Krafty! @ Little Red Wagon

Oh! Before we get started you need to make sure your mind-voice is pronouncing "Krafty!" in the right manner. It's to be said the same inflection and enthusiasm as the Seven Dwarves do when they sing "Heigh- Ho" before off to work they go.  And, don't forget about the seven part harmony.  Or, if that's too cheerful for ya, feel free to say it Janet Jackson-style from the song "Nasty".   (Oh, I guess you should say, Miss Krafty, you know, if you're nasty.  *Please pause for a moment of silence in remembrance of the 80s.*)

This week at

it's my turn to pick the challenge and I wanna see kraft paper! My local scrapbook store just started carrying a new kind of kraft cardstock and I just loooooooooves it. It's actually double sided, which I didn't even realize until it was pointed out to me. Before I knew that I was referring to it as, "The Beautifully Rustic and Fantastical Kraft Paper That Has Made Me Incredibly Disappointed In All the Other Kraft Paper I Have For Not Trying Hard Enough" and the wrong side. Here, let me show you it in all its glory.....

Digi is Snowman Sid from Tiddly Inks.  Dotted some Mister Huey's mist on there for the snowflakes.  And that was about it.

So, why not get your craft on with some kraft and then you head on over to Little Red Wagon and enter the challenge. And, while you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.

Black Cat @ Tiddly Inks

For the next two weeks at

the challenge is "Black Cat" which means we want to see your Halloween creations featuring a black cat.

This is what I did.....

I combined Cast A Spell with a cat from Set of Kittys.  Sentiment was a freebie from Kenny K.

Why not add a little feline flavour to your Halloween creation and then head on over to Tiddly Inks to enter the challenge? And be sure to also check out the fabulousness the DT has come up with.

OMG, THE HORROR!!

So, I made a card. And it was one of those cards that I was actually quite pleased with when I was finished. And, the fact that the card was a birthday card for a crafty friend of mine and I was actually quite pleased with it made me more pleased. So pleased it fact that I had to resist the urge to post the card right away, just in case said crafty friend reads my blog. So, I waited until CF had received the card before I decided to post it.

Today I had a bit of time so I thought I'd just go right on ahead and post the card. And enter into some challenges, of course. I looked up the photo of the card, to remind myself of what challenges I had had in mind when I made it.....and that was when it hit me.

I HAD MADE A SPELLING MISTAKE ON THE CARD. And, not only had I made a spelling mistake on the card, I misspelled the word INTELLIGENCE. ('Coz the universe loves to have little giggling fits at my expense.) Well, I was mortified! I could literally feel my temperature start to rise and my cheeks turn red as I sat there and stared at the screen. And, in that instant, I started going through these ridiculous scenarios in my head about how I could possibly remedy the situation secretly, so that if CF ever looked at the card again she'd be all like, "Wait a minute.....I thought she'd spelled intelligence wrong. Hmmm....but there it is, correct. I must have been mistaken."

Yes, as I said, ridiculous. But that gives you an idea about how embarrassed I was over the whole thing. I contacted my CF to apologize, and she was lovely about the whole issue, of course. I promised her the next time I saw her it would be with a new panel for the card that corrected the misspelled word and begged her to fix it for me (or at least tell me she fixed it) so I could be at ease.

Then I went to my daughter's hockey game.

When I got back, and went to check my email, I saw the card still up on the screen. I was about to close it, as there was no way I was going to announce my awful mistake to the world, but the card made me pause. I still liked it, even with that misspelled word. Even though it said intellegence. (Which, I'll admit when I tilted my head a certain way appeared to have multiple arrows made out of bright lights hovering over it flashing madly while pointing at the mistake.) So, I decided I would go ahead and post it after all.

Then I went to my son's hockey game.

But, now I'm back, and I haven't changed my mind. So, finally, here it is, glaringly obvious mistake and all.....

You know, in hindsight, I remember when I made the card there was a little nudging feeling I got that something was off.  Never did put my finger on it, obviously.  But, now I'm guessing there was a little piece of my subconscious that is now dead because I didn't listen to it.  It can just image that lengths it went to too.  "Hey, that's spelled wrong.  Yo, you spelled intelligence wrong.  Wrong.  Don't make a layer for it, it's spelled wrong.  What are you doing?  It's spelled wrong!  Don't stick that down!  Don't you dare stick that on the card!  OMG, you put that spelling mistake on the card.  What's wrong with you?  It's okay, it's okay.  Just take it off.  Don't you put that in an envelope!  DON'T YOU DARE PUT THAT IN AN ENVELOPE!  GET THAT STAMP AWAY FROM THAT ENVELOPE!  YOU CAN'T LET ANYONE SEE WHAT YOU HAVE DONE!  NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooo"  *gasp* thunk.

And now I've shown the world.  Well, my itsy bitsy corner of it anyways.

Fabby Friday @ Tiddly Inks...and a new release!

Happy Friday, all. And it's a particularly happy day as not only is it Friday, but there's another new release at Tiddly Inks - woo hoo!

There's two new fall stamps coming at you. And both are oh so cute. I decided to colour up Wryn's Leaves and this is what I did.....

Not overly thrilled with this photo. The colours lost a lot of vibrancy because I had to brighten it so much.  In fact, I haven't been overly thrilled with most of my photos as of late. It's weird, but the way I take my photos it's better if it's not a sunny day. It can't be really gloomy either, of course, but if it's sunny, I have issues. I actually set about building a cheap, cardboard box lightbox today to try to remedy the situation. But it turns out that I don't have any white tissue paper. Or suitable lights. So really, all I have right now is a cardboard box with large squares cut out of the sides and top.  I'll have to hide it for now or I'm sure it will get commandeered to be a Barbie house or puppet stage or hat for the dog or something like that otherwise.

