Mal Waldron-Mal 81

Heres another, 80's Japanese only album by Mal Waldron, Beautiful in its way.
But ultimately a fairly routine mellow romp through a bunch of standards, isn't going to overly excite anyone who's into his most exploratory 1970-77, period.
All Standards ...
...........................a joint venture by  Teitchiku, and N.Y , Based Progressive records
enjoy...
Love the back cover!...

MAL WALDRON SEXTET "UNNA 1979"

This concert in northern Germany happened more than one year after "Moods" ( here) was recorded.
The line-up is quite similar as for this concert - Manfred Schoof plays for Terumasa Hino and Jimmy Woode for Cameron Brown.
All songs are also on the LP/CD which I recommend to buy if you do not have it yet.
For me it's a masterpiece.
You can listen to both recordings - a rare chance for examining the differences and similarities...
