A sweet something for the Sugar Bowl

Well hello there! yes I am still here .. .. and at long last the neck is no longer killing me and I'm able to get back to a little light crafting.  I made this card a while back for the Sugar Bowl challenge #127, thankfully it still has a few hours to run so I am in time to enter!

I've used one of my old Country Cousins stamps called Angel Wishes and coloured her with my Copics to match some scraps of pale blue paper I had in my bit box.  She is still available but I see is out of stock at the moment - not sure about the digi version though.

Anyway, here is the card:

I've kept things simple as this one might end up being in the Charity box for my local St Francis dog rescue, although I did go overboard with the pearls!  As I said, the papers are oddments from my bit box and the edging across the bottom I already had cut out - I think a Nellie's Choice die if I remember rightly.  I added a few snowflakes cut from white scraps with one of the dies in Marianne Design set LR0327 and the pretty trellis from the die in set DF3416 that I just love! And the text is stamped onto a banner cut from a die in set COL1324.

The Christmas Card blog challenge #38 is anything goes, so I can also enter my card with them.

I am taking it easy so as not to trigger my neck into spasm again, but hope to be able to share a few more cards I've put together very soon.  Thanks for stopping by!

CCT Pets

A very simple card from me this week for my Cute Card Thursday DT project, our theme is pets and we are being sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps who kindly let the DT play with some of their digi images.  Unfortunately my printer is still playing up so I've had to revert to 'ink and rubba', but please go take a look at what the rest of the team have created.

I have been rummaging again .. .. and found my box of Sugar Nellie stamps that I've not used in a while.  This cutie seemed appropriate with the weather we have been getting, and sharing an ice cream with a spaniel seems the obvious thing to do!  Izzy's favourite is strawberry so I have made a C6 tent fold strawberry card with little scraps of digi papers and a plain background embossed with the Swiss Dots CB folder.  The image is called 'where's mine' and I think is meant to be a little boy, but I've coloured with my Copics for a tom-boy.  Not much else to tell you, my die cuts are made with Marianne Design dies, here's the list:

lace border across the top - LR0161
flowers - COL1323
leaves - CR1245

Sugar Nellie have a monthly blog challenge in the Sugar Bowl, so I can enter my card with them.  I must get more of SN stamps inked up, I do like the Country Cousins designs as they were called when they first came out.

The Corrosive Challenge is to use dies so another one I can enter.

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at my card, and hope to see you again soon!

Santa's Letter

I have had a hectic weekend getting the last few Christmas cards made and the presents sorted - just need to do a bit of wrapping up now. Most of the food is in except for the fresh salad and veggies to get later in the week. I'll ice the cake this afternoon and sit down and make sure I have all the ingredients for my recipes - I might just be organised after all! I am tired though, very tired, and the ME is certainly causing me some problems. I'd like to help get a few more tiles up in the bathroom and the kitchen, but think things may be on hold now until the new year. Hopefully my hubby will be here towards the end of the week and we can find the box of decorations in the loft so the place can be a little festive after all. As my grandsons will be here on Christmas Day I feel we should make an effort!

Today's card is for my youngest grandson so I've gone with bright colours, although the enhancement on the pc has perhaps made them a little bit too bright! The image is an old stamp from Sugar Nellie and I've used my Copics to colour in. I even made a note of the main shades I used: reds are R24, 27, 29 and 39; greens are G03, 05, 07 and 29; Santa's letter is E0000 and E40; and the browns are E53, 55, 57 and 59. I added BG0000 and BG000 for background shading before going around the image with the wet glue and loose glitter.
It's a simple layout with a scrap of digi paper from Cuddly Buddly (a free download from last year), a Cuddly Buddly sentiment and diecut poinsettias finished off with a couple of red domes.

Paper Sundaes have a celebratory theme and the One Stop Craft blog are looking for some Christmas sparkle - lots of sparkly glitter on my card!

I'll try and catch up with my commenters over the next couple of days, although I get very frustrated with the snail speed the internet runs at down in this part of Cornwall so keep wandering off to do something else while it tries to make a connection!

Dream Catcher

Copics:
hair and skin tones: EOOO, EOO, E21, E71, E74, E77
wings and dress: B000, BOO, B02, BV01, BV02, B60, E0000

Yesterday I went along to my local art and craft shop with my friends and by the time I got home after a delicious lunch then got around to putting the finishing touches to this card the light had gone. So, I've snapped the picture under my work light which really shows off the sparkle! The image is a digi download from Sugar Nellie, coloured with Copics of course, then I inked the background with Sea Breeze Versamagic chalk ink, but that didn't look right so I went over it with Pretty Petunia before adding the Stardust Stickles. I've used the sketch from the Flutterby Wednesday challenge blog but turned it sideways with paper from my stash that I've also inked and stickled. The text is by Lily of the Valley stamped with London Fog Momento as I wanted a soft look, then inked and stickled too! To embellish I've punched out hydrangea flowers, butterflies and little oak leaves finishing them off with the Waco crystal pearl maker pen from Cuddly Buddly. Moving Along With The Times challenge is 'Dreams' so I'm entering my little dream catcher with them too.
