This first image would have to be one of my faves for last year. It came together so easily from concept to completion which is not usually the case.
I will often compile several images in a psd file trying to bring an idea to life but by the time it is completed it would be lucky if it still contain one of the original images that I compiled.

Time to catch up with some my artworks

Hi guys,

I thought it was time I posted some of my artwork as I realised I haven't posted any since last July. So here's what I've been up to in recent times.

I found out this morning that I had won the recent GhostWorks competition with this one which was a lovely surprise. Thanks to everyone who voted for supporting my work.

I created this for a recent dA Stock Users Gallery challenge where we had to create something with the background. All the entries were wonderful & so creative, a credit to them all! 

The Hare & The Moon

The myth of the Moon gazing hare reflects ancient beliefs. Pagans believed that seeing a moon gazing hare would bring growth, rebirth, abundance, new beginnings and good fortune. The hare is known to be sacred to the goddess Eostre and eventually became known as the Easter bunny. In some countries, it is customary to eat hot cross buns around the time of Easter and Christmas; the cross on the bun is said to represent the four quarters of the moon. These buns were originally pagan offerings and were often hung from rafters to scare off evil that lurked in houses.

This was for the past 42nd MMM Challenge.  I believe I came 2nd in this challenge which was cool as there were so many wonderful entries.

G'day and happy Thanksgiving to all!

I created this for our faestock users group challenge #36. We have been on hold since Feb as Jessica (faestock) had closed her stock modeling account on deviantArt and I for one am delight that she has decided to reopened her account. I love using her images in my art work, there's always something to inspire the imagination.  Jessica is a wonderful photographer and model with a very fun loving and generous spirit that shines through her work.

I  haven't been feeling very inspired when it comes to my art work lately.
To give myself a kick start I decided to make some premade backgrounds for digital artist use.

This work was born out of these premades. I used 3 of Jerry's from Shadowhouse Creations textures and his wonderful brushes. The model is Marie from the fabulous Grinmir-stock.

I came across Marta Orlowska's site the other week which is full of wonderful inspiration and insights.
I thought I would have a go at a couple of her tutorials "Creative Portrait" and "Mysterious Old Cities".


Here's my take on the two tutorials. I didn't follow them word for word as I like to put my own spin on things but I followed the basics. I hope you enjoy my version on these two wonderful tuts!

Rainy days ...

It's raining here today, so I though I would create some new textures and do a little editing.

Here's one I created this morning for you to use and a quick edited I did  to give you an example of use.

Inspired by the weather 

Umbrella image with my thanks to familymwr

This was a simple edit. I opened the texture and image, them applied the image over the texture, blend set to hard light. I then duplicated the image twice, set the first to soft light and desaturated the layer. The next layer was set to normal, opacity to 33%, I then added a rain layer above the first umbrella layer, flattened the image and finished with a slight curves adjustment.
