits aan ;-) met een paar felgelakte neonroze nagels erbij ha ha ha! Help: ik moet ze nog lakken! En ik sta op het punt om naar klanten te gaan, oef! Gauw opschieten dus, bedankt voor het langskomen!

Today our new challenge begins @ Vintage Udfordring; we'd very much like to see your summer creations with butterflies! And of course these should be vintage style ;-) For my card I went with my favourite colours; in summer I love to wear white or turquoise/sea green. Furthermore, it was high time Odetta and I had a new swap again, so she set the theme: a summer card with flowers. I started off inking a white card with Glacier Ice from Color Box and stamped a whole series of stamps with all kinds of different colours (Memento Toffee Crunch, Versa Magic Magic Mauve/Turquoise Gem). A butterfly on vellum, a little touch of frantage, voilà! We've got a hot day ahead of us, so I'll be wearing something white today ;-) with a couple of matching neon pink nails, LOL! Oh dear: I still need to polish my nails! And I'm about to leave home to visit customers, argh! I've got to hurry, bye bye, thanks for watching!

Maar ik heb ook nog wel iets gemaakt hoor ;-) Een tijdje geleden had ik een challenge gewonnen bij het zeer gevarieerde City Crafter challenge blog met deze creatie en werd door Kirsty gevraagd om deze week hun gast designer te zijn. Altijd superleuk om iets voor dit geweldige blog te maken, het zijn zulke getalenteerde en leuke meiden! Het thema van deze week is On The Road, dit is de inspiratiefoto. But I did make a little something for today ;-) A while ago I won a challenge over at the very versatile City Crafter's challenge blog with this creation and I was invited by Kirsty to be this week's guest designer. It's always major fun to be able to create something for this wonderful blog, for the girls are so talented and supersweet! Dus dan neem je je mooie avondtoiletjes mee in een heuse echte Prada-koffer, want ja, the Devil wears Prada ;-) En laten we eerlijk zijn, de jurken uit de jaren '40/'50 waren zoooooo vrouwelijk! Hier vind je de template voor het koffertje dat ik heb gemaakt van het mooie papier van Teresa Collins (Far and Away). Niks mooier dan reizen en de wereld verkennen, dus ik ben er weer vandoor, Bon Voyage! En bedankt dat jullie me weer wilden hebben meisjes!

When you're travelling, you should be doing it in style, right? So you'll be taking your pretty evening dresses in a genuine Prada suitcase, for we all know that the Devil wears Prada ;-) And let's be honest, the dresses from the 40-ies and 50-ies were soooooo much more feminine! Here you can find the template that I used for making the suitcase; I used the lovely papers from Teresa Collins (Far and Away). There's nothing I like better than travelling and exploring the world, so I'm gone again, Bon Voyage! And thanks for having me again girls!

A Rose Garden...

Ik was achterin de tuin wat bloemen aan het plukken om op vaas te zetten, 3 x raden wie ik daar ook tegenkwam, ja ja, onze eigen Marie Antoinette ;-) Ik zeg, meid, wat leuk dat je langs komt! Heb je zin in thee met cake erbij, ach ja, zegt ze, 'let us eat cake', waarom niet. Afijn, we zitten gezellig te keuvelen, heb ik haar meteen gevraagd om even te poseren voor de verjaardagskaart voor mijn vriendin, staat ze er niet elegant op? Het prachtige romantische, bloemrijke papier van First Edition (Floral Pavilion) paste perfect bij haar. View from a Paris window...

Mijn voorliefde voor vintage zal de meesten van jullie niet zijn ontgaan, ook al plaats ik wel eens iets anders, gewoon voor de afwisseling. Dus jullie begrijpen dat mijn blijdschap groot was toen ik door Nina van Vintage Udfordring werd gevraagd om hun DT te komen versterken! Iedere 2 weken is er een nieuwe challenge, deze week is het thema "Embossing". Voor mijn bijdrage heb ik gekozen voor een langwerpige kaart van 15x30cm. Wanneer je in Parijs rondloopt, zie je al die prachtige ramen en ik vraag me altijd af wat voor verhalen zich daar achter bevinden. Zo ben ik hier op gekomen: ik heb diverse embossing mallen gebruikt en deze vervolgens gecombineerd met diecuts. De afbeeldingen zijn van Pion Design. Heb zowel de achtergrond als de gestanste delen nog heel licht gedistressed met Frayed Burlap.

