Glittery Flowers

I made a flower filled birthday card with a solid flower stamp and die from Gina K Design, along with a coordinating stencil and  some glitter paste...
(I have updated the pic, as I didn't like the first one, so much,,,)
I was inspired by Cathy Zielske(I am inspired by her...A LOT...I love her stamps/dies and the cards she makes:)!!), and the beautiful card she made with this same set, HERE!  She inspired me to get this set and I got  some glitter paste to have fun with, too!!  This set of stamps/dies/stencil has such wonderful potential!!  I stamped and die cut the flowers and leaves, then used the stencil to add some glitter to the flowers.  I layered both the flowers and leaves and added a sentiment from the Birthday Builder stamp set from Altenew.  Here's a close up...
Simple, sparkly fun...I'm in love!!

Watercolored Birthday

I used stamps and dies from a number of companies, to make a flowery, watercolored, birthday card...
The Simon Says Stamp Clustered Leaves dies are BEAUTIFUL!!  I combined the new outlined die with the solid leaves, and chose to use the ENTIRE die on my card.  This die is long and beautiful, the size of the card was 6 3/4" x 4", to accomodate the entire die.  I embossed the solid die onto watercolor paper, and using my watercolor brush, dabbled paint onto the embossed image.  I then die cut the die from the watercolored paper.  I die cut the Outline Cluster in white cardstock several times, and layered all three.  I then adhered the watercolored solid with the outlined, layered die cuts.  I die cut the flower from Penny Black (one of my forever favorite flower dies!!)  from watercolor paper, and  brushed the petals with watered paint.  I layered and adhered then adhered to leaves. I added a middle to the flower, also watercolored, made from a retired MFT Stamps set, Upsy Daisy.   I added a sentiment from my go-to birthday sentiment stamp set from Altenew, and added Tonic drops to finish.  Here's a close up...
Been hunkered down in the house with such gold weather here in Virginia today (28 degrees, but with wind feels like 16 degrees!!)...but, I am having fun in my craft room:)!!  For those of you facing this winter cold snap, hope you are staying warm wherever you are!!

Heart Party Circle Cards

I recently got the Memory Box Heart Party Circle die...I thought it was too pretty to pass by when looking through dies at Simon a number of weeks ago!  I made a couple cards, one using the circle as it was designed, the other, with the circle cut apart!
The first one, I die cut and layered the die cut hearts.  I then colored the hearts with sharpie and mark it markers, and dotted the circles with Tonic Crystal Drops.  The sentiment is from Altenew's Birthday Builder stamp set.  Here's a close up...
The second one, I die cut the circle of hearts, then used a scissor to cut and trim the circle into 3 pieces, 2 of which are used on the card below...
I used the circle of hearts like leaf sprigs on either side of my Penny Black Pinwheel die cut flower.  The sentiment is Paper Smooches.  The striped paper strips on either side are from a 6x6 pad of paper from MFT Stamps.   I also used Doodlebug enamel dots to accent the vine of hearts.  Here's a close up...
Yep...a pretty AND a fun die!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Birthday Flower Cards

I made some birthday cards for my mom!  Daisies and sunflowers are her favorite flowers, so I chose a couple daisy looking dies and my favorite sunflower die for my cards, and made cards to celebrate my mom...
This card was my mom's favorite, so I thought I would start with it!  The Penny Black Pinwheel die is probably my favorite stand alone flower die...I just LOVE it...and have for a long time.  I chose to pair it with a couple Simon Says Stamp dies for the flower's center and the background woodgrain panel, and a retired Memory Box leaf die for this first card.  I layered the flower and added an Altenew happy birthday sentiment...
Yes, there is a theme going on with these cards...white, yellow, brown/kraft, and green.  I didn't plan it that way, that's just the way it turned out.  The second one used the Simon Says Stamp's Big Mom die, along with some Simon sentiment stamps.  The daisy and it's leaves are part of a retired die set from My Favorite Things, Flower and Leaf Trio...
The center of the flower was also from the same die as the first card, Simon's Stitched Daisy dies.  Here's a close up...
The third one I used my favorite Sunflower die set, by Simon Says Stamp, along with a sentiment from the Altenew stamp set as used above, Birthday Builder. The panel behind the sunflower is a retired die from My Favorite Things, Vertical Stitched Strips

