Wreaths of Joy

I used the wonderful new Reverse Confetti Wreath of Joy die to make a couple cards...
I LOVE this die!!  The dimension of the wreath, the sweet leaves and the die cut lines in each leaf, make it soooo cool and sooooo pretty!!  I used traditional colors for both my wreaths and cards, but pastels would be sweet, or maybe blues would be cool, too!  Simply done, striped patterned paper for the background, popped up.  The "J" and "Y" have snowflake patterned paper. I layered both the letters, leaves, and the background of the sentiment die.   I used a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Slimline Scene Builder Christmas stamp set for underneath the sentiment die, stamped with versamark and white embossed. I used Tonic Drops for the berries on the wreath.  I put drops on  piece of acetate, let them dry, and used my exacto knife to remove them.  I then adhered them to the wreath...
  Here's a close up...

The second one, the wreath and letters all in gold...

I used the same tonic drops for this wreath, as I did for the first wreath.  I also used the same striped
paper as I did for the first card, this time I used it for the entire card.  I die cut a frame from two of the
Simon  Says Stamp A7 Thin Frame dies to make a frame for the die cut sentiment.
Here's a close up...
These were so so much fun!!  The possibilities are endless for the color combos you can use to make
cards with this super pretty word die!!  Christmas, here we come!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog today, it means alot!!

Sweet Succulent Thank Yous

I'm in Florida visiting my daughter, son-in-law, and baby granddaughter for a couple weeks!!  I had helped my daughter with some baby thank you cards a number of months ago, and just had to show you a few...
My daughter, Hannah, LOVES succulents!!  She wanted to make her baby thank you cards with succulents on them, so I chose the My Favorite Things Sweet Succulents...I thought the plants looked fun, yet amazing, and had a variety of pots to go with them!!  I stamped on watercolor paper, die cut, and layered the plants and pots, and added adhesive dots on the bottom of the 70+ pots.  I also stamped the wonderful sentiment stamp from Reverse Confetti, Lots to Say (LOVE this set, and perfect for these potted pretties!!) on 70+ cards.  I sent all of these plus my Peerless paints, some of the blocks from my Zig box of paints, adhesive and some brushes.  Hannah colored all the succulents and adhered them to the cards!  These cards were a joint effort:)!!  She had some that she hadn't sent yet, so I snapped some pics.  A succulent and sentiment...simple!!  Here's a close up of the first...
The second a blooming cactus...love the way she shaded the pot...
She loved the thought of being able to paint, and I LOVED the thought of her painting the plants and pots, too!  I have fun watercolor painting every once in a while, but am definitely not as adventurous as Hannah! I  think she did an AMAZING JOB coloring!!  Here's a close up...
Here's a pic of the cards she has not yet sent...
SUCH FUN!!!  How wonderful and so amazing that you can make so many cards that look so different, yet with only one stamp set, and have a long distance bonding moment with your daughter on top of all that fun..LOL!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Rustic Joy with a Wreath

Kind of a rustic, simple Christmas card made with more of my leftovers!!  I had the wreath sitting in one of my many bags of leftover die cuts and added the layered "J" and "Y"...
*****Okay...I just could not like this card as it was(the second photo)...so I edited it a bit*****
...see if you can tell how...

...I think chopping a little off the top makes a BIG difference...with too much card, the "JOY" is a bit lost...what do you think??
I added a  bottom of stamped stripes and some twine from the Target dollar section...

Less than one week from Christmas, this will be my last Christmas card...hope you have all yours made and mailed!!  It's been such fun!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Having Fun With Leftovers...Joy!

