Thanks for the Crazies

Hello, welcome to a brand new Crazy for Challenges!!  Barbara is back as hostess for the last challenge of May ......  AND.......here is her challenge for us.

The end of May signals the end of the school year in the US. Let's make a teacher thank you card this week. If you don't have a use for a teacher thank you card feel free to make a generic thank you card instead.

We want to thank our awesome guest, Wanda Cullen of Cullen-ary Creations for joining us this month--we've enjoyed having you play with us.

I made a generic thank you card as I had no need of a teacher card.  I used a background stamp from Impression Obsession to make my main panel.  I then added a die cut sentiment (which I think is by Taylored Expressions) along with some outer paper piercing.

Be sure to visit the  Crazies Blog to see the fabulous thank you cards they have created.

Crazy for Sketches

This week is the third Crazy4Challenges for this month so it is a sketch.  I just love the sketch but must admit that I forgot the element on the left side of the main image.

I used a dainty oval die from MFT along with a beautifully intricate lace border die from Joanna Sheen's Signature Dies.  What a wonderful die....intricate and yet cut beautifully with just one pass through my Cuttlebug.  What appears to be black pearls on my card are actually different sized SILVER embellishments.

The CCEEers Play with Opposites

t

Frances continues as our January hostess with the moistest.  This is the challenge she gave the CCEE Stampers this week......

Did you know that the 25th January is National Opposite Day?  For our challenge this week make a card/project that has opposites on it. Think opposite colors on the color wheel, stripes and polka dots, black and white, mirror image, etc.

Of course, I had to go with black and white (with a tiny touch of RED).  The stamped image is from Penny Black, while the sentiment is from MFT.  I used heat embossing with white embossing powder for the image and the sentiment.  The sentiment panel was die cut with an MFT die.

Crazy4Challenges in the New Year

Happy New Year Crazy Fans!

Welcome back to another fun-filled Crazy 4 Challenges with the "Crazies"

Before we get onto our first challenge for the year, we need to let you know about a few changes. First up we sadly say goodbye to both Danielle Lounds and Kellie Hull.

Joining us this year, we have Maryann Einam, Rebecca Ednie and Jen Benner  . We look forward to having them all play along with us each week.

Our Guest Designer for January is Caz Counsell, I am sure you will enjoy seeing her creations this month.

For our January challenges, we have Frances Byrne hosting.

Apparently yesterday was Z Day. Let's celebrate by including something starting with the letter Z on our cards.  You could make a Z Fold Card, use a zip or zip image, zinnia, zebra, zoo etc. Let's show the letter Z how much we love it!

My zebra image is from a very old, retired SU set.  The sentiment is from MFT.  I heat embossed the images and added some piercing aroung the base edges.  An easie-peasie CAS card.

Be sure to visit the Crazies Blog to see the Z creations by the rest of this talented team.

CCEE Stampers Appreciate Safe Homes

Hello All!!!

Joanne/jojot here with the next-to-last CCEE Stampers Challenge of 2015.  Due to the craziness of the season, we will only be doing challenges this week and next, giving a bit of time off to enjoy the holidays with a little less pressure.  So.....here is my challenge for this week....

Today is National Roof Over Your Head Day.   It is a day to be thankful for those of us who are fortunate enough to have a safe home to live in AND to think about those around the world who do not.  To mark this day, our challenge today is to make a card with a house/building of some sort on it.

For my card today I kept it really simple.  Due to my health issues for the past 11 monrhs I have not been stamping much.  So.....my holiday card stash is nearly empty.  I am going to try to make very simple cards this year and I think this will be one I will duplicae in maybe a groups of 20 or so.

In the picture you can't see it very well, but I did dry emboss the background with a snowflake folder to give the card some depth.  I added piercing around the original stamped image.

We'd love to have you play along. All you have to do is create something using the above challenge, and upload it to your blog and/or to your SCS Gallery using the keyword CCEE1549. Don't forget to then go to the CCEE Stampers Blog and link it on Mr Linky so that everyone else can see your card too.  While there, certainly take the time to view the fabulous creations by this wonderfully fabulous team of friends.

Crazies Are Square

Hi....this is my last week as the November hostess for the Crazy4Challenges.  The following is my challenge for the team (and YOU if you would like to play along.  If so, visit the Crazies Blog to get the details.

Tomorrow, November 29, is National Square Dancing Day.  To help celebrate this day, think ‘square’.  Make a square card (sorry, Barb) OR use square elements on your non-square card.

As this is the last challenge of November, we would like to thank our guest designer, Karen Dunbrook, for sharing her fabulous talents with us this month.

