Shermaine starting solid food

This is what Shermaine is capable of doing now. New stunt for a new year. She can now turn to her tummy and vice versa with such a breeze, no effort like. She's sure growing up well, in fact I noticed that her appetite has grown like almost double. Maybe it's a sign that I should start her on solid food soon. In fact, I steamed a small potato with some carrot today for her, and she loves it to bits. Starting solid at 5 months, 1 week and 2 days old. I guess it's about time this little chick starts to eat. And man, she just grabs everything she come across and put it in her mouth.

Life as a mother

One of the most significant changes about being a mother to a newborn baby is the lack of sleep. Or rather, limited uninterrupted sleep. Gone were the days where I can sleep straight for a good 6 hours or without anyone waking me up for milk. But I guess that's normal. My baby girl is probably the most easy going baby ever, she only wakes up one time for milk in the middle of the night. That really saves me lots of time and effort is trying to wake up to feed her milk.

As I look at my newborn baby, I can't help but think how long is it going to take to raise her till she's independent enough to do things on her own. At least, until she starts schooling, that time I'll find myself with different worries. Worrying if she's growing well or if she'll do well in school etc. Life as a mother is never easy eh. How I wish to get some free Disney World Tickets so I could bring the kids to Disney World for a day of great fun without a worry in the world. ::Wishful thinking::

Increasing breast milk suppy

i really don't know what else works. I tried every remedy, from the papaya with pig's tail soup to the milkmaid tea, but none of the above seems to work magic on me, or may I say on my boobs. Seriously, this time throughout this confinement period, I never once experience breast engorgement. Not even once!

And as a last straw, I finally bought fenugreek supplement. Keeping my fingers crossed this time, this is going to boost my breast milk production.

Introducing baby girl, Shermaine

Introducing baby girl, Shermaine.

Sorry I should have posted this much earlier, but haven't got the time to sit down to blog. It's hard to find time to even take a nap. Which is why everytime baby is asleep, I will try as much as possible to sleep too. But nevertheless, I'm really proud of my baby girl, she's such an easy going baby, no fuss at all. Thank God for that.

Keepsake for baby girl

I'm so excited, you know why? Since my gynae will be on leave from the 7-15th September, he's unable to perform the c-section on my scheduled date which is on the 9th of September. So, we rescheduled the operation earlier to the 4th which means there's only another week to go! Honestly, I've been feeling quite heavy lately, and feeling like a log. My movement are restricted, so I'm trying to slow down and minimize my activities. Well, my gynae told me that my amniotic fluid level is a little high above normal range, so that kind of explained the heaviness I'm experiencing right now. So, his advice will be an earlier c-section which I totally agreed on. Given that my thighs, they itches so badly, I'm hoping it'll go away right after the baby is born. Can't take the itchiness anymore.

I'm not the only one excited about the arrival of this new baby girl, hubby, Shern and the rest of my family are really looking forward to this day too. I am thinking maybe I should get both Shern and the baby a gift each, and when the baby is born, I'll tell my son that his baby sister has a i-love-you-brother gift for him and vice versa. Maybe that way, he won't feel threaten anyway with a newborn around. You know how much attention a newborn needs, we didn't want him to feel abondoned in any way.

Baby's grandfather even has a special gift ready for his first grand daughter in the family. I can imagine how much joy this baby will bring into this family. Maybe I should also get a gift for my baby girl. Perhaps a gold bracelet or maybe a rare gold coins for keepsake. What do you think? I personally prefers to buy gold as it is a good investment and the value of good can only increase over time.Especially if you were to buy Monaco Rare Coin, it helps you locate the best, highest-quality rare coins available at best prices, thereby maximizing your rare coin investment dollars. It's sure worth every dollar investing in gold, right?

I've got my hands full!

I've been pretty occupied with my sick child, my new blogshop- Bucketload and oh, did I tell you we'll be moving house soon? You can imagine how many boxes of stuffs I need to pack, didn't know we have so many things accumulated over the years until now! I figured we'll be chucking out lots and lotsa stuffs this time. Well, the rule of decluttering, stuffs you never used in over a year, out they go. Easier said then done. What if one day I might need it, and it's not available anymore? Isn't is a waste of money to buy it again? Tricky isn't it?

