Time for a change

The world is probably laughing at us Malaysian. Today, the Bersih protest rally turned ugly when the police used tear gas and water cannons to disperse the thousands and thousands of people assembling for a protest in the Kuala Lumpur.

What's wrong people? What's wrong with government? All the people want is a protest to urge the government to implement electoral reform and the police a.k.a the government gets all defensive and attacks the people. Do we need to call in for a liability claim from O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath – Personal Injury Lawyers – 808 West Avenue, Austin, TX. 78701 – 512-494-9949 for a Zoloft Lawsuit?

The news reports that only a thousand gathers, but come on, you and I know there are tens of thousands of people. Did they not mentioned the hundreds of protesters who are arrested for no good valid reason? Like all of a sudden, protest is against the law, not to mention the many oppositions who are squatting behind bars now.

The government are getting more and more ridiculous. What's next? One thing certain for me though, I'm so registering myself for the upcoming election. You know how to pick, the government or the opposition. People! Time for a change.

High living expenses

It's getting more and more expensive to live in the city nowadays. Eating out, a meal for a family easily cost 200! And we're not even talking about good, expensive 5 star hotel food. It's just a meal at a normal restaurant. What's more, the school fees for a 5 year old is much more expensive in the city compare to the urban areas, say $340 vs $80, and again, it's the normal standard school and not too international privatized ones. Sigh!

The worst thing is, while price for everything increases steadily like every quarter of the year, but not the people's earning. Many companies are very thrifty when it comes to salary increment, starting by 0.5percent. That's what my friend told me, and it happened to her company. How pathetic is that.
How I wish, earning money is as easy as collecting gold bullion that dropped down from the sky! ::Daydreaming::

The story about "subsidy" in Layman's term

This story was sent by my dearest sister to my inbox. I thought it's quite an interesting article to share.

A man called Maha owns a farm which can produce 10 apples every day. He has 5 workers to operate the farm. Each of them eats 1 apple daily and it is enough to keep them operating the farm normally. The remaining 4 apples, the landlord sells them at RM10 each and he earns RM40. He uses the RM25 to improve the farm operation and facilities. He gives RM2.00 to each of his workers and he keeps the remaining RM5.00 as profit. Day by day, the farm is well developed and all of the 5 workers are happy with the money they can save.

When Maha passed away and there is a new landlord, Abdul comes to
continue the farm operation. He says to the workers:" We need to improve the farm quality and
redefine our way of thinking.

From now on all of you only need to pay RM1.00 for each apple you eat.It is very cheap as the price is RM10 each outside the farm." The workers have no choice but to pay RM1.00 for the apple they eat daily. Their earning decrease from RM2.00 to M1.00 per person.

As usual, Abdul sells the 4 apples and he gets RM40. He uses RM25 for farm improvement and pays RM10 to his 5 workers. He gets RM5.00 as profit. On top of that, he gets another RM5.00 from the apples that he sells to his workers. In total, he gets RM10 as profit every day.

Soon, the apple price increases to RM20 each. The new landlord gets a higher profit as he gets RM80 for the 4 apples he sells daily. Then, he decides to give the farming improvement contract to one of his close friend, Samy. Samy says:"Apple cost naik, improvement cost also misti naik."
So, the farm improvement cost increases from RM25 to RM50. In actual fact, the improvement only cost RM30. The remaining RM20,Abdul and Samy share evenly among themselves.

Let's calculate how much Abdul gets daily:

RM10 (from farm improvement cost)
RM20 (Net profit by selling 4 apples: [Gross profit, RM80]
- [Improvement cost, RM50] - [Wages RM10] = RM20)
RM5 (from selling apples to his workers)

In total, Abdul gets RM35 daily compare to RM10 initially when he
takes over the farm from Maha. His profit increases RM25 and the workers are still getting RM1.00 daily per person. The greedy Abdul does not want to stop there.

One day, he says to his fellow workers:" You see ah, the current market price for one apple is RM20 and you are only paying RM1. See how lucky you are! I have to SUBSIDY RM19.00 for each of the apple you buy and total I need to SUBSIDY RM95.00. This will greatly burden the farm and we might get bankrupt if we
continue like this.

