Happy Halloween

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a great week!! It's been so cold here the last couple of days. It was in the 20's yesterday morning, as opposed to the 70's a year ago. Ugh. I'm so not ready for winter :( But, in the spirit of fall, I have a Halloween project to share with you today :)

This is a shadowbox project I created, using mostly Tim Holtz dies and stamps. The box was cut with Spellbinders Grand Squares dies and popped up with layers of foam tape for the dimension of the box. The paper is from My Mind's Eye. The moon in the corner was colored with a Mustard Seed Distress Marker and a TH Waterbrush. The bats are from Tim's Mini Halloween #1 set, stamped with Jet Black Archival Ink. The tree is a TH Branch Tree die, inked with TH's Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. The owl was stamped from the TH Mini Halloween #2 set. The fence is a TH On The Fence die, inked with Walnut Distress Ink. Happy Halloween is from the Mini Halloween #3 set, heat embossed with Zing Vanilla embossing powder.

The skeleton is from the Mini Halloween #2 set. It was heat embossed with Zing Vanilla embossing powder and fussy cut. The spider web is from TH's Mini Halloween #3 set, and it was also heat embossed with Zing Vanilla embossing powder. The spider is from the Mini Halloween set. Several of the elements were popped up with foam tape for dimension.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Spooky
  2. Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge  - Halloween or Halloween Colors
  3. Craftin Desert Divas - Halloween
  4. DL.Art - October Anything Goes Linky
  5. Sunday Funday #14 - Anything Goes
  6. Just B Creative Crazy - October Linky
  7. Funday Friday Challenge - Anything Goes
  8. 2 Creative Chicks - Halloween
My new blog design is still a work in progress. I'm having the hardest time getting the colors changed in several text areas. I hope to have all the kinks worked out soon. Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day :)

Tiny Little Thing

Happy Sunday!! I hope you are having a great weekend!! I have been working away in my craft room, trying to get projects done before I go on vacation later this month. I'll be gone for two weeks, so not only to I have to complete the projects but schedule the posts too. Plus pack!! So much to do :)

There are a couple of challenges I wanted to enter, so I have a baby card to share with you today :)

The papers for this card are from the 12x12 My Mind's Eye Lost and Found stack. I love the patterns, but the paper is thinner than the smaller packs, so it's not as easy to work with. I just used it for the base and anything I didn't have to die cut.

Spellbinders Exquisite Circles were used for the medallion. The paper is heavyweight cardstock from Canvas Corp. It was inked with Tim Holtz Spun Sugar Distress Ink, as were all of the edges of the papers. Each layer of the circles were popped up with foam tape for dimension and pearls were added from my stash. The sentiment is from Hampton Arts and stamped in TH Victorian Velvet Distress Ink.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Craftin' Desert Diva's #14 - Babies
  2. Funday Friday #16 - Sketch Time (see below)
  3. DL.Art - Thankful Thursday - September Anything Goes
  4. Just B Creative Crazy - Just Because September Linky Party
  5. Cut It Up Challenge - Labor Day

Thanks so much for stopping by today :)

In staying with my theme from the last three seasons, I created both a seasonal mixed media canvas and tag.

For this canvas, I started out with Spellbinders Snowflake Pendant 2013 dies cut in chipboard. I adhered them to the canvas with Claudine Hellmuth Multi-Medium. White tissue paper was then adhered over the top of the canvas to cover the snowflakes and to add texture. The paper was then covered with Liquitex Glass Beads Acrylic Texture Gel. The beads add awesome texture...it reminds me of snow. A mixture of one part Sea Mist Acrylic Paint and two parts water was brushed over parts of the canvas to give a little bit of color. More of the Spellbinders Snowflakes were cut out and covered with Tim Holtz Brushed Pewter Distress Stain and then covered with Recollections Fine Glitter. Winter was stamped with TH Tall Text stamps in Distress Embossing Ink. It was then heat embossed with silver embossing powder and the letters wee outlined with a Sakura White Gelly Roll pen.

Lorenna was stamped on old book paper and her dress was stamped on Core-dinations Core Couture paper. The wings are Julie Nutting Wings. Clear sequins were added to the dress and wings. The lace for the ruffle and her shawl are from Hobby Lobby. She was popped up with foam tape for dimension.

Here are all four of my seasonal canvases.

For my tag, I used Lorenna again because she's my favorite and I love her dress :) The papers for this tag are from My Mind's Eye O Christmas Tree stack. The side swirls are Spellbinders Fanciful Holidays dies. The poinsettias were cut from the paper. Merry Christmas is from the Tim Holtz Mini Holidays #3 stamp set. It was stamped with TH Distress Embossing Ink and then heat set with red embossing powder. Every other fold of the dress was adhered with foam tape.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. DL.Art - Thankful Thursday - August Anything Goes
  2. Sunday Funday - August Linky Party
  3. Just B Creative Crazy - Just Because Linky Party

Prima Doll Blog Hop - Week 1 Spring

Welcome to the Prima Doll Blog Hop!!  Have you seen the Prima Julie Nutting Mixed Media Doll stamps? They are ADORABLE!!

A few of us are having so much fun with them that we’ve decided to put together a 4 Part HOP and the rules are very simple. Each Tuesday throughout the month of August we will be sharing creations made with a variety of these fabulous stamps to inspire you.

All you will need to do is HOP to each of our blogs (links are below) each Tuesday in August and leave us a comment. Be sure to include your email address because on August 30th we will EACH BE GIVING AWAY A PRIZE. We will be sharing what our individual prize packages are on our blogs.

So what do you say? Ready for some fun??

For my Spring project, I decided to make a canvas.

I started with an 8x10 canvas and adhered strips of Fancy Pants Hopscotch paper with Claudine Hellmuth Multi Medium. I then took gesso and acrylic paints in baby pink and peach and drug them across the canvas with an old credit card and dabbed some of the color off with a baby wipe. White paint was brushed across bubble wrap and stamped on the canvas. Wendy Vecchi White Embossing Paste was used with a Crafter's Workshop Harlequin stencil to give some dimension. A Wendy Vecchi stamp from It's More Flower Art was stamped along with bottom with Ranger Archival Ink in Jet Black. The flowers were cut with a Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Garland die using the Fancy Pants Hopscotch paper, black paper from the Paper Studio and vellum. The letters were cut with a Tim Holtz Block Talk die in the Fancy Pants papers and black cardstock. The black was offset below the patterned paper to give dimension. The Rite of Spring stamp is from Artistic Outpost's Serenity stamp set.

Julie Nutting's Riley Doll was stamped first on old book pages and then paper pieced with the Fancy Pants paper. She was popped upwith foam tape for dimension and then outlined with charcoal.

And because I love these doll stamps so much, I created a tag, too :)

The tag is a Prima Julie Nutting Mixed Media tag. The papers are all from My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing paper stack. The background papers were cut with a Spellbinders Potpourri die and the side tab was cut with a Spellbinders Labels and Tags die. The flowers were cut from the paper and a few were popped up with foam tape for dimension. The ribbons are from 3 Girl Jam.

The doll was stamped on old book paper and paper pieced with the MME papers. The tulle for the skirt is from my stash. She was popped up with foam tape, too.

Some of my other projects using Julie Nutting's Prima Doll stamps (click on the picture to see the post).

I have blog candy!! How would you like to win one of these awesome doll stamps??!!
