Visible Image Sunday

Hi Everyone

Hope you are all well and having a good weekend. Today is my birthday and I so as I explained I will have a competition starting Monday morning and it will run all week til Friday night and all you need to do is join the blog and leave me a comment on the competition post and at the end of Friday I will use random.org and choose a number and that person will get some lovely goodies in aid of me having a birthday this week and also for Thursday when I will be back on air at Create and craft. I will post all the times nearer to then.

So today as I said is my day to post for Visible Image and I received a lovely new character called Harley the Joker this week Thank you Helen and Mark, which will be great on men's cards, good luck cards, special events , teens and grown ups so I thought Id use my promarkers this week and colour him.
I wanted to do something different as the ladies on the team have made some amazing things already this week using the lucky cards type theme so do you all remember the punch and Judy shows that used to be all over local parks years ago? well I thought I'd draw one of those and colour all the curtains in and add our little Harley into it like he would be if he was putting on a show. haha Mad I know but there is no stopping imagination hey girls..

So without further ado Introducing you to Harley.

Isn't he cute?
Here is he a little closer, I hope you can all see the dimension in the curtains and image etc, I used entirely Promarkers and some flexmarkers on this including all the shading , the card is actually completely flat all the curves in the curtains are done with the tones and shading of each colour.

I used several of the stamps within the set to add a few elements to the curtains and backdrop.
Here is the sentiment which I stamped and cut out with the Gold spellbinder die with the debossing feature too. I rubbed over some gold gilding wax and some Ink to bring out and match the colour in the card.

A close up in Harley's face.
I punched a hole and added a little star charm to the top of the curtains swags.
And a close up on some of the colouring on the curtains.

This Is Harley jester set.

If you would like to have a look at the amazing girls on the teams work with Gorgeous little Harley Visible Image have their own blog which you will find here Helen and Mark are the brilliant team behind all the gorgeous stamps I bring to you on Sundays , Mark is the Designer and Helen is the Lovely lady who keeps Marks lovely designs on display on all the blog/social network groups etc and she is a very inspiring writer of all the sentiments that go with the sets of stamps and she truly writes some lovely words so check it all out folks if you can.
So Thanks for popping by on this day my birthday for another year so leave all your comments below as usual and don't forget to come by this week for the competition.

Lots of love and hugs

Kimmy

Visible Image Sunday.

Hi everyone

Well I have had a wonderful Visible Image weekend playing with lots of inks and stamping and even some of my drawing has crept along into today's card.

Have you been getting your craft on this weekend, what have you made?
I have a pretty big card which is almost wall art to show you today I used the fabulous new stamp set 'Once upon a time' only launched a few weeks ago from Visible Image which I simply adore, I have been waiting to have a proper play before I used it so I could really get stuck in and I think you will agree I certainly did the right thing haha.
So here it is...

Now don't be fooled this is actually 9 by 8 inches big haha , but unless I start adding to the pictures you can't tell really can you haha.
This is very technique rich with the reflection in the water and the masking used to the blending in the sun to create a face rather than draw it in. I hope you like it and of course I like to know if you do.

Here are a few more pictures.

I decided to curl the page back so I found some text paper and added a small piece under the corner and rolled the the image which I lined with some lemon paper to match the image and rolled it over the edge of the table to get a nice round edge.
Here is my sunshine face and for the most part I created the shapes simply with different yellows and shading.
You can see I used many masks here from the clouds to the hills.
Here you can see the reflections in the water quite well and the fabulous font which is simply one of my favourites,I love to have a go at most things as all of us crafty bunch do and one of those things used to be Calligraphy so I definitely do appreciate a really special font whe I see it and this is gorgeous.

Last Image.

Once upon a time...