In order to avoid bankruptcy, I need to increase the apple price that you buy from RM1.00 to RM1.50 and I will bear the remaining RM18.50 per apple as my subsidy to you all." So, greedy Abdul adds RM2.50 to his current profit and the number becomes RM37.50.

After you have read the story, I am sure you have already understood the meaning of "SUBSIDY" given by the government. The RM95 subsidy never existed in the first place and so was the RM52 billion fuel subsidy generously "given" by the government. Cutting fuel subsidy is actually just a reason to steal money from your pocket.

Big time Inflation

Hubs was telling me this on our way home from dinner this evening. He's really feeling the pinch with the current 40% fuel hike. He normally pumps up $ 50 everytime he's at the gas station, even now that fuel is much more expensive. Meaning, he got to refill his tank basically everyday, and on days that he travels more frequent, it's more than just a trip.
I don't know about others, but right now, I think I can do with a very economical car, one with a very minimal fuel consumption. I'm sure most of the luxury car dealers are having a rough time selling their big expensive cars. Even the government is asking the citizen to go easy on spending their money. But to me, it's not so much a matter of spending, but rather it is to spend wisely. It doesn't matter if you get a second mortgage or borrow from a loan shark, but if you're spending more than your income, anyone will be in trouble no matter how bad or good the inflation is. Or how cheap or expensive the fuel is.

Is it not OK to get straight to the point?

Last evening, I got a call from someone looking for me, so I thought this must either be someone I know or she really has got some serious business with me. You know, like a call from the tele-banker telling me that my loan is almost due, because I always wait till the very last minute to just do just about anything. That's just me. But no, she's not calling on behalf of any bank, but a hotel, offering me a free 2 days 1 night stay at the 5 star hotel. When I asked if there's anything I have to do, like listening to a free talk, she said no. Well, so how do you explain it when she said that I need to be there with my husband (mind you, that's a must) to collect the voucher, and there's a 45 minutes wait while they do the voucher processing, meanwhile they'll just serve us refreshment. Sounds so catchy. They must either trained their staff that way, or they seriously need more staffs to handle their voucher processing department. Perhaps it'll be good for them to get help from the executive search firm. I'm not buying into her not-so-straight forward talks, I said, no thanks and hang up.

Impressive doesn't always cost a bomb

In the last exhibition I went, I was most impressed with the perfection of the exhibition in terms of layout and the organization as whole. It was sure a proved statement that the organizer had put in much effort in order to make the event a very successful one.

One of the things I note was how the organizers are willing to allocate an amount of money to make personalized trade show booths in their theme color. Besides that, they had their company banner stands placed in various places in the shopping mall to make aware the exhibition to the public. I must admit I was drawn to the exhibition by the banner.

The two days event was packed with people, because besides exhibiting their products, they also provide talks and stage event like lucky draw and games for the public. The Pipe and Drape of the stage was really impressive though it was a temporary one.

Such an event won't be so successful if no thorough planning has been made, it is wise to look for professional help when it comes to planning an exhibition, putting tiny details into consideration, even a personalized table skirts with your company logo will be worth exhibiting.

Claim back what you deserve

In this country, human rights is not something we talked about over a cup of coffee because very often, legal issues like that can take up to years to solve, not to mention a big hole in the pocket. But as the nation progresses, we see a lot of people coming forward to voice up, be it for a better change or a better life.

It's a sad thing to read in the papers where a man who lost his hands while operating the machinery at work is now his everyday living suddenly becomes a struggle. He no longer has the capability to provide for his family financially. The company he worked for, compensate him a few thousand dollars and sent him home. How not fair is that? How is he ever going to survive a lifetime with a mere few thousand dollars?

So it is a great thing to know that there are legal advisers out there who are willing to fight for your personal injury compensation service, with zero upfront legal fee. Be it a personal accidents or injuries at work, you can be sure that you are getting the Accident Compensation you deserved. What's more, it's a No win no fee agreement, so you lose nothing.

What's pretty in a resume?

Any wise and successful man will tell you the real business world is nothing you can read out of a book. In fact, many successful mogul didn't even finish high school, they are those who started young, they learned from their real life experience and they succeeded.

Having said that, a degree or any qualification is only a stepping stone for you to get to the real world. It somehow prepares you with some basic knowledge, but let's get real here. No matter what you do, no one starts a job without going through some in-house training Sales Courses. Especially for those in working as a salesman, you need to 'umph' factor, the kind of selling skills where you can actually sell ice to the Eskimos. What about that.

