Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016 - November

Hi everyone and happy Tuesday!! I have had a hard time getting in my craft room this month...hence the last minute entry into Tim's 12 Tags of 2016!! I've entered every month so far so I couldn't miss this one!! And I am short of time today, so this will be a quick post :)

My tag is quite a bit different from Tim's this month...I used products I had on hand. For the Remnant Rub Resist, I started with Remnant Rubs and then Distress Inks in Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Ripe Persimmon, Mowed Lawn and Mermaid Lagoon. The edges were inked with Gathered Twigs. For the Dimensional Coloring, I used the butterflies from his French Flight Framelets and colored them with Distress Markers and a TH Waterbrush. The metal leaves are from his Idea-ology Adornments Nature set.

I am entering this in Tim's 12 Tags of 2016 Challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day :)

Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016 - October, plus Vacation Pictures

Happy Tuesday!! I'm still working on getting around to your blogs to visit. I'd hoped to be able to comment on all of the posts I missed while I was away, but I was leaving so many comments, blogger thought I was a spammer. I had to click on the "not a robot" button and then the picture captcha..sometimes multiple pictures. And it's hard to figure out what I'm supposed to click on when the blog is in a foreign language. It's taking me so long for just one comment, there's no way I can comment on all of your posts and I truly apologize, but I am scrolling through to see all of the ones I missed.

I have a few vacation pictures to share with you but first, I have my October tag for Tim's 12 Tags of 2016 challenge.

I pretty much followed Tim's instructions, substituting for materials I had on hand. Sadly, I don't have the cool monster face dies, so I used the Rickety House instead. To add dimension to the house like he did to the face, I popped up the roof with foam tape.

Some close-ups of the crackle on the patchwork collage background.

Also, I used Tim's Wood Plank Texture Fade instead of the Rivet Texture Fade. Tim used a metal spider and mine's a remnant rub.

The house took up so much space, I didn't have room for a word band, so I used haunted, a remnant rub. The eye in the corner is also one, to represent the eye on Tim's tag.

I'm entering this in the following challenges:

1) Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016

Okay, now for some photos from my vacation if you're interested :) I took so many pictures, I haven't been able to go through them all, but I tried to pick out some highlights to share.

We had no agenda for the trip and really didn't know where we would end up. We pointed the motorhome south and started out on Galveston Island, Texas. Look...I found the perfect t-shirt:

So me!! It's even pink!! I had to buy it :)

The good thing about going in the off-season is that the are no crowds and you don't have to worry about reservations. We were looking for one campground and turned left instead of right, which took us to the east end where all the action was. Lucky for us we found a campground just steps away from the beach. I took this picture from a beach chair as I lounging under the awning.

We were right next to the spot where the helicopter took off for sightseeing tours of the island.

This is a shot of Pleasure Pier from the beach in front of the campground.

I snapped this shot of the pelican in front of one of the many ships that chugged along the waters.

After a few days in Texas, we drove along the bayous of Louisiana to...

...the Big Easy.

Here's a hazy shot of the city across Lake Pontchartrain.

And the Superdome.

From there, we drove along the gulf shores,

to Biloxi, Mississippi.

From there, it was on to Destin, Florida.

The campground we stayed at is actually in Miramir Beach and one of the few that you can camp right on the beach. I'm talking actually on the sand!! The view from the motorhome :)

Some pretty sea oats.

 The sunsets were amazing!!

So that's just a few shots from the trip. I truly didn't want to leave the beach, but it's back to the real world :) Thanks again for visiting my while I was away!! Have a wonderful day!! Big hugs :)

Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016 - July

Happy Sunday!! I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!! It's been raining here pretty much all weekend, which has put a damper on fireworks activity. I squeezed in a little time in my craft room to make a tag to play along with Tim's 12 Tags of 2016 Challenge. I'm 7-7 so far and even early this month :)

You can find the instructions for the tag HERE. I had to improvise quite a bit (as usual :) The stamp is from Tim's Urban Chic stamp set. This did give me the chance to use my Distress Glaze for the first time. I used Remnant Rubs for the stars.

I am entering this in Tim's 12 Tags Challenge.

To all my friends in the USA, I hope you have a safe and happy Independence Day!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day :)

Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016 - February

Happy Friday, everyone!! I hope you have fun plans for the weekend :) My craft room is still a huge mess, but I had to clear enough space to play along with Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2016 Challenge. I'm determined to play along every month...so far, so good :)

I followed Tim's instructions HERE, but I had to modify it with the products I had on hand. For the background monoprint technique, I used Tim's Latticework stencil. For the embossed gold, I used his Arrow stencil. I colored the Found Relatives image with Spun Sugar, Scattered Straw and Broken China Distress Markers. I used Tim's Movers and Shakers Hearts dies, and I covered them with some of his Washi tapes. The sentiments are Remnant Rubs.

