Creative Expressions Thursday

Hi Folks

I hope you are having a good week and having lovely sunshine again like I am. I was lucky enough on the team to receive some gorgeous dies and stamps from our lovely Sue Wilson's collection's so this month is dedicated on the team,to the Christmasy theme. Ooo that rhymes... come on brain now engage haha

It is so fabulous to be  back with you and covered in glitter haha I really have missed chatting to you all and I hope to catch up with everyone over the coming weeks slowly. I am still going through lots of emails etc.

So here goes. This is the die and stamp combination I have used this time.

The classic Poinsettia from the festive collection Sue Wilson Dies and The stamps to die for collection stamp called Snowflake bauble.
I have started simply with this one so the ladies among you that are not so confident can really get to grips with the easier style today but still keep it clean and elegant.

So here we are in my favourite colour combination of Coconut white and plum foundation card stock
I started with a piece of white around 5x6 inches and I cut my three classic poinsettia's out of the centre and set the flowers aside , I also cut a few more out of some scrap coconut white left from my recent show to use up.I took another piece of white just half an inch bigger than the first and laid a small amount of double sided adhesive sheet down just in the centre, well away from the edges that would show.
I rubbed in some of the large chunky glitter , snowflake sparkles or something like that haha, after burnishing it into the sheet I set it aside for a moment so I could stamp my Bauble and sentiment.
I stamped this in Perfect medium and gold embossing powder I also used a fine glitter in the background of the bauble and some pearls to decorate it.
Here is another full view slightly at an angle to see how dimensional the Poinsettias really are and hopefully pick up a little of the shine etc.

You can see the glitter under the flower apertures quite freely here.
Of course here is the greeting, simply "Season's Greetings".
I love this ribbon and how it stays pretty in it's bow and the white almost snowflake looking embellishment.
Another angle to show under the flowers.

From here I did some mat and layering some on foam and some on cosmic shimmer glue. I added some pearls in the corners and as embellishments on the bauble etc I think you will agree once the layering is complete it becomes a very elegant card which could be given generically due to the non sexist connotations on the card.I also used some glitter on the points of the poinsettia and Barnet items so enjoy having a look round.  Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to send me a comment or question and I will answer you later.

Hugs to all now.
Kim

It also means a new challenge has started but not only that with it being December the prize has gone up to £30 worth of stamps of your choice for the winner. How cool is that, you can get tons of gorgeousness with that! You must of course use at least one Visible Image stamp for the challenge but all you lovelies that got loads in the Black Friday sales come on and get entering to win more!!! you know you want to.
We have a Christmas theme for this December Challenge,  here is my Inspiration for it.

I really enjoyed using these stamps and making the trees come to life.
  •  I started with white card and cut my moon mask and  used low tack adhesive to add to the white card.
  • I used Distress inks in blue and purple hues from Tumbled glass to Chipped Sapphire and a little black soot to achieve the graduate sky. I had some cloud masks and added some faintly in the sky each side of the moon.
  • I stamped the trees in Black archival and also some purple Adirondack ins and used second generation stamping for the trees in shadow too.
  • I took away some ink from the cloudy areas and under the moon using a water brush and Kitchen paper to bleach it out.
  • I removed the moon mask and added some distressing to the paper to make craters in the moon and a little misting. I then dried it all and stamped the sleigh in black archival over the moon and sky. Dried again with a heat gun.
  • I stamped and embossed in silver the seasons greetings along the top.
  • Then used a quicky glue pen and various coloured glitters on the trees and the sleigh, Rudolf needed a red nose and the tress all needed shadow and highlights with black and white pens to make them 3D.
  • Once finished I matt and layered the image a few times with colours to compliment and some Nail head metal flat back gems to the corners. Voila all done.
The stamps I used were.

As it is Sunday you get a twofer as It is my normal day to blog for Visible image therefore I have a card I created to show you for today.

This one uses the Hearts entwined verse. love immortal set and Bronte border stamps for the background.
A close up of the verse in the gorgeous font.
And here you can see the rose buds and part of the spun sugar background and the matts, including the pierced layer giving it a professional finish.

  • So I started with a 5and half inch square piece of white card and I used Versamark ink to stamp the damask stamp from the Immortal love stamp set which I embossed with white powder.
  • I then took the Bronte border and did not put it on to a block I merely held it in my hand and pressed it in the gaps between the damask shape. I also embossed this in white and it gave an interesting finish.
  • I took spun sugar distress ink and inked the whole page then reworking the edges and corners to tone it darker and focus the eye inward.
  • I dried it thoroughly and matted onto Soft gold card. I wrapped some white crochet ribbon round the bottom of the card and then some thing pink ribbon over the crochet piece. and set aside.
  • I measured a piece of white card slightly larger than the piece set aside and pierced the edge using the creative expressions piercing ruler and a pokey tool. I added foam to the back and raised it onto another white matt. Then added the other piece onto foam and added them together.
  • I stamped my sentiment and embossed in gold detail powder and cut out using a spellbinder label and I also cut a frame using the same shape and the size smaller, all pieces I gently inked with Spun sugar to tie all together. I then added my sentiment to the card and added the frame raised onto foam too.
  • I used a want to scrap pearl element onto the frame and took three paper Rose buds and twisted them together using florist tape, I added a little gold trim and some leaves and added it to the card.
  • Lastly some heart shaped Pearls to the corners and to the decoration. A tiny bow in the same thin pink ribbon with a matching pearl centre was the last touch.
The stamps I used were.