Like it or not, this is the real world. To survive in it, you will need more than just a degree looking pretty in your resume.

That house with the huge lawn

Isn't it amazing to hear that someone you know lives in a huge mansion valued over 1 million or 2, but not you? Just like me, you must be wondering where these people earned their big bucks and why cash just keeping rolling into their bank account? Oh, what an envy.

Now that the current economic is a little crippled, we cannot help but noticed how property price drops and how banks are really digging hard to lower their loan interest rates to woo potential property buyers. So for those with cash at hand, now is the best time to invest in your dream property.

Despite all possibilities, one thing is for sure. You got to know how to take advantage of the bank, like people who knows how to wrap the bank over their pretty fingers. Find your way to get the best rates for Homeowner Loans, preferably with a repayment amount and period you're comfortable with because you need your extra cash to roll.

Now does it all make sense how more and more people can afford to buy the mansion or even their dream cars? Absolutely yes with magicloans.

Suburbs, not just for desperate housewives

This is not a desperate housewife scenario. Big beautiful houses with a beautiful front yard maintained by the most handsome teenage boy in the neighbourhood. Everyone drives a posh car, miles and miles away from the bustling city. People sitting in front of their porch sipping english tea in the evening and kids car pool to school. Who wouldn't love that life?

In reality, more and more people are moving out of the city to the suburbs for a better improve quality of life, seeing that houses in the city are too expensive. People would rather trade a long commuter ride to work every single day in exchange for a bigger but cheaper mansion. Honestly, as for me, I won't even give a thought about moving into the suburbs where the air is cleaner. It will be a better place to live, especially for those family with kids.

Like it or not, based on a statistic given, every minute you travel away from the city, your house price is 1,000 dollar. The further you are away from the city, the cheaper your house is likely to be and not forgetting cheaper Mortgages. Love this idea of moving to the suburbs and be one of my neighbour at Wisteria lane?

Grab only the best deals

What's the greatest boom you've witness over the years? I cannot be wrong at this one. It must be the booming of the real estate market. Where ever you are, chances are high that the property market has doubled over the last couple of years.

It is just a natural step for people to be considering getting a house mortgages right now instead of just renting a unit. Being a first time buyer property buyer, I wish to get all the current mortgage quote available in the market, so as to get the best deal and advice before I invest my life-time saving into paying for the down payment buying a house. Normally, lenders offer preferential mortgage rates first time buyer so it is wise to make comparison amongst the mortgage deals available in the market as which offers the lowest arrangement fees, initial rates and subsequent rates.

If hubs get rich one day, we'll sure look into getting our own house there in UK since we have plans for our little boy to further his studies there in the UK. We could get a UK mortgage which is flexible for foreigners, one that offers the best mortgage to suit our needs.

a world with a thousand other possibilities

let's have a fair talk here. not all children are born with high intelligence. maybe some are very intelligent, but they do not have a good memory. it's still too tell if my 2 year old son is going to do well in school. like every other parent, also in my sweetest dream, he will be a straight A student.

but if it turns out otherwise, i won't be disappointed either. there are a thousand of things he might be better at. perhaps he's just like his father, whose passion lies with fast cars and huge machineries. only a man like his father owns a fleet of classes in his driving license, from a three-wheeler to the heavy trailer driver license. he has never been a crane driver or a lorry driver but his interest for heavy equipment made him wanting to learn to operate every single machinery available.

as for my son, every time we come across a crane or an excavator, he'll be asking me what does the crane lifts or what is the excavator digging from the ground. maybe then Equipment Operators Certification at ATS Equipment School might be an option to consider. as a mother, i don't see how my son becoming a heavy equipment embarrass me, so long as he has passion for his job and it makes him happy, i'll be proud of him.

get a loan without a payslip

in the newspaper today, i read about how the private banking sector are trying to help hawkers and small entrepreneurs to apply for home loan without the need for payslip prove. they will be accessed on-site based on their business turnover, even if they are just a hawker with a chicken rice stall.

with this big implementation, we can foresee many entrepreneurs taking up personal with good loan repayment terms. it's a good thing that now people with previous bad credit loans are able to get back on their feet financially. hopefully, this will help them rebuild their financial status.
