Creative Exression Thursday

Hi all

Daisy Daisy give me your answer do..... la la la la all for the love of you..... Im singing, join in anytime you like... No ? anyone lol oh well
Gosh tht shows my age doesn't it.
So yesterdays card was pretty male and dark so I thought today I'd be opposite and go very bright and pretty girly.
So here it is.

Todays card.

I used the daisy quilt striplet stamp to create a back ground for our main focus. The stamps were part of John lockwoods collection of daisy themed stamps called Daisy chain elements.
Here is how to....

So here is the striplet stamp I used to created the image using grey ink and every other or so daisy I coloured in with yellow and mustard seed distress marker and a litte of one of the green ones too. I then  mounted it onto a mustard colour card followed by a lemon piece of card.
I also used a white pen to add fauz stitches on the mustard layer to match with the stitching on the striplet stamp too.
I then stamped out the heart in the set twice and cut them out on a small retangle piece of Milk card and also coloured these the same however I added a few backing colours like the weathered wood colour around the edge to make the daisies pop off the page.

I also started adding some green to the centre taking care to go around the petals to keep that spikey effect.

I then coloured the centre with Bundled sage distress pen also and flicked out some white gel pens on the inside barely seen with the bolder layer of  pen strokes but enough to give it light inside , I then stamped a little sentiment from the set across the centre of each heart in black.
I mounted it on the same combo of mustard and lemon card.

I created a double mat in milk for the backing piece to sit on and before I stuck it to the card I wrapped a small piece of Seam binding in Meadow green around the backing piece then stuck it down to the milk double layer.

                                                                              Et Voila....

Add your central piece on to some foam and then on the card.Add a small bow with a pearl in the bottom centre and some pearls in each corner and this piece is all done.

Here is a photo of the layers and below is the colours I used from my distress markers.

Bundled sage, Peeled paint,Mustard seed Squeezed lemonade, and weathered wood

This what the colouring today looks like.

I added the little seam blinding bag, bow and peals and it was all done.

Well I hope you enjoyed this little tutorial my daisy folks.
Take care of each other
Best wishes
Kim

Sun Kissed fleur.

Hi lovely crafters.

Well haven't we been lucky with the sunshine this week here in England, gosh you could have been fooled into thinking we do actually get a summer lol....
well spring ... well warm day or two. hmmm

Anyway did everyone had a fab bank holiday then ?

I am settling into a new job after leaving the one I was in for 12 years and I am doing fine. I certainly have a lot more crafty time and no longer working on my Saturdays which is aways going to be a good thing.
This week I shared with you my fabulous news regarding The Heartfelt Creations DT so today was the launch of their newest collection called Sun kissed Fleur and I was lucky enough to receive the entire pack last week so today I would like to link and share with you the first card I made for them.
This collection was so easy to work with and the flowers all cut out from one die , so you can make 10 flowers in one pass through the machine, plus you can stamp all 10 before you cut them out so the possibilities are endless.

Lots of distressing and just look at the papers.
Emma Lou has put some really inspiring videos on to The Heartfelt blog and
I would love to see some of your comments on it as you have up to the 14th of this month to add your comment before someone wins this entire new collection worth over $180. How generous hey...
So have a great Thursday tomorrow and it is nearly the weekend with our short week following the Bank holiday .. what do you plan on doing  with your weekend and who will be crafting?

love as always my crafty friends

Flutterby Roses.

Good Morning All!

Here is a card made with a very recent kit I got from Kanban. I was playing around and found the lacy rose effect ribbon so I decided on an Easel card. Dawn Wheeler designed the kit and it is beautiful; she did a great job, such a romantic girly feel to it this one. So I had a play and went totally OTT with it, but some how it works.

I love the backing rose card matted on to black, the photo I'm afraid isn't great as it's silly o'clock and the lighting is pretty poor.

I have embossed butterflies with pearls on their backs, rafia ribbon and spiders web material tied up into bows too.

Simple and elegent but lots of elements that took a little while to secure. Tomorrow in the day light I will re-photo and hopefully that will be better!

Crafty hugs,
Kim
