Sail Away Birthday Cards

My amazing son-in-law turned 30 a couple days ago!  He had a "Hook" themed party, so I made him a remake of a pirate card I had made a couple years ago.  While out on my desk, I decided to use the Simon Says Stamp sailboat die(such a cute little die!!) I had opted NOT to use for his card, to make another birthday card...

I decided to die cut three different striped patterned papers for my sailboats, layered them, then mixed them up when I adhered them to the card.  I used a sentiment from Simon Jumbo Stripes stamp set.  Here's a close up...

Oh...here's the card I made for my amazing Nic...
It's A LOT like the  one I made HERE...there are not a lot of pirate stamps out there...love this Clearly Besotted set!    I versamarked the waves to give them some depth of color.  Here's a close up of the card I made for Nic...
Hope you have a marvelous Monday:)!!   Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Happy Easter Chickie

I thought the little chickie in the new Clearly Besotted stamp set, In Stitches Easter, was adorable....
I WILL say, though, you must have either a great eye or, as in my case, a stamp-a-ma-jig, for positioning!  Each one of the wings, the feet, the tuft on the head, and the beak are all individually stamped...and after a WHOLE bunch of failed attempts, I finally got smart and got out my stamp-a-ma-jig!!  SO MUCH EASIER with a much better result...lining up the chickie's parts THEN stamping...but ...that IS five separate stamps and five times lining it up!!  I have 2 more I made when I finally figured out how to make this little cutie, which I will definitely be making something with.  HAD to have little google eyes:)!!  So....he might look a little bare, but I was thinking white...egg...purity...Easter...and I was just too pooped from all my stamping that I thought it enough to put my little cutie a solo on this card:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

CAS(E) this Sketch 111...Thinking of You

I LOVE sketches...and the CAS(E) this Sketch sketch for this week is no exception!  The only thing is...being a very visual interpreter, I have to confess....ovals are tough for me!  Now I know, I could substitute squares or rectangles for that oval, but being VISUAL...I couldn't escape the oval...so I flipped the sketch and did some stamping off (I think they also call it second generation:)!).  Here's my card and the sketch...

Pretty simple card...LOVE the Beanstalk Green ink from Simon Says Stamp...what a perfect green for this technique!!  I used Spellbinders Petite Ovals which I could not find, but wanted to let you know what I used for my oval die cuts, layered and nested:)!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

EDITED***  Thank you, ladies, at CAS(E) this Sketch!...My card was given an honorable mention this week...what fun!!

So Missing You

The theme at Splitcoaststampers for the Dirty Dozen design team for March was Sound of Music, as the last of the Von Trapp children, Maria, had passed away at the end of February at 99 years young.  I will be showing you one of the cards I made...my favorite, for that month...based on the "Do Re Mi" song...
I die cut the letters and layered (3 layers) and adhered to a musical stamped background.
Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
