Merry Christmas Elephants and Snowflakes

More leftovers...this time some die cut, colored elephants from W Plus 9 Designs stamps and dies.  I decided to use them to make a couple Christmas cards...Hey...kind of different, elephants on Christmas cards, I know, Elephants would be FAR away from snow and snowflakes...but they are cute... anywhere, anytime:)!!...
Snipped around his trunk and added a snowflake hung on a silver thread and added a bow...
The second one, snowflakes all around, another WPlus9 design die for the sentiment...
...a close up...
...and the "Merry Christmas" on the inside...
Having SO MUCH FUN!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Another Trio of Flowers...Feel Better Soon

Today's card uses up a lot of leftovers.  The flowers are leftovers from yesterday's card.  The frames are scraps that have been sitting in my folder filled with white scraps SO LONG, that I could not remember WHAT DIE I USED FOR THE FRAME!! ...
Hmmmm...a scalloped, stitched frame...and layered( I KNEW that it HAD to come that way to have layered it)??  Well, after MUCH searching, I found it.... a W PLUS 9 frame die in a set with sunshine and clouds...but what's SO COOL is having scraps, that, even though so old, and been hanging around  so long, finally find a use on a card!!   Doesn't help with my tendency to hoard scraps...as with evidence of this card, hoarding scraps isn't a bad thing:):)!!  I used paint chips for the flowers, and had them match the flowered paper that I had purchased at AC Moore and used as the background for the flowers...I thought this paper was SO PRETTY!!  I layered the flowers, and used a dark brown paint chip for the stems and leaves...a little unconventional, but matched the leaves on the background paper.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink, stamped with versamark on vellum and white embossed. Here's a close up...
I think I'm going to keep these flower dies on my desk...more fun to come:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Another CAS(E) this Sketch! 184...BABY

I just couldn't resist another card for the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge this week!!  This card uses the sketch sideways!  Here's my card and the sketch...

I used a onesie die from W Plus 9, letters from Papertrey Ink, and one of my favorite border dies from Pretty Pink Posh.  The flower is from a retired Memory Box die, Floral Delights.  Here's a close up...
My daughter, Hannah, often adds her creative inspiration to my cards...sometimes you just need another pair of eyes to look and see what you don't!   I was not crazy about my first attempt...just missing something, so I asked her opinion ...
...she suggested I add some white stitches to my border:)!  SO...I put a new panel on top of the original after hand drawing the white stitched lines on the panel in lieu of the die cut stitching.
I like the white stitches much better:):)!!  This sketch has been so much fun!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Mom's Musical Group 2015

My mom is the Sunshine Committee for her music group...she is in charge of sending birthday cards to the members:)!  I make musical themed cards for her each year...here are a couple of the cards I made last night....will be making them all the same design, and simply changing up the color of the flower...

I DO struggle each year to make a card that is musical, flowery, simple and EASY...just because there are so many to make (40-50).  So... I opted for a big flower with a musical scored background. I used textured paper for the flower for added...texture:):)!   I DID use craft foam under my main panel, as mailing cards with craft foam for lift, as opposed to a bunch of pop up squares, will fare better when they get to the recipient:)!!  I chose the sentiment, "Happy Birthday to you" to mimic the song...musical...hey, I tried:)!!  Adding the die cut middles and leaves...it took a while to put each of  these cards together due to so many elements, not as simple, but an easy card to make:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Love + Birds = Lovebirds

I have had the Impression Obsession Love Birds die for a long time, decided it was high time I made a card with it...
Die cut the birds in white, but thought they looked cooler black, so after 3 layers of white, covered with a black die cut image. The wings are ALSO layered.  The cool thing about this die is that it comes with the birds on a branch, their wings, AND the hearts...all in one die.  The "LOVE" die is from WPlus 9 Design, layered several times, too.  The hearts and "LOVE" we're colored with a red marker.  A close up...

I Miss You with Love

I made a card with another of the ADORABLE elephants from WPlus Design.  The set is called Bubble Talk, and their coordinating dies...
I stamped, colored, die cut and layered both the ellie and sentiment/bubble, then adhered to American Craft patterned paper I purchased at AC Moore.  The "funny" thing about my card...I LOVED the gray paper behind the elephant...only thing was, the only paper I had with this color and texture (a piece of bazzill paper, color unknown) was a panel 1/4" shorter on top and sides, than a standard card!  SO, rather than cut down the panel the elephant sat on, I decided to layer the elephant panel onto the cut down gray piece, making the top and bottom of the yellow piece pop off the card....I thought it looked cool!  So, there it is...a short leftover can make a new design for card making!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Unforgettable

I LOVE the elephants in the new WPlus9 stamp sets!!  They are adorable!!  Only thing is, I think they look cutest colored, and I AIN'T a colorer!!  I tried my best...I DO think coloring and shading takes practice and some knowledge, neither one of which I have, but I gave it my best shot!!  These elephants are so cute, perfection in coloring isn't really needed, they would look cute cut out of grey paper, or with polka dots...This card was made with the Unforgettable set...
Stamped, die cut, colored and layered both the little guy and balloon.  Adhered to panel, and popped up on card.   Drew the white line on balloon with white gel pen.  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