So if you would like to have a go at this one please do but it isn't very easy to write about as I have hand drawn in the walls around the beautiful castle image so I thought this one may be better to save to do one of the first you tube videos once I get set up so I can actually show you rather than write it out but here are some simple ways to get started.
  • I took a piece of card no particular size at this point but mine was A4 in white and super smooth not too thick, this was 210 gsm.
  • I stamped my castle, the centre image in black archival. I also used London fog Momento ink (as it suggests its a grey haha) to stamp the reflection in the water or what would be water in the end. It is important at this stage to know where your sun or light source will come from so you know where your shadows and reflection in the water will sit.
  • I masked off my sun. And set to work on te clouds with several Distress Inks in the blue family.
  • I the set about drawing in the rest of the building and bridge and moat , drawbridge etc and then the next two hours I coloured in with a mix of promarkers and distress Inks in different areas to get different saturations.
  • The last thing to colour was the water which some think would be the hardest but its the quickest bit but you can't do it til the end , for several reasons , and even as simple as I was leaning there all the time to work.
  • Once everything was coloured I decided to roll back the corner so .. I added some lemon card to cover all the alcohol marker stains which always bleed through the page etc.And I wanted some old script type paper under wich I found in an old Theresa Collins pad of papers. I also stamped the lovely words in black and quickle covered in clear embossing powder and blasted to melt.
  • Then I mounted the whole thing onto some lemon and blue cards for a warm sunny happy feel picture/card.
So you see even with simple instructions it was quite long but we will revisit it once the videos get sorted out and that will be fun to show you as well as tell you I think.

Here is the set from Visible Image so you can see the actual stamps I used.

So I hope you enjoyed today guys tomorrow I will show some of the cards left from the show and I hope you all enjoy , Have a great Sunday.

Love

Kim

Visible image Sunday

Morning all.

How are you guys doing? enjoying the bank holiday weekend ? My daughter has gone off to London and is having a great time apparently . Just what is a foam party anyway and why on earth after spending an hour straightening your hair would you want someone throwing foam in it and not be cross about it..... Oh no a big fat your getting old, just slapped me in the face lol ... ah well.

It's Visible Image Sunday yay and I am blogging all the goodies I have worked on this week for the launch of their new Limited edition Lone Ranger inspired stamps which are just amazing.
I have to say I had some Visible image stamps already in my stash so I new they were deep etched and really good quality but this week having used so many I am sooo happy to say a huge WOW to Mark and Helen, they stamp perfect every time and the image is always crisp and clear, well done you guys!.

Here is Clayton from His set , which includes a fab Bullet and bullet hole ,gun also and the piece of wood which can become anything like a fence, gate, arrow etc.

 Some close ups!
Here I melted some layers of UTEE and stamped into it to give me the sheriff's badge and bullet holes . I used alot of masking techniques too to get the fence and grass, bullets and Clayton in front of the fence.
He is coloured with Promarkers.
This is all the items in the set, great hey!

Next we have Silverheels .
I made an easel card for this and stamped silver heels and masked him off with a post it. then added the fire and tomahawk, birds too.
Again coloured with Promarkers and distress inks + some treasure gold wax to the edges.

This card features Tala.  I did more masking for the background to create the moon, clouds and smoke for the fire etc.
I drew the chain for the dream catcher but the dream catcher stamp is just fab isn't it and has so many uses.
Pretty Tala.
I used a stepper card here to feature all three sets and all the goodies each one has included. The fire. dream catcher and the bow and arrow is all amazing.
I oped the card flat here to show how to arrange it . The follow your dreams was again 3 layers of UTEE melted and the stamp was pushed in which molten this gives you the technique to create the metal sign.

Here's the guys all coloured in.

So let me know what you all think, I really enjoyed colouring them all in and adding all the little touches.
If you want to see what the rest of the team created for this launch pop over to the blog or the facebook page and scroll through , the guys have done some amazing cards and if your like me and need to get things finished if you start them, you will sit up until 5.30 a.m colouring away happily not knowing that the birds are going to start singing away very soon haha.. but it was definitely worth it as it all looks stunning.

