gratitude
I am thankful for misty mornings, leaves of red and gold, reflections in the water, shorter days, holding hands, books and blankets in front of the fire, the love and laughter of family...
Wishing you all a very happy Thanksgiving!

angels at the window
One of my favorite annuals -- angelonia -- in a traditional iron hay rack window planter that I found at a rummage sale for $12... :)

cooling down
I think I must be the most contrary person imaginable. After complaining about winter and yearning for spring, summer has worn out it's welcome with me already. Maybe it's the heat and humidity here in NJ. At 91 yesterday, it was not as hot as some other parts of the country, but it was too hot for me. :)
So I have abandoned the bright colors of summer and taken to creating black & white conversions with added textures. And I am quite enamored of this little vase of mini-sunflowers. Just think of it as summer without the heat. :)

a bowl of cherries
I bought them to photograph, but oh how delicious they are. And I simply refuse to give in to the temptation to use that quotation... you know the one I mean... :)

change the world

snow in spring
This first week of spring will definitely be remembered. Fortunately, time dresses our memories in golden gauze.

feeling vintage
from my archives, newly edited.
Feeling a little vintage, and a little nostalgic for picnics in a summer field... :)

yet again...
My little pot of calla lilies is still going strong. And I've been in a texture-y mood lately. So here is the latest in what is turning out to be a rather long series...
There is just such a sense of mystery and grace to be found in these flowers. I am such a cottage-garden sort of girl, that these exotic calla lilies seem almost from another world. And I am having so much fun photographing them. :)

Heavenly
Every spring I always look forward to the Siberian Squill. I wait and wait, and just when I think they have disappeared, they carpet my beds with blue. Heavenly!
Have a wonderful weekend, dear bloggers!

Memories of Summer
Just a little bouquet of flowers for you today, to remind us all of fragrant summer gardens and green lawns sprinkled with tiny wildflowers. :)
