Birthday Balloons @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

our newest Girlfriend, Imke, is up for her premiere hosted challenge and she wants to see birthday balloons. How fun! I went thought about a few different concepts for this one but in the end I went with what I like best to do.....(Okay, sidebar.  Upon proofreading the preceding sentence, I realized it ain't right.  But seeing as that's pretty much how the went thought went I thought I'd leave it as is.)

....a coloured digi, some paper piecing, and lots of (maybe too busy??) patterned paper.  Digi is from Pernilla Nilsson.  Have to admit, I'm a bit smitten with the pom pom.  (:  I'm also slightly flabbergasted that the paper piecing worked out so perfectly.  Not usually how my things in my life go, but I'll take it.

Why not give our challenge a go this week and head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up?  And, while you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.

Bundle Up! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Kate's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Bundle Up!" which just means that she wants to see those projects that have clothing to brave the winter weather like toques, mittens, heavy coats etc.

Our weather here in midwestern Ontario has been all over the place this winter. We had enough snow at the beginning of January for my kids to snowmobile though it was bitterly cold, in the -20s. (And remember, this is Canada we're talking about so all temps are in Celsius.) Then it warmed up and rained, and now we've got just a dusting of the white stuff. Temps have been bouncing all over the place too....Sunday it was up to 7ºC and today it's -12º, feels like -19º. All that so I can set up how fitting my card is....

...coz if we're gonna have winter temperatures, we might as well have snow.

I swear my photo didn't look that drab earlier.  Oh well, there's no coloured image so I don't think a retake is necessary.   I'm going to make more of a effort to get brighter photos for my makes....it's just that, as you all know, with less daylight hours, photo taking time is pretty limited.  Tried a homemade lightbox awhile back but found it to be too much effort....and my cat stuck her paw through the tissue paper on the one side (which my kids thought was hilarious) so that ended that.  (You know, because putting on new piece of tissue paper was just waaaaaay too difficult.)

Why not give our challenge a go this week and head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up?  And, while you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.

Omg, Quit Using Images That Haven't Been Released Yet - Fab Friday @ Tiddly Inks

It's January's Fab Friday time - yay!  I've got a card to show you, of course, but it's not the card I had originally made for today's Fab Friday.  Nope, for like, the 3rd time, I went ahead and used an image that has not been released yet because this is what apparently I do when Christy sends an email to the DT.

Me:  New digis - yay!!
Also Me:  *reading the first bit of the email*
Me:  Digis, digis, digis, digis.....look, hey look!  Look at the new digis!
Also Me:  Shhhhhh....*peering at the message*
Me:  DIGIS, DIIGGIIS, DDDIIGGGIIISSSSS, DDDDDDIIIIIIIGGGGGGIIIIIISSSSSS....OMG, THEY ARE SO CUTE!
Also Me:  But there's important information here I have to know, just a minute......
Me:  *whispering*  There's new Wryns.
Also Me:  Wait, what?  *looks at the images*
Me & Also Me:  *singing DIGIS, DIIGGIIS, DDDIIGGGIIISSSSS, DDDDDDIIIIIIIGGGGGGIIIIIISSSSSS....OMG, THEY ARE SO CUTE! both in two part harmony and as a round while printer chugs out every image in the email*

So, my original card can't be shown because if I would have read the entire email, then I would have seen that those images aren't hitting the interwebness until February.  (Wait 'til you see them - so much cuteness!)

I thought I was going to have to do a Throwback post with a past card but I got lucky and part of my son's practice was cancelled so I had time to make something different....and I was glad it all worked out this way because I quite like how this turned out.....

I used Wonky Flowers which is a set of 2 digis for $2.00.  Deals don't get much better than that!

Do make sure you go check out the other fabulous Fabby Friday makes the rest of the DT has come up with. You can see 'em all right here.

Round Up Time! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Brenda's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying it's "Round Up Time!" which means she wants to see round projects. So fun!

I love making round cards....but for some reason I don't do it very often. Probably because I'm such a square - haha. This is what I did....

No stamps on this one. Pineapple and letter dies are from Paper Smooches.  I'll admit, I did struggle with this one.....couldn't seem to figure out a good layout for Mr. Pineapple.  Turned out he just needed a friend and a frame to make it come together.

Why not give our challenge a go this week and head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up?  And, while you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.

Boy Oh Boy @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's my turn to choose the challenge and I'm going with, "Boy Oh Boy" which just means that I would like to see projects for or about boy or men.....or just anything masculine-like.

This is what I did.....

Inside reads:  It's just another birthday.

I decided to go cas and I used Cute Cactus from Tiddly Inks, which is a great digi.....I just ended up making a Meh card with it. So Meh, in fact that after I got it all done, I took it apart so I could jazz it up.  So now it still looks Meh, but slightly less cas.  *sigh*  Sometimes it is what it is, right?  For the record though, saying that doesn't make me any less grumpy about making or posting Meh cards.

Why not give our challenge a go this week (coz I know your cards will be so much better than Meh) and head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up?  And, while you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.

Winter Wonderland @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's our first challenge of 2018 - yay! And, it's Heather's turn to host and she saying "Winter Wonderland" which (obviously) means that she wants to see projects featuring snow and winter weather.

This is what I did.....

Can't really get more wintry than snowpeople and snowflakes, I'm thinking.  I used a digi from DigiStamp Boutique.  I absolutely love how there's a snowman, a snowwoman, two snowboys and one snowgirl.....that's our family, right there!  Except, we're not made of snow, I guess.  And I don't think I could ever get the males in my house to wear top hats....or scarves....or sparkly buttons.  But, I'm pretty sure my nose is to scale, so there's that.

Why not give our challenge a go this week and head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up?  And, while you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.

Anything Goes @ Tiddly Inks

This month at

we've got an easy one for you....it's Anything Goes. So, all you gotta do is use a Tiddly Inks image and other than that, it's whatevs!

How's 2018 starting off for you, my friends? For me, *grimace*. My internet isn't working properly (which makes me bat-s$%t crazy) and I'm starting to get a cold.  So, this is gonna be a quick post so I can crawl off somewhere and be whiny.

Here's my card....

I used one of the newest digis, Snow Day....and he comes with a free snowman (which I didn't use). Isn't he a cutie. I love how bundled up he is.

Why not grab a Tiddly Inks image, and join us for the challenge?  And be sure to  check out the fabulousness the DT has come up with.