On a personal note I received a gorgeous bunch of flowers and voucher form my buddy down the coast to say thank you for staying at hers and looking after her Kitty while she was away which I was more than happy to do as I got to see my son everyday while I was there too so I would like to say a huge Thank you to her and to give Jasper some love from me. Joanne I had a great time thanks honey xxx

Tv cards for Stamp Addicts 13/09/12

Hello all!

Here are the cards I made for Stamp Addicts over this last week. They are on Create and Craft TV tomorrow at either 4 or 6, I'm not sure which, but the stamps were lovely to work with and easy to build a picture with. It was good fun, as they are a different g,enre for me.

This was Coloured with distress inks and covered in rock candy, then rubbed with black soot to give it a smoky, shadowy atmosphere, like on a stage! I found a great pack of papers that I had stashed away for the skin type background too.

The letters were Craftwork Cards mounted onto black card, some raised, and some flat. I took some little wooden stars and pressed them into Versamark, and then tipped on lots of embossing powders mixed with a little utee and glitter, melting it on and adding them to the topper I made.

Lastly, took a couple of musical peel offs and added them to some mats and layers and found a way to attach them.

Next...

This is a bat playing a guitar, so I thought I would colour him in greys. For this, I tried Promarkers this time. I managed to get a good blend and used Greys mixed between cool and ice.

This is a stepper card with the big guitar in the back cut from a rock paper pad I had, fab quality, more like card. I coloured the guitar in mixes of orange/red and dark red. Then I added glossy accents to that and his sunglasses, they dried really shiny and raised.

I used another backing paper with lots of silver guitars on the back and the bit left over. I cut a guitar out and mounted it like real guitars on walls. Made some flowers using petal pairs punches and glitter and glue in the middles. Finally added bling and done!

Next..

I love this one and when I stamped it I thought I'd make a background card using just the head, but I didn't realise I had a bit of ink on the word part and it stamped Vini on the right! So the turtle after that had a name (unless the Stamp addict ladies already gave him one). To me, he is Vini the turtle!

Again I used some fab papers that really do look and feel like reptile type skin. Two of those flowers I made a while back from paper made it onto this one.  I used also some Debbie Moore backing paper from her vintage travel pack  punching out some extra paper in strips and adding them for dimension.

I coloured old Vini with Sakura pens mostly but there is some distress inks in the mix too as I couldn't always get the right colour for him with just Sakura.

I used the technique of putting fresh water over the eyes of the stamped head background and blotting it back off so it goes back to the original white of the stamping card to stand out.

A little white pen faux stitching and bling, and a bow, and also some raffia helps to finish this one off.

I also did...

The lion.

I mostly coloured him by dobbing my inks onto my craft sheet and using a water brush to wash the colour onto the card. I built up layers of colour allowing a little drying time. I used a craft cd of Joanna Sheen's to print the grassy background. And lots of matting and layering.

Due to The wizard of Oz, when I think of lions, I always think of the cowardly lion needing his courage. So I decided this would be a good luck/courage card. I drew a paw and layered that too and again used the Craftwork Cards letters and matted them on black, added bling on some not others.

I also tried him a different way...

I used some Papermania papers on this one. An Easel card which I thought I'd have some fun with so I added a background and over stamped some branches I gave him a daisy chain necklace and drew a golf ball in. I had him standing on a stump of grass and more daisies and then used a sentiment I had saying:

"Take the time to walk barefoot in the grass making daisy chains and Believe in the beauty of your dreams." From Indigo Blu who I absolutely love.

I used it like a sign post and enamelled a piece of card that I had made look like wood.
Lastly, I made some flowers again with punches, layering them up so as to make them look like little but full blooms. Bling finished him off... not literally.

So these were the cards I sent and I'm looking forward to seeing the shows tomorrow.
I thank Sarah for choosing me to help her showcase her lovely stamps.

Hope you like them!
Happy Crafting
Kim xx
