Visible Image Sunday

Good Morning All my lovelies

Well it has been raining and windy, hands up who has had this nasty wind( not personally you understand lol ) it reminds me of that storm we had in 1987 anyone remember it? Trees were blowing over and landing on cars etc, crazy time that was , I was just about to find out I was carrying my son that year. What was you all doing?

I have  a lovely  Visible Image step by step for you to have a go out , a little recap with a bit extra on  all we have been learning with the random inking since you all first met me
I used some really gorgeous and special stamps today and I hope you will agree it turned out pretty cool.
Take a look .

I have a lot of pictures with this step by step so bear with me and \i really hope you will give it a go and I really would love to see what you create guys.
Ok so here we go.

So to start I used Bundled sage and dusty concord distress inks on a piece of A5 coconut white card and blended in my usual manner, you all know it now don't you? as much ink as you can first go round but build your layers as you go round and remember it is just a piece of card and you do not need to make a fuss this is another just throw it on style card but look at the result.
Here is how mine looked after slapping the ink  on (technical term) lol
Next remember how we did the same ink in the same colour zones  just as we did on the first show, I used the gorgeous Grunge flourish , first I used the back of it around the edge of the card purple in purple and green in green.

Make sure you dry this layer properly with a heat gun and use an anti static pad to as it will stop the embossing powders from clinging to the other inks .I now switch to an archival ink so it gives me a nice crisp images and I am now using the simply divine Music background.
Once I stamped the music background twice in opposite corners I took the large butterfly and again kept the tones in the same colour zones so I didn't muddy the colours and stamped a few on the page
Here you can see the layers starting to build up and its already starting to look pretty don't you think?
On the last show I showed you how to colour your butterflies really quickly and no fussing, the simple way is to stamp them all how you want them and then while they are still on the paper just rub some colour into them how you want it, Once I did this I added some white dots and coloured in white some pieces to give  a little more depth to them, \if you are wondering about the last butterfly in this picture,I took the butterfly stamp and inked it well with the Versafine , I  then pressed the music background onto the inked butterfly which of course removed some ink and I stamped that image which is top right and then I took  the music background and stamped out the image left there too which is the bottom right image. This is called Kiss stamping and usually used on more solid stamps like silhouettes but why not try it on any and see how it goes.
At this stage cut all your butterflies out, you can see the difference the white pen makes to the butterflies already. Once cut out take a sheet of double sided adhesive and then dip each one in whatever medium you prefer, glitter, mica flakes, Micro beads etc and set aside for a minute to dry etc.
Go back to the original piece and take your glue pen and dot it wherever you feel you want the glitter etc.
I used some Frantage aged white powder on top of 2 of the corners where  I used the music background too.
Next i stamped out on coconut white card the live your dreams stamp, you can just see it on the left if you look carefully, I heat embossed it with clear detail powder and versamark ink.
Then blended the same colours to create my focal piece for the card. I also stamped randomly the music
I matted and layered a couple of times and added my butterflies , which are super sparkly but the cameras just can 't pick it up well at all.

I decided to use microbeads on my butterflies i just love how they look. The butterfly on the bottom left has glitter on it.and is the one I explained regarding Kiss stamping.
It definitely was a long project but very worth it I hope you will agree.

The gorgeous stamps used in this project are.

                                 live your dreams                                 Grunge flourish

                                   Large butterfly                                  Music background

Now the lady that won all the goodies on here just over a week ago never came forward so I still have that bundle of goodies to give away. There fore anyone who leaves a comment today will go into a 2nd drawing and that prize will then be sent out to them.
Here's that prize again as a recap.
Good luck every one.

Visible Image Sunday.

Hi all my Lovelies.
A very good morning to you all and I hope you have been having a very good weekend. Did you all get lots of crafting done? what project are you working on right now? Does anyone need any help with anything today. ? Any crafty questions?.

I have of course been using my gorgeous and amazing Visible Image stamps today and I thought I'd do a masculine card today as we mustn't leave the fellas out hey girls, well not all the time anyway hehe.

I am loving the corrugated card look lately and managed to snaggle ( is that a word? I like it , it is now in my vocab guys) so I managed to snaggle a left over from the last card on the blog, just a tiny piece and used it in place of a girly ribbon for this more manly of cards.

Another angle so you can see the glaze on the main image and some of the embellishments.

  • I took a piece of black card and mounted it onto white.I the took a piece of grey and drew faux stitching in a runner style stitch around it.I added this to the card too.
  • I took my small strip of corrugated card and added it over the left edge of the grey card down the length of the card.
  • I used some brown archival in and stamped the sentiment onto some white card and cut into a v one end and a tag shape the other, which was mounted onto black, I cut out this by hand leaving just a very thin matt showing, I used a little vintage photo distress to edge the white card too.
  • I stamped out my Men's  collage in the same  Sepia brown and fussy cut by hand the image I used vintage photo and faded jeans distress Inks on this piece. Once it was dry I apply a versamark pen to the pocket watch and parts of the car and embossed with clear powder, I did a couple of layers for a nice shiny smooth finish.I matted this piece onto black and again fussy cut by hand. I added foam to the back and set aside.
  • The next piece was on white card ad I took The Bronte script stamp and used versamark ink and clear embossing powder to create some script randomly on the page just in a few areas.
  • Then I used first faded jeans Distress and the grunge dots background stamp to add some pattern onto the card along the bottom. I wiped the stamp and switched to dried Marigold and a little rusty hinge on the edges and used the dots at the top of the card.
  • I took a pair of scissors and distressed all the edges of the card and then started to ink the card ad over the embossing and pattern.
  • You all now know my method to inking, side side middle one  colour and side side middle the other colour. this time I used dried marigold and faded jeans with a little rusty hinge and chipped sapphire on the edge and lastly for inks I used some walnut stain on the very edges and rubbed into the torn edge. I knew I wanted to curl one corner so  rubbed some chipped sapphire under one edge and rolled it up whist damp with the ink and it dries stiffly then.
  • I added foam under this piece and added it on a jaunty angle to the card base made earlier.
  • I added the car collage on top of this.Tucking the sentiment under it as I adhered it.
  • lastly just to dress the card with a few embellishments and I chose very masculine metal pieces for this one.
Here are some close up pictures.

Here you can see the stitching and the popper in metal added to the corner.
 Another view.
This one shows the shine on the Embossing really well.
 The colours show here.
I hope you liked this male card today, I definitely think it is one of those that people shy away from as they aren't so easy to do, as we think we can't add flowers and ribbons etc but most guys like some sort of flower or garden I think , what do you think ladies?

Here are the brilliant and very deep etched stamps I used today.

                              Bronte Script.                                       Grunge Polka dots

Men's Collage                                             No matter your age.

I wanted to mention that we have a challenge every month at Visible Image and all you have to do is use at least one Visible Image stamp on your project take a piccy and post it on the Visible Image blog here. You will then have to wait til the end of that month and someone will win a £20 voucher to spend on Visible Image stamps which are extremely affordable and very good quality. Well worth a little bit of fun and stamping I think, Only rules are no digi's and at least one Visible Image stamp. excellent hey.

daily inspiration from the design team plus we go on most days to chat to you all. You can also post your cards you made using Visible Image stamps too. So I have also left a link here if you fancy coming and joining just for a chat. If you do come and join here.
