CCEE Stampers Mix It Up

This is Vicky's last challenge as our hostess for the CCEE Stampers Challenge for June! Here is her challenge........

I need to practice mixed media so I can join in more challenges.   I   often back off as I think I’m not able to make a good finished product.   Let’s make a mixed  media card.

Quoting Splitcoaststamers: A "medium" can be any of the following:

Pencils - wax, oil, watercolour, graphite/charcoal. chalk/pastel
Pastels - Chalk, oil
Markers - watercolor, pigment, water-based acrylic
Pens - ink, glitter
Pigments - Gelatos, watercolor crayons, metallic rubons
Paints - watercolor, acrylic, oil, poster, tempera
Inks - dye, chalk, distress, reinkers, pigment, hybrid
Powders - mica, pigment, chalk
Sprays & airbrushing
Dimensionals - embossing paste, gesso, fabric, found items, papers (collage, piecing) & ephemera, foils
Heated elements - encaustic wax, embossing

Here is my CAS mixed media card......

I used a stencil with two different colors of distress ink which I sponged on.  I used heat embossing for my MFT sentiment.  I then used a Joanna Sheen butterfly die to create my butterfly which, in real life, is dimensional.  I kept it simple as this will go into my holiday stash of gift cards for the upcoming holiday season.

The CCEE Stampers Go to the Birds

Vicky continues as the June hostess for the CCEE Stampers Challenge.  Here is her challenge for this week.

Most of you know I love birds.....birds of any kind!  Let's use birds on our cards this week.....Crazy Birds, real birds, cartoon birds...whatever trips your trigger!  One, two, a flock....it's your choice.  Just show me those birds!

I have a trio of funky owls for you today.  I kept the card CAS as these hooters deserve all the focus.  I did add some scoring around the edges in place of my usual piercing.

Be sure to stop in to the CCEE Blog to see the 'birds' taking over our gallery today.

CCEEers Go a Little 'Ducky'

Vicky, as our June CCEE Stamper Challenge hostess, is back with another challenge.  Here it is......

Morning ya'll.  Vicky here to challenge you!!!

Today is Donald Duck Day!!!  Donald has been around since 1934.

Let's celebrate Donald by using a duck..real or imaginary.  Extra points if you use Donald or any other fictional duck on your card.  Let's see what you come up with.

The duck stamp that came to mind when I saw this challenge are from Verve.  I have had the set for ages but have only used it once.  I like the idea that I have lots of ducks represented AND that it is a 'ducky' sentiment.  I used Spellbinder dies, Copics, and piercing tools.

Now be sure to check out the CCEE Stampers Blog to see the other 'ducky' creations.

Spring Captures the CCEEers Attention

Anne continues as the April hostess for the CCEE Stampers Challenge.  Here is her challenge for the week.

Spring brings lots of changes to our landscapes.  Your challenge this week is to make a scenic card...and because I am the hostess, be sure to add some RED!

I usually cut out and create a dimensional scene, but today I went in a different direction.  Once again I forgot to write down the names of the stamp companies, but I can check them out iif you want to know.  Just leave a comment and I'll get back to you.  I colored with Copics and used a cloud template for my clouds.

Thanks for stopping in......be sure to take a trip to the CCEE Blog to see the spring scenes created by this talented group of friends.

Crazy for Petite Critters

Hello and welcome to the first week of April with Crazy 4 Challenges! Rebecca Ednie will be our hostess for this month. We'd like to thank everyone who played with us last week. Without you all, this challenge wouldn't exist!

We have the lovely, sweet and talented Teresa Kline from Paperie Blooms joining us and she will be our Guest for the whole Month. Please welcome her by leaving a comment at the Crazies Blog or at her blog.

Here is Rebecca's challenge for us this week......

This week I've designed a challenge with Spring in mind. I hate winter and am so happy spring is finally here. Spring brings Baby Animals so use some little critters on your card or project. They can be baby animals or just small images.

When I think of small critters, I often think of this SU retired set that I used this week.  I have to be honest and say that I originally wanted a different sentiment.....something including 'one of a kind', but I was unable to find the stamp I normally used.....so......I used the one that comes with this stamp set from SU>

I added some embossing to 'fill in' some white space.  Scoring was also done, but it really doesn't show much in this muddy picture.  Piercing was also an added detail as well as some MS border punching.

Be sure to visit the Crazies Blog to see the critters represented on the DT cards.

CCEE Chicks Get Creative

Frances continues as the CCEE Stampers Challenge hostess for March.  Here is her challenge for us this week.

Saturday is Poultry Day. So let's be inspired by Poultry when creating our cards this week… Chickens; Ducks; Turkeys; Geese; Emus; Ostriches etc or Eggs. As Easter is just over a week away, you could create an Easter card but this is optional. Bonus points if you  include Green on your card to celebrate St Patricks Day which is today.