My love for anything vintage will not sound foreign to you most of you, even though I sometimes place different styled creations on my blog, just for a change. So you will understand my huge happiness  when Nina of Vintage Udfordring asked me to join their DT! There's a new challenge every 2 weeks, this week the theme is "Embossing". My contribution is a rectangular card, which measures 15x30 cms. Walking around Paris, seeing all these beautiful windows always makes me wonder what stories lie behind them. Hence my card: I used several embossing folders and combined these with diecuts. Images are from Pion Design. I slightly distressed the background and die cuts with Frayed Burlap.

Mother's Day Flowers

Vandaag Moederdag. Altijd weer een bijzondere dag voor alle moeders, ook al zou het natuurlijk iedere dag gewoon Moederdag moeten zijn (ook al heb ik zelf geen kinderen). Ik heb helaas geen moeder meer die ik kan verwennen, maar dat wil niet zeggen dat ik er niet bij stil sta. Wou vandaag ook mijn moeder symbolisch bloemen geven en heb deze Franse bloemenkar voor haar gemaakt, vol met bloemen, precies zoals ze het graag zag. Alles is gemaakt met behulp van stansen, hieronder zal ik precies vertellen met welke. De basis van de kar is gemaakt met de Spellbinders Nestabilities Timeless Rectangles. Misschien een leuk cadeautje voor jezelf vandaag: wat mooie nieuwe stansen? Teresa van My Crafty Heart heeft buiten een grote collectie aan o.a. Today is Mother's Day. Always a special day for every mother, although it should be Mother's Day every day, of course (even though I don't have any kids). Unfortunately my mother passed away several years ago and so I cannot spoil her anymore, but that doesn't mean I'm not thinking about her. I wanted to symbolically give my mom some flowers and so I made her this French flower cart, filled with all kinds of flowers, exactly how she liked them. Every single piece is made with dies, I'll sum up which ones I used below. I made the base of the cart with Spellbinders Nestabilities Timeless Rectangles. French Ballet Cabinet

Niet zo lang geleden heb ik dit Franse theatertje gemaakt, maar achter de coulissen gebeurt er natuurlijk nog veel meer. Voordat de show kan beginnen, moeten de kostuums worden gecontroleerd en klaar gehangen. Vond dus dat er een klein cabinetje bij moest komen voor de tutuutjes van de ballerina's. Er zijn weer fantastisch nieuwe Spellbinders uit en hiermee heb ik het kastje gemaakt, ook de kastdeurtjes. Ga gauw kijken bij My Crafty Heart, want er zijn weer zulke gave stansen verkrijgbaar, ik heb de mijne al besteld! De jurkjes zijn gemaakt met het prachtige nieuwe lint van Melissa Frances.

Not so long ago I made this little French theatre. But of course so much more is going on backstage. Before the show begins, costumes need to be checked and prepared. So I thought it would be totally neat to make a small French ballet cabinet for the ballet tutus. Recently Spellbinders has released some fantastic new dies and I used these to make this cabinet, including the cabinet doors. Why don't you go and check out the new dies @ My Crafty Heart, I ordered them as soon as I saw them! I made the dresses with the beautiful Melissa Frances Ribbons.

Behind the Mask of Marie Antoinette

Wat spannend moet dat vroeger zijn geweest! Naar een bal masqué, je mooiste jurk aan en daarbij een passend masker. Goed, die pracht en praal is niet meer, maar wij hebben hier in het zuiden des lands nog altijd Carnaval ;-) Dus mochten jullie iemand op straat tegen komen met dit masker op, dan ben ik dat hi hi!! Ik heb een masker uitgeknipt uit stevig wit karton en daar roze kant overheen geplakt, de randen met parelband afgezet en bij een Marie Antoinette masker mogen de veren en prachtige swirls natuurlijk niet ontbreken. Fijne carnaval gewenst voor de echte vierders!!
Must have been really exciting way back, being invited to a masquerade ball, getting to wear your most beautiful dress and the right mask. Alas, those days of splendour and pompous luxury are long gone, but we Dutch (at least the southerners of our country) get to celebrate Carnival (Mardi Gras)! So if by any chance you see someone out there in the streets wearing this mask it's me, LOL! From white cardboard I cut out a mask and applied pink lace all over it and attached pearl ribbons. And a Marie Antoinette mask obviously needs the abundance of feathers and swirls. Happy Carnival to those celebrating!!