Anyway, baby girl will be due is about 3 weeks, unless baby decided to come out earlier. What hard work can I possibly do with a tummy this big? I'm trying not to overwork myself, not wanting to risk going into pre-term labour, or stressing myself out. Better take it easy for now.

A much needed getaway..

Phew! I'm glad that I'm now in the last trimester of this pregnancy. If you have been following my blog, then you should know that I have some issues with my back and my butt. I have this condition called Pelvic Girdle Pain ever since I was about 9 weeks pregnant. Now I'm already in my 33rd week so you imagine how much pain I've endured over the past 7 months.

So, this thing called Pelvic Girdle Pain is caused by
the softening, along with postural changes, muscle weakness and differences in the movement occurring between the left and right pelvic joints can cause too much stress on the joints, ligaments and muscles of the pelvis. There's no cure for this pain and it can only worsen as the pregnancy progresses.

I'm so looking forward
to the birth of my little baby girl in early September, to be able to hold her in my arms. After a month long confinement period, I hope hubby and I will be able to spend some time with our kids alone, perhaps to bring them on a family vacation. Talking about vacation, we haven't had one for a very long time already. I'll definitely suggest Azul Beach Hotel at Riviera Maya. I've read tonnes of good review on them and how the place has family-friendly amenities, perfect for a family like us. If it's just the two of us, maybe we'll even consider going to Hidden Beach Resort. LOL.

A girl and a boy

I'm in my 27th weeks of pregnancy now, how time flies when you don't count the days. But as for my darling son, he is so impatient already, he has been asking me forever when his baby will be born. He said he waited so so long already, I should know that. Lately, he has been telling everyone that his baby sister will be born in 3 months time. I think he's more excited than we parents are. I know he'll be a very good big brother to his baby sister.

That reminds me, I still have lots of things I need to prepare for the birth of my baby girl. There are some hand-me-down baby items we can use, but still we need to buy lots of new baby clothes , baby accessories and baby gears. Especially now that I'm expecting a baby girl, the first baby girl in the family, I'm sure the baby girl will be spoil with dresses, nice princessy accessories and jewelry for girls. I even thought of buying a silver baby bracelet and necklace for my baby already. LOL.

Good thing about having a son and a daughter is that my son will get to inherit all his daddy's watches while our daughter gets to inherit all my jewelry, not that I have loads of it to give her. Nah. But it sure feels good and complete now that we have a son and a daughter. Just like my son said, only 3 months to go. I really need to get everything prepared before the birth of my baby girl.

Addition to our family

It's minutes past midnight, my son is sound asleep and here I am, enjoying the quietness and the peacefulness. Blogging without any distraction from the world. In a few months more, with the arrival of my baby girl, I'm sure I won't have the time to blog at midnight. Even if I can, I'm not sure whether I can stay up till midnight. I might have knocked out at 8 pm every night. Having a baby to take care of, I'm sure that'll take up almost all my time, 24/7. But nevertheless, I'm glad I'm having another baby soon. I'm sure my heart will have the capacity to accommodate and to love another little angel God has for me and my family. Can't wait for your arrival, darling baby girl.

PGP in second pregnancy

23 weeks pregnant and feeling the pain on my lower back and buttock is now a normal thing I have to deal with. Even as early as week 10 into this pregnancy, I already had this pain. My OB-GYN said to me that it's normal for some pregnancy women to experience this pain. It's called Pelvic Girdle Pain, it is thought that this softening, along with postural changes, muscle weakness and differences in the movement occurring between the left and right pelvic joints can cause too much stress on the joints, ligaments and muscles of the pelvis. The worst thing is this pain will not go away as the pregnancy progress but in fact it will worsen. OH MY!

I also found out that the pain is usually made worse by lying on the back, turning over in bed, walking and standing from a sitting position. It is often worse at night and the degree of night pain is probably be related to how active one is during the day.

This is so true in my case, I got to refrain from lying down on my bed when I sleep, a sudden twist and turn will sent sharp pain through my legs and back. Sometimes when I walk too much, my butt hurts really badly. I'm hoping this pain will go away after pregnancy and everything will be back to normal. I'm sure walking with a rollator is not as fun as it looks. I need the freedom to run, jump and walk about.