I used a stamp and die set from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps for my image.  The frame was made with a die from MFT.  The sentiment is also from an MFT set.  I added a touch of designer paper and some brads.  Piercing finished the card off.

Be sure to visit the CCEE Blog to see the other poultry themed cards by this wonderful DT.

Crazy4Challenges Sketch Week

Frances, our January hostess for the Crazy4Challenges, has given us a great sketch to play with this week.

I used Tim Holtz's Crazy Birds set for this one.  I honestly can't remember the company for the sentiment, but I 'think' it is Sweet 'n Sassy stamps.  I added lots of piercing around the base and the main image.  I used an old SU punch for my sentiment panels on which the sentiment was heat embossed.

Be sure to stop in at the Crazies Blog to see the many fabulous ways this sketch has been used.

CCEEers Put on Their Hats

Since I am half a day late, I will keep this short and sweet.  This winter hooter image is from Art Impressions.  The sentiment is from Penny Black (I think).  Colored with Copics, pierced the edges, made SU punched snowflake, and a panel of dp.

Be sure to visit the CCEE Blog to see images with all sorts of hats.

Crazy Late, But I'm Back......

After a long absence due to pain and then surgery, I am back to share a Hallowen card with you.  This was made for the Crazy4Challenges DT.  Here is the challenge for this week........

Hey Crazy 4 Challenge Fans, it's Jessie back with this week's challenge!!
We still have a few more week's until Halloween, so get out your costumed characters, and use them to make whatever project your heart desires...just make sure your main image is all dressed up!! In fact, as some of my fellow crazies have done, you don't even have to go with a Halloween theme, just make sure your main image is dressed in some sort of costume and you are welcome to join our challenge!

I use qn image from Inkadinkado.  The sentiment is part of a $1.00 stamp from Michael's.  I added designer paper, texture, piercing, and used a punch in the creation of this card.

Be sure too visit the Crazies Blog to see the creations of the rest of the team and our guest designer.

CCEE Stampers Play with Words

Lois continues as the CCEE Stampers Challenge hostess for September.  She has a fun challenge for us his week that has a lot of flexibility to it.  The gallery should be full of all kinds of creations this week.  Here is her challenge....

Lois here.  I'm the hostess for this month's CCEE challenges.  In addition to being my birthday today, it is also the birthday of Louis H. Sullivan (born Sept. 3, 1856), an architect credited with designing the first skyscraper.  Today's challenge is a Word Play challenge.  Include on your card something that starts with each of the letters in CITY.

Here are my CITY elements.....

C is for the Crazy Bird image I used.
I is for the "I' sentiment.
T is for the turquoise color of my cardstock and Copic markers.
Y is for the abundance of yellow on the card.

Stamps used are from Tim Holtz (Crazy Bird) , SU (bkgd. stamp used on horizontal panel), and Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps (sentiment).

Be sure to visit the CCEE Stampers Blog to see creativity on overload.

Crazies 4 Critters

I am very happy to be back with a card for ths week's Crazy4Challenges DT.  I was absent one week as I was away in Maine, and then, when I came home, I brought a terrible cough and ailment home with me so I missed the next week.  I am happy to say that most of the coughing is done and that ailment is just a lingering memory.  However, I also visited a surgeon this week for my sciatica/cyst problems and unfortunately surgery is in my future.  Have to admit to a bit of trepidation about that......oh well....life goes on.

ANYHOOOOOO.......Our challenge this week was to include one or more 'critter' on our cards/projects.  I used an old Penny Black stamp for my critters.  The sentiment is from a SU set.  I added some designer paper panels and some piercing and that's about it.

Be sure to visit the Crazies Blog to see all the 'critters' used by this talented team.

This CRAZY is Back to Play

I am happy to say that I have a card to share for this week's Crazy4Challenges post.  I have been MIA for a few weeks due to sciatica.  It has been a painful journey, but it will hopefully come to an end in two weeks when I have an injection in my back.  However,  I have been trying to hobble down to the stamp cave so I can 'play' and rejoin my challenge teams.  Thanks for your patience.

This week, our hostess is Lynn....and here is her challenge......

Since today is World Penguin Day and tomorrow is National Go Birding Day, let's create a card or project using some type of bird.

If you would like to play along with us this week, upload your card/project to your blog or online gallery using the keyword C4C283.  Then pop over to the Crazies Blog and link it on Inlinkz so we can see it too! :)

On my card I used no stamps.  I used die cuts from Memory Box, Spellbinders, and MFT.  In the background of the circle panel I also used a cloud embossing folder, but can't remember from which company.

Thanks for looking.

Silhouettes on the Shade

Vicky is the hostess for the CCEE Stampers in January.  This week she asked us to create cards using silhouette stamps AND to be sure to use a sentiment on the front.