I made a card with leftover die cuts...
I save my leftover die cuts.  Some projects work, others, not so much, but...call me a hoarder or maybe as I'd like to say, a hopeful hoarder, I save the die cuts I don't use for another day...another project.  THIS is what my craft desk looked like when I opened my 4+ bags of leftover die cuts to sort and decide what to keep or use...AGHHHHH!!!!!....what a mess, but what POTENTIAL!!!...
I chose to use the snowflakes from the discontinued Memory Box die, Snowflake Love Pendant die (on the bottom left in the above picture), cut them off the die cut, layered and used the Pretty Pink Posh Film Strip dies that I had leftover(in the middle), layering them as well.  I combined them with a piece of watercolored paper, that I had THROWN IN THE GARBAGE, my craft garbage can...but remembered it, and thought it would be perfect for THIS project...TOO FUNNY!!!!  I adhered them to a card that I had used the Papertrey Ink Impression Plate and then die cut the Reverse Confetti Joy to finish the card(layered too)!  Here's a close up...
I have ideas for A LOT more of my leftovers...stay tuned!!!!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

An Oval of Flowers Done Monotone

While I'm away visiting my daughter, I thought I'd post another card that I made with my Simon Says Stamp Oval of Flower cards...this one done with white cardstock and some linen cardstock that had backing...
I thought it looked cool with just a piece of linen behind the layered flowers.  The sentiment is a die from Reverse Confetti, also layered and die cut with the same linen cardstock as the top layer.  I made this just like the card I made HERE, a couple weeks ago!  Here's a close up...
Hope you are all having a great week!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

A Daisy Thanks

Happy April 1st!!  I haven't been out in blogland in a while, but went over to my FAVORITE sketch challenge,  CAS(E) this Sketch!, and when I saw the sketch for this week, I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to do!!  Here's my card and the sketch (notice that my card IS the sketch:):)!!) ...

I REALLY felt in the mood to put a daisy on my card...daisies are such friendly and happy flowers...and who doesn't need some friendly and happy...especially for a thank you card!  Only thing...I had to use dies from FIVE different companies to make this card...the stem is from a My Favorite Things die set that is no longer available(I really love this set too:(!), Fresh Cut Flowers...yes, having LOTS of dies DOES come in handy!!!!  The daisy is Hero Arts, the middle is Simon Says Stamp, the leaves Memory Box and the sentiment Reverse Confetti!  I layered everything, and embossed the leaves from the set of four dies all over the card panel...like the sketch! Here's a close up...
I really am inspired by sketches, even if it is a literal interpretation:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Four Die Cut Rainbow Birthday Cards

I have been on a roll with scraps!   I had 3 scraps of rainbow paper strips on my desk, and knowing I couldn't use them for a very sizeable sentiment, or very many, I tried to make the most and came up with FOUR simply done birthday cards...
This one used two Papertrey Ink dies, the "birthday" layered 3 times underneath the color.  The HAPPYs are adhered to the card(and not perfectly I must admit...oh well...perfection is highly overrated...and this was my second attempt, and I became too tired to care...I think it STILL looks nice:)?!!).  That IS the only problem with Glossy Accents used on a die cut that you adhere directly to a card...you only get one shot at precise...once you lay it down, moving it leaves a trail of glue goo, so if you don't get it right, it's a trail of glue goo, a redo, or a boo boo...mine is a boo boo.  I'm laughing at myself:):)!!  Here's a close up...
This is the second one I made with the same scrap as the first, again using the Papertrey Ink "birthday" die.  The "HAPPY" is a cut apart sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Tiny Tags stamp set.  Used a black background using the backside of the patterned paper that I used for the last card on this post:):)...using ANOTHER scrap!!...and the pattern of the background matches the pattern on the "birthday"...
 ...a close up...
The third one uses a die from Reverse Confetti and the same "HAPPY" from the previous card...
I used an impression plate from Papertrey Ink to add a little interest without having to add another element to the diagonal rainbow(the only way I could make the die fit the scrap...kinda like the diagonal lines!!)...
The last, but not least, is one very similiar to one I made a few months ago, except, this time with a black background(matching the pattern of the sentiment) and no stamped sentiment...

and a close up...
Oh, I am having sooooo much fun!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
