Bender formed in Milwaukee in 1994. The band released their debut album Joe independently in 1995 and began playing local shows. In 2000 Bender released Jehovah's Hitlist on TVT Records. The tracks "Isolate" and "Superfly" were featured in the video game ATV Offroad Fury for PlayStation 2. Superfly was also in MTV Sports Pure Ride for PlayStation 2. Isolate was featured in a Laird Hamilton surfing video which has amassed 7 million views on YouTube. It also appeared in Warren Miller's Cold Fusion skiing movie. "Angel Dust" appeared in the film 3000 Miles to Graceland, while Superfly was featured in Scary Movie. The unreleased track "Never Gonna Fly" appeared in National Lampoon's Van Wilder. Bender toured with Nickelback, 3 Doors Down, and other major acts from 2000-2001. The band broke up in 2002 and briefly reunited in 2009 to write new material.