Well.....I LOVE silhouettes, so the hardest thing was to decide which one I would use this week.  I went with this 'wild' one from (I think) I Brake for Stamps.  This should have been an easy card, but my embossing powder gave me a hard time.  What you can't see here is that the background on the image is sponged.  Well, I sponged with distress inks and apparently they 'attract' embossing powder.  I did this image three times....the first time the entire image was covered in embossing powder.......the second, I heated the sponged background before doing the embossing.......still stuck to the whole area........and the third time I 'dried' it with the heat gun twice, let it rest, and then embossed my image.  I ended up having to take a paint brush and get rid of most of the powder from the wrong places HOWEVER, as you can see, it is still a bit messy.......am going to have to figure this problem out......Have never had this problem before, but I may never have used the distress inks for sponging before.  Anyhooooooo....this was the best I could do.

Happy New Year to All!!!

Welcome to the first CCEE Stampers Challenge foro 2015!!!  Vicky, our hostess for January, asked us to make cards using birds......a fav of hers.

I wanted to use a new 'toy', so I went with this silhouetted die cut from Spellbinders with two birds on wires.  The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday.  I added a panel of designer paper and some paper piercing.  Simple, yes, but in one of my fav color combos.

Be sure to visit the CCEE Blog to see the fabulous ways in which the Design Team went 'to the birds'.

The Crazies Say Hello

Frances continues as our November hostess for the Crazy4Challenges DT.  This is her challenge for this week.

Yesterday was World Hello Day … So for our challenge this week let’s create a card that says “Hello”. Bonus points if your card shows some way that we can say Hello … eg by using speech bubbles on your card, using a phone stamp/die; using letters/envelopes on your card; Image of someone sending or delivering mail; saying Hello is different languages etc.

I did not go for the extra points this week.  I kept it pretty simple and to the point.  I wanted to add it to a holiday stash of all occasion cards I am giving a friend.

Be sure to go to the Crazies Blog to see the HELLO creations by the rest of the team.

Sketching It Up with the Crazies

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRcjLR_mBt3ese12tSIqiS-bnB68TtpRPErGjrozSOSqwO9lzNUcNL6IsyzVrk0_b9fne_DPk_rp9L_skoO4jd5x5gig0LwVRfiDawKP6vSDOI6SSi2yLljlgohlPUXjXVvhJ7YT4m7vZW/s1600/C4C262.jpg

It is the third challenge of the month for the Crazy4Challenges DT.  Frances, our hostess, gave us a fabulous sketch to work with this week.

I stayed very true to the sketch.  I used an image by Impression Obsession.  Only a tad bit of coloring was needed.  I used designer paper for my horizontal panels and textured the red circular panel.  I added a touch of piercing in the upper left hand corner to 'balance' the brads.

Be sure to check out how the rest of the Crazies used this fab sketch at the Crazies Blog.

and......

I want to wish my sweet little girl, Angel, a very happy 4th birthday.  My birthday is tomorrow, so we will celebrate together.  (Unfortunately, mine is not my 4th........I hit the big 65 this year!!!))

The Crazies Are Inspired

I was unable to grab the photo Jess gave the Crazy4Challenge DT for inspiration this week.  You will have to travel to the Crazies Blog to see it.  While there you should check out the fabulous creations by the rest of the tesm.

I kept mine simple, using a Penny Black pooch stamp, and adding a bi of texture to the mid panel.  I also added a touch of piercing and some brads.

Thanks for stopping in.

The CCEE Celebrates National Dog Week

September 21 - September 27 is National Dog Week this year.  Lois has asked the CCEE Stampers to use a dog on our cards.

I believe my dog image is from Penny Black.  The sentiment is an unmounted stamp I bought at a stamp show, so I have no company to give you.  I used a Spellbinder die for the main panel and an MFT banner die for the sentiment.  I added some paper piercing and that's about it

Check out our fabulous canine postings at the CCEE Stampers Blog.

Belated B'days with the Crazies

Our Crazy4Challenges goal this week was to add a belated b'day card to our card stash.  Even though most of us have lots and lots and lots of cards, we still somehow forget to mail them on time.  So this challenge will help us make our friends think more kindly of us.....when we forget their b'days.....we hope!!!!!

I used a very cute mini set from Taylored Expressions.  Be sure to visit the Crazies Blog to see the belated wishes of this fabulous (but sometimes late) design team.

Crazy4Challenges and Animals

Helen is the Crazy4Challenges hostess for August, and this week she asked us to use at least one animal on our cards/projects.  She added the twist of NO Bears or Bunnies!!!

I went with a pig.......this is from an old SU stamp set.  In real life, this is pretty in pink, but when I tried to get rid of the '"muddiness' of the photo it changed into a hot, hot. hot pink, so I left it muddy as the color is more true to life.

Be sure to visit the Crazies Blog to see the menagerie of animal creations....
