About to Go on Hiatus....

image
Hello Lovelies!  Here's the last post for a good few weeks- maybe months!  We are moving and today I am packing up all my lovely card making supplies.  I am so sad.  Not to be moving but to be putting all my crafty goodness into boxes.  Once I am unpacked and settled we will be back in business.  Until then I leave with the last thing I made in my old house.  Its one of a set of science cards that will be given to my daughter's science teacher.  I used stamps from There She Goes.  I love this set even more than I love PTI's science set.  Its my absolute fave.  I colored with copics and added stickles and called it done!  Thanks for stopping in!

Floral Gift Set (Inspired by...)

Hi friends!  I have a new gift set for you today.  I got the idea for this set after watching this video from Kristina Werner.  I fell in love with that envelope.  In fact, I made the envelopes before I even had an idea of what to do with the cards.
Untitled
I used PTI's Floral Frenzy and Fillable Frames for these cards and envelopes.  The sentiment is from Mini Blooms.  Floral Frenzy is an older set and I have certainly gotten my money's worth from it.  A great addition to any collection.
UntitledI
The color pallet is New Leaf, Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise, Berry Sorbet, and Hawaiian Shores (all PTI).  Cardstock and ribbons are from PTI as well.  The cards have diamond stickles on the centers of the flowers.
Untitled
A close up of the back envie flap and the front of the card.

All sets need great packaging.  This set is seriously on its way out the door today so I needed a quick package for it.  I am using a clear box that some PTI stamps came in.  I used Washi tape (doodlebug) to cover up where the sticky from the belly bad was.  I used some May arts twine to tie on the tag.
Untitled
Back side of the gift set.   The tag (in the previous pic) was made from an Ad Sense die that I cut in half (it was blank and laying on my desk and got pressed into service! LOL).  Thanks for stopping in today!

One Card 4 Ways

Hello!  Happy New Year's Eve!  Its the last post of 2012!  I had a little crafty time the other day and I ended up using the same image 4 ways.  I snapped some photos and thats what I have for you this evening.  For all versions I am using PTI cardstock in white and blueberry sky.  I am using versamark ink, white embossing powder, blueberry sky ink, and pure poppy ink.  The image is from PTI Through the Trees.  The tag is from hero arts.  The sentiment is from PTI Through the Trees.
P1070685
Version One:  For version one I matted the image on white card and rounded the corners.  I adhered the tag to the bottom of the image.  I wrapped the twine (Crate and Barrel) around the card several times and tied a bow.  I added red stickles to the bird.  I used red bling on the flowers (hard to see the red in these pics- sorry I am no photographer).
 P1070684
Version Two:  I broke the rule of three by only having one red thing (the bird).  I covered the bird in stickles.  I added blue bling at the bottom.
 P1070683
Version Three:  I used my snowflake CB folder on the base.  I added blueberry sky grosgrain ribbon and red buttons.  I covered the bird in stickles.
 P1070682
Version Four:  I think this may be my favorite.  I used swiss dot CB folder on the base.  I rounded the base corners and also the blue corners.  I covered the bird in stickles and added stickles to the flower centers.  I used saddle stitch pure poppy ribbon.

Well what do you think?  Which is your favorite?  I have to say since I did all the stamping first and embossed all at once these came together very quickly.  Might make a nice giftset.  All you would need is a little box or something.  Thanks as always for stopping by!  I hope 2013 is good to you!

Gift Set

Good Morning Friends!  I have a quick little share with you today.  Horrid pictures!  Sorry!  Took them with my iphone the other day.  I tried to edit them a bit but really I never intended to post them, LOL!
IMG_1586
This is a set I made for my mom to give her friend.  I printed the sentiment on with my computer and then stamped the rest using PTI's Year of the Flowers Mini's and some echo park paper.

Matching lined envies to finish it off!  Its post and run cause I got work!  Thanks for stopping by!