I used the same stamp set from JustRite Designs that I used a couple of weeks ago, but this time I used it as a black line drawing instead of coloring it.  I also used a square fancy frame die to bring the focus to it.  I also added a scored border to the bast card, but that doesn't show very well in the picture.

Be sure to visit the Crazies Blog to see just how 'square' this DT can get....

Crazies Sketch Week

Frances is our Crazy4Challenges hostess for the month of August.  Since this is the third challenge of the month, she has given us a fabulous sketch to play with this week.

I used two different dps for my layers, an MFT oval lace die along with a Spellbinders oval die for the main image, an MFT banner die for the sentiment, and some small brads.  I heat embossed the image from Flourishes and the sentiment on black.

Be sure to visit the Crazies Blog to see the varied and creative ways the DT used this sketch.

CCEE Creates Screen Dividers

Frances, our CCEE Stampers Challenge hostess for August, gave us a fancy fold card challenge this week.  Here it is.....

This week we are creating Screen Divider Card - I have been meaning to make one of these style cards for some time now … so let us create one for today's challenge. Here is the link to the tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers.

I have to admit that I kind of dreaded this challenge, but was happy to see just how easy it was to make.  Thanks, Frances, for making me work out of my comfort zone (this time...lol).

I used a wide variety of stamps.  I did not write down all the companies (sorry), but the large ferns are from one of my absolute favorite retired SU sets ever.

Be sure to take the time to visit the CCEE Blog.  You will be dazzled by the variety of screen divider cards.

CCEE Celebrate June....The Traditional Month of Weddings

Today is Liz's last week as hostess for June.  The following is her challenge for this week's CCEE Stampers Challenge.

As a child, I remember the local newspaper selected a June bride to feature in a specially published section of the paper in the month of June. Only one was selected, so I am sure it was a great honor. For our final challenge of the month, make a card featuring a bridal couple or a wedding cake.  For fun check out this link showing wedding cakes on Pinterest.  It is a great source of inspiration.

I went with the bridal couple as my inspiration. I am sorry that I did not note the company for the stamps.  If you would like to know just ask in a comment and I'll get back to you.

Be sure to check out the bridal iinspired cards at the CCEE Stampers Blog.

Crazies Are Exploring Their Masculine Sides

In real life, the apparent gray in this picture is actually white.....sorry about the muddy picture.

Danielle is our hostess for the Crazy4Challenges DT in June.  This is her challege for this week.

With Father's Day just around the corner, let's make a masculine card.  Whether it is colors, textures, or stamps, please try to add a little masculine touch.

I used a large sentiment from My Favorite Things.  The rest is made with black c/s and designer papers.  I did use a Spellbinder die for the sentiment.  I finished it off with three large brads.

The CCEE Stampers Follow a Recipe

Welcome to the CCEE Stampers Challenge.  For the month of May, I (Joanne/jojot) am the hostess.  For the challenges this month, we are going to concentrate on tools and embellishments rather than themes.  Please feel free to do a faux version if you do not have the tool or embellishment.

The challenge for today is to use at least one embossing folder, brad, and a self-made flower on your card/project.  You can certainly use dies to create your flower(s) if you want.

For my card I used a die from Memory Box, a sentiment from Hero Arts, an embossing dot folder, three brads, and some rhinestones on the flower centers.

I kept it simple as even though I got an injection in my back yesterday (well, actually two shots but I'm not going to tell you the whole miserable story),  I am still hobbling around.  The shots were nothing, but the aftermath was ugly.  It was after 7 tonight when I finally made it down to the stamp cave.  So apologies for the simple flower.  I had actually hoped to play with some new flower dies I got, but had not time for the learning curve tonight.

Please join us AND visit the CCEE Blog to see the fab creations by this fantastic and talented team.   If you upload to another site such as Splitcoaststampers, please add CCEE1519 to your keywords.

The 'EYES' Go Crazy......

Hi Crazy Fans!

It's a brand new month which means it is time to introduce our new Crazy4Challenges  hostess for the month, which this time around is Barb Anders.

Before we get onto this week's challenge, we have some updates for you.  First up, Lynn Putt, sadly, has left us as she is very busy and doesn't have the time to play along with us right now.

Vicki Burdick, who was our Guest Designer in April, has now joined us on the Design Team. We are excited to welcome her to the team.

Finally we need to introduce this month's Guest Designer .... Broni Holcomb from Splash of Watercolor blog. We look forward to having Broni play along with us each week.

OK,  now onto this week's challenge!

