When I think of nine, I think - wow half of my time with his is over. What an amazing ride the first nine years have been with this boy, I can't wait to see what the next nine hold!
He has grown up a lot this last year. He still loves sports and football is still by far the favorite. But he has branched out a bit and become a real fan of NBA basketball, college basketball, and MLB baseball. He thoroughly enjoyed the olympics and soaking up all the statistics that went with them. His improvement in school this year has been amazing. His struggles with writing and dysgraphia are still there but he has come a very long way. I'm going to chalk that up to determination from his teacher, himself, and I. In addition to math, He has come to really love social studies, geography, and science. He also enjoys writing enough now that he regularly writes and illustrates books! He loves his baby brother but definitely does not think we need any more babies around here :) He enjoys playing outside and is usually shooting hoops, riding his bike, or throwing around a ball of some sort. He also loves to play Mariokart on the Wii with Cooper. He does amazingly well with Cooper. He loves his illustrated Bible and lately has been spending a lot of time soaking that up. He also enjoys reading chapter books in general. He has a clear sense of right and wrong and applies that to situations...even little ones where we probably don't need to worry about who's right :) He loves music and has been working on a list for me to make him a cd. His top two songs are "Father Welcomes" from the Lutheran Hymnal and "That's what makes you Beautiful" by One Direction (if that doesn't make you smile, nothing will :)) He likes to make lists or brackets and narrow things down to his favorites. His own personal quiet time is very important to him...he usually gets up before everyone in the family just so he can have espn all to himself. He usually looks for some of that time in the evening also. He loves peanut butter and has a pb & j sandwich every day. He has a huge appetite but is as skinny as a rail. He still loves to give hugs and snuggles and I will keep enjoying them for as long as he will keep sharing them!