DL.ART Thankful Thursday #173 and Random Acts of Kindness :)

Happy Thursday!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!! It's time for another Thankful Thursday Challenge at DL.ART!! The theme this week is a fun one: Valentine :)

I had two inspirations for these cards...first, the gorgeous Valentine Bundle from DL.ART. Aren't the ribbons beautiful? And the second is the fabulous Penny Black Happy Berries stamp sent to me from my sweet friend Alexandra of Art Scrap & More!! Thanks again for everything, Alexandra!! I absolutely love everything you sent :)

I started off by stamping the Happy Berries in Versamark and then heat embossing them with White Detail Embossing Powder by Sparkle N Sprinkle. I then inked the background with several different Tim Holtz Distress inks. For this card, I used Barn Door, Fired Brick, Festive Berries and Candy Apple. The edges were inked with Gathered Twigs. I then used a baby wipe to remove the color from the berries and to give a little texture to the Distress Ink. The ribbon is Red Hot Love from The Valentine Bundle. The button is a Poppystamps Stitched Button die and the red twine is from the DL.ART shop.

For this one, I used Spun Sugar and Victorian Velvet, along with Gathered Twigs along the edges. The corner dies are Anja's Vintage Corners from Marianne Designs. This is my favorite ribbon - Sweet Pink from The Valentine Bundle. The pink twine is also from DL.ART.

The heart is from My Creative Time. I made it into a shaker with Stampendous Shaved Ice. Love is a Die-Versions Compliments Everyday die. Among the leaves, I tucked Sue Wilson Catkin Stems, which I thought mimicked the Happy Berries stamp set, Memory Box Botanical Stems and Marianne Leaves dies, along with baby's breath. "With all my heart" is a Tim Holtz Remnant Rub.

I am entering these in the following challenges:

1. Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Love is in the Air + Red
2. Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
3. Simon Says Stamp Work it Wednesday - Something New (PB Stamp and DL.AR Ribbon)
4. 2 Creative Chicks - Anything Goes
5. Pause, Dream Enjoy Linky - Anything Goes
6. Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes

Random Acts of Kindness!!

My sweet blog friend Sherry of Createology has the most beautiful, generous soul. We crossed paths a few years ago and I am so fortunate and thankful to have met her in blogland. Among her many, many charitable deeds, she sews beautiful dresses for children around the world and she constantly sends random acts of kindness to her friends. I have been so fortunate to be the recipient of her generosity many times. I have a seaside image she sent to me that sits on my desk and brings me peace and joy each time I look at it.

I want to sit in that chair and look at that view every single day!! Joy!! Yesterday, I received an unexpected package from her and was shocked to open it to find this inside...

Look at this beautiful mermaid!! Sherry purchased this hand-sewn and painted mermaid several years ago from the artist's studio. She thought she would now want to live with me since I love everything mermaid. I was beyond touched...she's the most beautiful mermaid I've ever seen!! Then I looked at the tag from the artist where she named the origin (the Pacific Ocean) and the mermaid's name and not only did chills rack my body, but tears sprang to my eyes -- her name is Lana -- my Mom's name!! How perfect!! To say she will hold a special place in my home and heart is an understatement. I can only hope that when my mom sees her, she doesn't try to steal her from me :)

Thank you so much, Sherry and Alexandra for your kind, generous hearts!! I hope you all will visit both Sherry and Alexandra's blogs and tell them I sent you...not only will you find amazing inspiration, but even more amazing women!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Big hugs :)

Over the Moon Baby Blog Hop

We are so glad you have joined us for the

Over The Moon Baby Blog Hop!!

You will be inspired by all the Baby Projects & Gift Ideas on this hop. These ladies are amazing. Our friend, Jen, is expecting a little one soon, and we thought it would be fun to have a little hop in her honor. Put on some Christmas Music, sit down by the fire with your laptop, grab a candy cane to snack on, and enjoy the hop. There are 7 stops along the way (including me). You are not going to want to miss any of them!!

Here is my project:

The papers are from Bo Bunny's Prarie Chic paper stack and the edges were distressed with a Zutter DIA. I used the adorable onesie die from My Creative Time's Hello Baby set. I also cut it out in foam to pop it up for dimension. Baby is also from My Creative Time. Memory Box Chloe Stems and Tender Leaves dies are tucked under the Wild Orchid Craft blooms, along with a Fanciful Flourish die from Cheery Lynn. The butterflies are punches and they were covered with sugar coating. The Sweetest Thing is a Tim Holtz Remnant Rub.

Here is the complete blog hop lineup. Enjoy!!

Thanks for hopping with us today!!

Wicked Witches

Happy Tuesday!! I hope you are having a wonderful last week of August!! It's my turn to post on the Die-Versions Blog and I have a project to share with you using one of the new dies from the August 2015 Release.

It's almost September, which means October isn't too far off. Halloween will be here before we know it!! For this card, I used the new Whispers Brewing Friends die. Aren't they fun??!! I started out cutting the die in purple foam, and then cut it in several other colors to add color and dimension to the wicked witches (I chose to think of them as good witches, brewing up a happy potion, so they are wicked in the awesome sense ;) The background paper is from My Mind's Eye (I think?? Or maybe Recollections...if anyone knows, please let me know :)

The spider in the web is a Tim Holtz Remanent Rub-on. The crinkle ribbon is from the Newspaper Bundle from DL.ART The button on the ribbon is a Wee Petites Button die. Wicked is from Craftin' Desert Diva's Witch Crossing stamp set...I masked off the "A Little Bit" part to just leave wicked.

You can see all of the fun dies from the August release HERE. And we'd love to see your projects using Die-Versions dies on our Facebook page HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day :)