There are ALL kinds of "holidays" these days.  Have you noticed that? One of the "monthly" observances for May (in the US, at least) is Healthy Vision Month. I know we're all aware of how precious vision is.   So let's celebrate it this week. Your project should have something related to vision or eyes on it. Use your imagination--the "eyes" have it this week!

On this card I used die cuts from two small die sets by Impression Obsession.  The sentiment comes from a Pure Innocence set by My Favorite Things.

Be sure to stop by the Crazies Blog to see the fab creations by the DT.

CCEE Stampers -- Influenced by Books

Frances is our April hostess for the CCEE Stampers challengeThis is her challenge.....

Today is National Librarian Day, so for our challenge this week use a book as your inspiration …. Children's or Adults.

I have been a voracious reader since childhood.  I have read many genres of books.  Currently I am enjoying mystery/thriller/detective type of books.  One I read a bit ago was Storm Front by John Sanford.  I used that as the inspiration for this sympathy card.

I used an Impression Obsession 6x6 block stamp for the clouds, a Hero Arts sentiment stamp, and a tree die.

Be sure to stop at the CCEE Blog to check out the reading habits AND talents of the rest of this fabulous team.

Moonstruck with the CCEE Stampers

Sabrina is our hostess for February for the CCEE Stampers Challenge.  Here is her challenge....

Interestingly, because February is a short month, there can actually be years in which there is no full moon at all. The last time this happened was 1999, the next time will be 2018. So while this isn’t one of those years - feature the moon on your cards.

I have, unfortunately, needed a lot of sympathy cards recently, so I headed in that direction.

Be sure to visit the CCEE Stampers Blog to see the moonstruck creations of the rest of the team.

Crazies Go Masculine

\This is Peggy's last week as our January hostess.  This week she asked the Crazy4Challenges DT to make a masculine birthday card for our stash.  I am always in need of masculine cards, so I gladly accepted the challenge.

We have been inundated with snow this week, so I decided to think tropical with this image stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms.  The sentiment stamp is from My Favorite Things.  I used an Impression Obsession die to creat the white frame and a SU punch for the sentiment circle and the circles behind the brads.

Be sure to go to the Crazies Blog to be inspired by the masculine creations by this talented team.

The Opposing Crazies

The Crazy4Challenges DT hostess this month is Peggy.  She asked us to use opposites this week.  Could be any kind of opposites, based on color, shape, etc.

I went with my fav opposites of BLACK and WHITE.  Gotta love that combo, eh????

I used an old SU set for the bloom and a MFT sentiments set for the sentiment.

Be sure to check out how the rest of the Crazies found their 'opposites' at the Crazies Blog.

Happy New Year to All!!!

Welcome to the first CCEE Stampers Challenge foro 2015!!!  Vicky, our hostess for January, asked us to make cards using birds......a fav of hers.

I wanted to use a new 'toy', so I went with this silhouetted die cut from Spellbinders with two birds on wires.  The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday.  I added a panel of designer paper and some paper piercing.  Simple, yes, but in one of my fav color combos.

Be sure to visit the CCEE Blog to see the fabulous ways in which the Design Team went 'to the birds'.

Number Crazy with the Crazies

Frances continues as hostess for the Crazy4Challenges DT this week.  She gave us this 'number challenge'.

Number It .... Include a number or numbers on your creations this week. You can make an aged birthday card; number themed designer paper, number themed embossing folders or dies. Anything goes as long as there is a number somewhere!

I usedd this numbered sentiment stamp from MFT.  Now I have another card for my masculine b'day stash.

Be sure to stop at the Crazies Blog to see the numbered creations by the rest of the team.

'Mustache' You to Play with the CCEE Stampers

Maryann is our CCEE Stampers Challenge hostess for November.  She has given us the following challenge.

Movember - A Global Movement raising funds for Male issues. http://au.movember.com
and ask that you create a card that features a mustache.

I used a set from The Craft's Meow which was a virgin set until this past weekend when I did another mustache challenge.  I just happened to have that wonderful designer paper that finished the theme off beautifully.  The rest of this was pretty simple.

Now be sure to visit the CCEE Blog to see the fab mustache creations by the rest of this fabulous team.

Crazies Play Bingo

Barbara is our Crazy4Challenges hostess for May.  This week she gave us a Bingo card to work with.  She asked us to make our cards using a 'bingo' line......across, up and down, or diagonally.

With my card, I actually ended up using TWO 'bingo' winning lines.  I have BINGO on the top and bottom 'across' lines.  I have embossing, text, and stripes as well as flowers, sentiment and bling.

My flower and background text are from SU images, while the sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

Can't wait to see what the rest of the Crazies did with this fun Bingo Challenge!!!  Let's all go to the Crazies Blog to check them out.