Using Up the Old

Good Morning Friends!  I have a couple more cards for you from the set I made the other day.  I love that I was able to clear out a huge batch of patterned paper and older cardstock to get these made.  Not only that I was able to incorporate the matching chipboard stickers that I paid a good sum for and then never used.  A couple of tips: gather your old pp and your matching embellies before you start so you can see what you have to work with.  Add in anything else that might go well.  I picked out some coordinating ribbon and some matching PTI cardstock.  Look in your stamp collection to see what might go well for envies and sentiments.
 P1070343
On this card you can see the big chipboard sticker is my focal point.  Unfortunately the middle of the sticker has some silly word on it that I would have never added to a card, not in a million years.  So I went and found a punch to match the size of the center circle.  I punched a piece of coordinating paper and I stamped it with a sentiment I do like.  Then I just glued it right over the top!  And now its exactly as I wanted it.

P1070344
Below is another card where I did the same thing.  I cut a square to cover up the old (and ridiculous) sentiment and then added a new one with my stamps.  Fun and frugal!

Patterned Paper Gift Box Set

Good Morning Friends! I have a boxed gift set today to share with you.  I edited all these pictures last night and then added a watermark and it appears I did not save it properly.  ACK!  So please forgive my unedited pictures.  I have two sets of cards and because of the pictures I will share the second set and second box tomorrow.  I also have some basic instructions on how to make the box.  I created it myself although I am sure there are similar things out there on the web.
P1070326
Both boxes are pictured above.   I made the yellow one first and then refined some things with the orange one.  All the patterned paper is from the WeRMemory Keepers White Out collection.  Its really old.  I know this because the price tag was on the back of the chipboard stickers and its from a scrapbook store that went out of business at least two years ago, if not more.
 P1070327
I have always loved that paper and I am so glad I got a chance to use up a ton of it here.  The box is made from 12x12 bazzill cardstock.  The tag uses the PTI tag sale die.  Ribbon and inks are from PTI.
 P1070328
Inside the box.  Its quite roomy.  The lid is nice and tall.  One refinement on the new box is an inner rim to facilitate opening and closing the box.  I will point that out tomorrow.
 P1070329
Card one:  Lots of patterned paper, ribbon and a cardstock sticker.  The CS stickers all had really stupid things printed on them.  So I covered the words with paper and stamped my own sentiments!  I used Fillable Frames, Framed Out and Across the Miles.
 P1070330
Same idea different embellies.
 P1070332
Same idea here as well.  You can also see the envelopes I made to coordinate.
 P1070335
Close up of the cardstock sticker.  I added the banner across to change out the lame sentiment to make it a thank you card.

Tomorrow I will be back with the other box, the rest of the cards, and a few tips on how to make the box if you are interested.  This was a great way to burn through my 12x12 stash.

Lovely Layers Card Set with Quick and Easy Packaging!

Hello friends!  Well I made it back from Southern California where the hubby and I took the kids to Disneyland for a few days.  I have crafted exactly one thing since then and here it is!
 P1070306
It's a card set using the PTI stamp set, Lovely Layers.  I also have the dies for this set and used them here as well.  Most of the ink is PTI but there are some dew drops mixed in as well.
 P1070307
This pink card was the first one I made.  I love the mulitcolored sentiment.  When I was done with this card I liked it so much I decided to make a set.  Whenever I make a set I do up the envies too so that is what you see on the bottom.  Its the back flap.  I also added stickles to the focal point for a little glitz.
 P1070308
In Summer sunrise and golden harvest here....
 P1070309
Hawaiian shores and aqua mist....
 P1070310
Winter wisteria and plumeria dew drop....
 P1070311
The inside of the card needed a little something as well.
P1070312
I've got some notes for you on the picture.  I finally learned how to use the text feature in PSE and now I am out of control!
 P1070313
Thanks so much for stopping in today.  I am off to see my good friends on the East Coast soon and then after the 24th the blog will resume a more normal posting schedule!

