Timmy is super into the show Bibleman. It's a little over his head as far as topics go but I think he enjoys the overall concept of a superhero. We don't let him watch other superhero shows, but decided this one was okay. He's been saving up his money to get a Bibleman costume. We found one the other day and let him get it. He's been wearing it for much of the last 48 hours. He said he really likes to wear the mask outside because it keeps his nose warm!

Packing to move???
Despite the fact that we regularly assure him we are staying in our new home for a long time, poor Timmy is still convinced we are going to be moving again soon. Today when I got boxes out to pack up Christmas Decor he asked if I was packing those up to move to our new house. I of course explained that they were just getting packed up til next Christmas. I guess he's still figuring this moving thing out.

Cleaning instead of a vacation?
The last week I have been longing for a vacation. I'm realizing that we probably need to schedule a vacation post-Christmas each year. Last year we went to Florida to visit Christopher and it was such a nice, relaxing break from reality.
Today instead of a vacation I have been cleaning. Ben's parents are coming in town and on Friday I have a Close to My Heart Open House. Both mean my house needs to be cleaner than it has been! I started the morning in the kids rooms where they were incredibly helpful. Okay, wait, Timmy was helpful and Lucy at least didn't make too many additional messes! Timmy has gotten quite good with the central vacuum. The three of us ended up getting four rooms cleaned up great!

So this is winter
I don't think before the last month I truly comprehended why so many people dislike winter! Although it has been icy, snowy, and oh so cold; I actually am still enjoying winter. But if cold is not your thing I can definitely see where you would dread this weather.
Wednesday we enjoyed a snowfall of about 4 inches, followed by an arctic blast of cold air. Yesterday our temperature didn't go above -9. Today was a little warmer-driving home tonight it was -5. Thankfully the wind has been minimal, keeping the wind chill moments reasonable. We did hear a forecast that said the wind chill was -39.
I personally am looking forward to more snow, less ice, and slightly warmer temperatures. In the meantime I am thankful for a very well insulated home!

2009 Resolutions
A friend of mine put her resolutions in her blog last year. Then she posted again how it went. I enjoyed reading about her successes and struggles. It's nice to be reminded that even those who appear as super moms have things they want to improve on. She inspired me to create a list. Maybe putting these things down will help me to remember them better!

1-Read thru the whole Bible
2-Read one book a month (not a children's book :))
3-Play, with no interruptions or distractions at least 1/2 hour a day with the kids (you'd think this would be easy as a stay-at-home mom--it's not!)
4-Read at least three books a day to the kids
5-Spend one evening a month with just Ben
6-Learn to cook vegetables in new, more appealing ways (I always have a cooking goal for the year--last year was baking)
7-Exercise at least three days a week
8-Teach Timmy to read
9-Drink more water than anything else daily
10-Spend at least 2 hours a week scrapbooking (this is what keeps me sane!)