Birthday Wreath

I recently got the Lawn Fawn Spring Sprig die...thought it wa so cute...I played around and came up with turning the sprig into a wreath...
I used three sprigs and layered each with another layer.  I attached them and added layered flowers around on the little circles of the sprig...leaving random circles without flowers.  I added Tonic drops on the flower centers as well as on the empty green dots.  I added a sentiment from the Altenew Birthday Builder stamp set...I LOVE all the wonderful fonts and sizes of the multitude of Happy Birthday sentiments...this set will show up A LOT on MY cards...LOVE!!!   Here's a close up...
I plan on using this die again... just wish I had more hours in the day to make all the cards I have ideas for...so much fun, so little time!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Shattered Triangles...Rainbow Style

I used paint chips with the Altenew Shattered Triangle die set to make a birthday card...
I die cut fourteen different colors of paint chips with the dies, adhered them to die cut then embossed triangles, and then layered the die cut triangles on top of the colors...three layers.  Ok...have to say...this was a bit of work.  I don't know what I was thinking, but I thought both small triangle dies had the same shaped pieces, just in different places on the triangles....WRONG!!  The two triangles of each size have different shaped triangles within them.  SO...I wound up having to recut many of the colored pieces to achieve my rainbow, making pieces that fit precisely into the places that I planned on placing them.  Oh my...I LOVE the look of the paint chips, but I am wondering how coloring the triangles with similiar colors would look....maybe will have to try it...but I would definitely go for something a bit simpler next time....but LOVE this die and it's possibilities!  Here's a close up...
Oh, geometric shapes, rainbows, and paint chips...it don't get much better than this:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Happy Birthday Hugs

I LOVE the My Favorite Things Stitched Flower dies!!  I made a birthday card with my favorite color scheme...pinks green and gray(the striped paper is from Hobby Lobby)...
I had had the MFT Stitched Cover Up Vertical die for a while, but thought these flowers, fit it perfectly!  I die cut and layered both the flowers and the frame, using the tiny flowers on the bottom to mimic the single flower on the top.  The sentiment is from Altenew, Birthday Greetings set.  Here's a close up...
Fun to make everyday cards in the midst of Holiday creatin'!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

CAS(E) this Sketch 186...Fall Leaves Thanks

There's a new sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch!  Here's my card and this week's sketch...
(I edited my card and moved my leaves a little lower to go a bit better with the sketch.)

Feeling in a "Fall" mood today...even though the heat index is in triple digits here in Virginia...ugh.  I used watercolor paper, watercolors, and Impression Obsession die, to make my leaves.  I colored the paper, then die cut.  I do think this is a first in maybe forever, or at least in a LONG time...I DIDN'T LAYER THE LEAVES!!  Watercolor paper is pretty thick anyway, but I thought they looked more like delicate leaves with single layers.  I added Lawn Fawn's Stitched borders(all of them still attached to one another)on an angle for the bottom of the card.  The sentiments are by Altenew.  Here's a close up...
I just can't get enough of these sketches, of late...SUCH FUN!!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

**EDITED**
Thank you so much, ladies, for the recognition of my card as a FAVORITE for this week's challenge...

...you made MY week!!!

You Are My Happy Place

I just couldn't resist making a card with the brand new Simon Says Stamp Basic Squares dies from the Among the Stars collection released last week...
...except that I didn't take them apart before I made my card.  What makes this set so unique it that this set has some really big squares, and that makes making a card like this so much fun!!  Here's a pic of the dies...
I used a number of different colored patterned papers, adhered to a solid square, and then cut down to fit on the card at an angle. I used a sentiment from Altenew and a stick on shiny black heart!   Here's a close up...
This was FUN!!  Make sure you check out the wonderful new release over at Simon!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Yellow Birthday Flowers!

I got the My Favorite Things I'm Tweet on You stamp and die set...I got them because I not only love birds and birdbaths(we have 2 baths in our backyard), but the flowers in this set are AMAZING, too!!  I am in a real flower mood, so I will start my use of this "tweet" set with some flowers...
I stamped, die cut, and colored the flowers with my Prismacolor markers, used one of my favorite sentiment dies from Reverse Confetti, coupled with a couple stamped sentiments from Altenew.  I tried to ombre my sentiment to match the flowers.  I used an Impression Obsession Pinstripe background stamp for the bottom of the card.  I popped up the white panel over the striped and layered and alternated the flowers over the v-die cut.  Here's a close up...
Oh, how I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE flowers!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