Guidelines Gift Set

Hello friends! I have another card set for you today. This one is for one of my children's teachers. I decided to pull out a few old sets that I really love for these cards- The Guidelines series from Papertrey Ink.
 P1070143
Here is the whole set all together. Its a set of four cards and four decorated envelopes. P1070142 This card has a color scheme of Golden Harvest and Summer Sunrise. The button is from Doodlebug (probably the only non-papertrey item in the whole set!) P1070141 This card has a color scheme of Spring Moss, Ripe Avocado, and Simply Chartreuse. I used Spring Moss (old pigment formula) and Simply Chartreuse inks (new formula). P1070140 This card is Spring rain and Blueberry Sky. The blueberry sky ink is a bit darker than the cardstock but I really like it. Its one of my favorite inks. These are both the new formula. P1070139 This card is aqua mist (old pigment formula) and Hawaiian shores (new formula). The new Hawaiian shores is a perfect match. I hate all the hit and miss with the inks. I will say though that I have never tried an ink brand where at least a few of the colors were duds. If you know of a brand that has perfect ink across the board I want to hear about it! (Unless its pigment- I hate pigment). P1070138
This is the box they are housed in. I made the base with Hawaiian Shores and stamped it with guidelines 1. I made the lid from linen vellum cardstock. The tag is a combo of Just for You and Giga Guidelines. Ribbon is aqua mist. P1070137 One more view of the box. You can see the stamping better here. Well thanks for stopping by today! I am hoping to participate in WMS blog hop tomorrow so I hope to see you back here then!

Waltzingmouse Gift Set

Hello friends!  If you liked yesterday's card, then you will like today's post.  If yesterday's card didn't do it for you- avert your eyes!  LOL!  Anyway I liked the WMS sketch card so much that I made a complete set in different colors.  I added matching envelopes and a little box to put them all in. P1070130 The whole group and the matching envelopes. That is one of WMS label sets used on the envelopes. On the back flap I used the little bird again. P1070128
In yellow here. I also changed up the sentiments. P1070127
A close up of the pink card. P1070125
The box I made to house them in. The colors look a little off here, not sure why. Maybe it needs to go back to photoshop! LOL

Teeny Trees with Hand Drawn Frames

Good Morning friends! I have a little set of cards I made the other day with Teeny Trees. Untitled
They all have the same layout and then I just switched up the colors and the sentiments.  I am using a kraft base.  The trees are stamped in kraft ink, the tops in new leaf.  The little hearts were die cut from echo park paper.  I hand drew the frames with white gel pen and a T-square.  I hand wrote the sentiments.
 Untitled
This one is my favorite.  I love the polka dot paper.  One of the few I have used all up!
 Untitled
This is my least favorite because I wasn't paying attention and capitalized the sentiment.  grrr!  Thanks for stopping in!  I hope you have a great day!

Make a Wish Gift Set

Hello there friends! Twice in a work week- wow I am impressing myself! Ha ha! Anyway I have a gift set that I made the other day for you all to take a look at. P1060970
This is the original card and envie that I made.  I was playing with Star Prints and then I pulled out a couple of older sets that also have stars (Its a Celebration and Everyday Classics).  The big sentiment is from Think Big Sentiments.  I wanted a totally flat card for my set.  Most people don't like to pay extra postage for big funky bows.
 P1060967
This is the packaging.  I used a box that my stamps came in to hold the envies and cards.  I wrapped it with a belly band made of Doodlebug patterned paper. I added a bow, a die cut star, and a handmade label (Just for You set).
 P1060966
Then last week's MIM came out and I thought this was the perfect card to "layer up". I wanted to do it three ways but alas I only got to two and even then I missed the MIM deadline. But here is what I have:  Same basic layout with some of the stars stamped twice and popped up with foam.  Then I got out some bling and went to town.  Thats tiny star bling on the polkadot green star.  So cute.