Pregnant women are clumsy eater

Even with my first pregnancy, I noticed that pregnant woman or is it just me, tends to be clumsy when it comes to eating. I stained my tops so very often, even more as the pregnancy progress. Logically thinking, a pregnant woman has a bulging tummy, and therefore they tend to sit further away from the table and having to bend forward to eat. Maybe so, we pregnant women really do get clumsy and dirty.

Well, that's my theory. What do you think? Anything you want to share on this?

Baby at week 13

Every time I'm about the step in to the ob-gyn consultation room, I can't help but feel excited because I know I'm about the see my unborn baby through the scan. Just the black and white image showing a baby's heartbeat makes me want to cry. It is really that exciting. Here's a scan of my baby at 13 weeks, from a small pea sized baby just 4 weeks ago, my baby has grown human-like already. It gives me a warm feeling just knowing baby is developing well inside me. Thank God for that.

That's 500 bucks gone

Just got home after a long day out. We went to the hospital for my 3rd check-up and I'm happy to say that baby is growing so well despite the fact that my belly is not quite showing. My gynae told me that I've gained some weight but hello..400g don't count right. I can lose that weight after a pee and a poo. Seriously. Never mind, so long that the weight gain is not too dramatic.
I jokingly asked my gynecologist if it's too early to tell the sex of the baby (deep down inside, I'm hoping it's not too early to tell!), he said it's still to early and furthermore, baby's legs are positioned very close together. Oh well, never mind.

Oh, one more thing, there's glucose in my urine, which basically explains that my sugar level is quite high. So my gynae advised that I do self-monitoring for my glucose for the next couple of weeks, just in case he needs to put me on some medication. I've got a loan of the glucose monitoring device from the hospital for 320 ringgit, and my visit to the gynae cost 83 ringgit. That's like a whopping 500 bucks spent in just half a day, which includes our meal of course. Oh, money! So hard to earn, so easy to spend it. I need more morgan dollars.

After that, we went shopping, bought 2 panties. You know how all my clothes are starting to shrink, or rather I'm getting bigger as day passes. No thanks to the Sushi and Udon we had at sakae sushi before heading home. I used to be able to go out the entire day and not feel tired at all, but man, I'm so sleepy now already. I need a rest.

Babies of 2009

You know, one good thing about having sisters is that you can share all stuff, clothes and every else girlie. More if you're going to have a baby, you get all the hand-me-down baby stuffs like baby clothes, baby cot, baby walker, stroller and such.

But the thing now is, my eldest sister has just given birth to a baby boy. My second sister is expecting a baby somewhere in October this year and I, on the other hand, will be expecting a baby too this coming September. With so many babies born in the same year, there's really not enough of hand-me-down this time around, or rather passing around of baby's stuff.

So when I know that one of the blogger mom is selling off her baby cot for 300 bucks, I quickly grab it. I think that's a very good deal because she also offered me a baby latex pillow, a latex mattress, 2 sets of cot bumper and a mosquito net. For my first baby, I didn't spend a single dollar on buying baby's bedding because then everything was given to me by my sisters. My sister is so considerate to even let me have her brand new jogging stroller. Am I lucky or what?
With the arrival of three newborn babies, this is sure an exciting year for our family.

Gucci baby carrier

Who needs a gucci baby carrier? Not unless those kids of some filthy rich parents who doesn't mind splurging on a 895 dollar carrier. For that price, a baby stroller will be more worth paying for.

A carrier is still a carrier, no matter what brand it is. You still have to carry the weight of the baby on your shoulder no matter what.

Agree?

Twins: the new trend or what?

Oh, great. Twins are so in trend right now i bet. Marcia Cross, Julia Roberts had them. Then Jennifer Lopez just gave birth to two wonderful babies and now who? Sources confirmed Angelina Jolie is carrying Brad Pitts twins, and she's going to deliver the babies in France this time.

One question. Is it really that easy to conceive twins? I'm just wondering if it's by all means natural or maybe nowadays people don't mind popping a pill or two. Well, I mean fertility pills. Or IVF otherwise.
