"The Rotations Project" is an European musical project (England / Spain / Austria / France) initiated by Wehwalt and centered around the motorized and remote-controlled guitar conceived by the French musician Gryphée.
Each of the musicians worked this guitar's sample provided by Gryphée in a totally free way, using sonic masses to obtain a final result as eclectic as consistent.

Wehwalt is an individual in the sense defined by the german philosopher Max Stirner in his book Der Einzige und sein Eigentum ( The ego and its own).

He always refused to be limited to movements and schools. Since 1989, his conception of music leads him to a new attitude of no definition and a quest of new spaces of constant metamorphosis. Polymorphous entity, he gives priority to unique and spontaneous performances, combining unpredictable sonic textures with an inner self poetic inspiration in order to produce a « mise en abime » and a special kind of pyschic and physical creation.

Wehwalt - Lacrima Christi (DNA Production, 2010)

"Lacrima Christi" is an unreleased album that has been originally recorded live in 2004 at the music festival in Jamet Hall at Saint-Herblain, France.
This enhanced version was out as ultra-limited self-released cassette (10 copies).
"Lacrima Christi" is influenced by long period of excessive alcohol consumption (in particular famous Italian wine) and by author's atheist conviction.

Myrrha refers to a greek legend. According to this story, Myrrha, victim of her incestuous father, Cinyras, king of Cyprus, implored the gods to banish her from the world of the living and the dead, after a nine moons restless wandering in the woods. They changed him into a tree. The myrrh is said to be the loading of her tears during her transformation.
In the end, through a split in her bark, she gave birth to Adonis, a major god representing death and renewal, who is associated to roses and myrtle.

Although this album is inspired by this legend, it does not follow the purpose to depict the sad adventures of Myrrha, but must be interpreted as a symbol of creation. The music, changeable and always unexpected, begins to develop its mental flow and carries our deep emotions. One hears distant whispers, the breath of wind and the things coming to life from the very core of their stillness, to create a sound painting of man's and nature's most secret inner forces.

Reçu un mail de Gael, qui joue sous le nom de Wehwalt, pour présenter son travail, sous titré: tableau sonore pour bandes magnétiques et quatre pistes cassettes en neufs parties innominées / Received a mail from Gael, doing music under the moniker Wehwalt, to introduce his work, subtitled: tableau sonore pour bandes magnétiques et quatre pistes cassettes en neufs parties innominées

Pour cet album j'ai fait le choix délibéré d'utiliser mon quatre pistes cassettes, ainsi qu'un magnétophone à bande revox trouvé dans une brocante pour un prix modique.
Les bandes contenaient plusieurs sons pris aux alentours de chez moi entre Novembre 2008 et Janvier 2007 avec un micro parabolique.
Sur les cassettes avaient été capturées plusieurs sessions d'enregistrements réalisées "en salle de travail" (la salle de répétition "Le Jam" à la chapelle/erdre), entre Mars et Juin 2008 avec mon fils Ezeckiel, où il joue entre autres, du xylophone, de la guitare et de l'harmonica.
C'est début 2009 qu'en faisant du tri dans mes archives que je suis tombé sur ceux-ci.
J'ai alors décidé de faire un montage et un mixage du tout, via un MAO: magix music studio et audacity.
Le titre m'asété inspiré par le tableau de François Boucher représentant toute l'ambiguïté de la mythologie autour de Léda et le cygne.

For this album I made the deliberate choice to use my four-track tapes and a tape recorder revox found in a flea market for a low price.
The tapes contained sounds recorded around my home between November 2008 and January 2007 with a parabolic mic.
On the tapes had been captured several recording sessions made "in the labor room" (the rehearsal room "The Jam" at La Chapelle sur Erdre) conducted between March and June 2008 with my son Ezeckiel, where he played among other , xylophone, guitar and harmonica.
It is early 2009 sorting out in my archives I came across them.
I decided to make a montage and mixing at all.
The title was inspired by the painting by François Boucher representing the ambiguity of the mythology around Leda and the swan.