If you want to see more Fabby Friday makes, and makes using the other new release as well as more of this one, head on over to the challenge site and check 'em out. You won't be disappointed!

Oh Baby! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Joanne's turn to pick the challenge and she's going with "Oh Baby!" which means she wants to see cards or projects for or about babies.

This is what I did....

Such a sweet, fuzzy ducky, eh? This is a digi I've had for absolutely ages, from when I first started crafting, and unfortunately, I didn't know enough at the time to think to add the artist to file names so I don't know whose work this is. If anyone knows, please do leave me a comment.

So, why not whip something up and then you head on over to Little Red Wagon and enter the challenge. And, while you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.

This is what I did.....

Non-Traditional Halloween Colours @ Tiddly Inks

For the next two weeks at

the challenge is to use non-traditional Halloween colours (so no orange and black) and make a Halloween card.

I had to think on this a bit. Then I decided I would not only go with non-traditional colours, I would go with a not-intended-for-Halloween image as well. So, this is what I did....

I used Monstrous Party, printed off the image super big and cropped it.  I also removed the balloon that the purple guy was holding.  Makes it kinda look like he's punching the green dude, but they're monsters after all, so some mischief is to be expected.  That spider there is actually a button.  Cool, eh?

Why not get all spooky or cutesy-spooky and then head on over to Tiddly Inks to enter the challenge? And be sure to also check out the fabulousness the DT has come up with.

Fabby Friday @ Tiddly Inks

Time for another Fabby Friday at Tiddly Inks! I decided to go with a Christmas card this time. And not only is it a Christmas card.....

.....it's a shaker card too! And not only is it a shaker card....it's an extremely staticy shaker card so, no matter how many times I flicked the acetate before I took the photo, that glitter did not move.  Oh well, that super cute penguin deserves to look fancy.

Speaking of that penguin, it's a part of the Inky Critters set.  You get four different images, and an image of all four of the critters together.  Cool, eh?

Nice to get a jump on my Christmas card stash.  Golly, I can't really type that, can I seeing as it's October now and so saying "jump" isn't really accurate.  Though it is kinda a jump for me though.  I have a tendency to make four or five Christmas cards before December and then once December 1st comes I frantically try to make dozens of them before the 25th.  At least it's more of a "don't have any cardmaking time" rather than a "Hmmmmm....it's Novemeber 2nd, I should probably work on next year's Halloween cards" type of thing so I don't have to feel guilty about it.

If you want to see more Fabby Friday makes head on over to the challenge site and check 'em out.  You won't be disappointed!

Giving Thanks @ Little Red Wagon

Subtitled: Just Call Me Latey McLaterall

This week at

it's Tracy's turn to pick the challenge and she went with Giving Thanks which means that she would like to see a Thanksgiving or thank you card or project.

Now, as you all know, Little Red Wagon challenges start on Wednesdays. But today isn't Wednesday, is it? Nope, today is Thursday. Hence the subtitle. In my defense, I did start making a card for this challenge on Saturday but it was one of those times it just wouldn't come together, no matter how hard I tried. And on World Card Making Day too! (Don't think I didn't give my mojo the what-for for pulling that on me on a cardmaker's sacred day.)

After that life got in the way, I was slammed at work earlier this week, etc. etc. etc. so when Wednesday morning rolled around and I still didn't have something done, much less even started, I came to a decision. I decided that if I was going to be late, I was going to darn well be good and late. And if I was good and late, I most certainly was going to have a good reason for being good and late.

And, lo and behold, I'm actually pleased with how this turned out. So, hopefully, you like it too. Well, at least I hope you'll like it enough to excuse me for being late.

Here it is......

And a few closeups....

Ah, I do so love my Silhouette. Just as long as my phone doesn't have to get involved in the process. (For PixScan purposes in case your wondering what on earth that last sentence means.)

So, all you Canadians out there, before you get too deep into eating or preparing turkey, stuffing and pumpkin layer cake with cream cheese icing sprinkled with walnuts, why not make something out of paper for Thanksgiving? Or, you could maybe even make a thank you card accompanied by a piece of pumpkin layer cake with cream cheese icing sprinkled with walnuts to be delivered to the person who sent you the recipe for said pumpkin cake.  That would be mighty neighbourly, don't you think? And then you could head on over to Little Red Wagon and enter the challenge. And, while you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.

Surprise Blog Hop for Melissa

(Pssst.....if you want to see the new release images from Tiddly Inks just scroll down.)

We are here today to celebrate the soon to come birth of Brennan, whose mom is our dear fellow team member, Melissa. Melissa has been on the Tiddly Inks team since close to the beginning and although she has had to take some time off to deliver Brennan, we want her to know she is missed and that we are excited Brennan will be here soon. Please join us in celebrating this happy occasion by hopping along...or even better, by linking your own card to say hi to Melissa.

My card is shown below but if you want to see some more delightful cards, all the details for the blog hop can be found on Tiddly Inks Challenge blog and there is a LINKY tool for you to add your card there as well. We kept this blog hop simple....all the links will open in a new window from Christy's blog.

And here's my card.....

I used The Conductor. Thought I'd go with something a little different.

So, come on over to the Tiddly Ink Challenge blog to celebrate this upcoming happy birth and please join in with your own card. There will be a random winner selected from those who link their own card.

New Release @ Tiddly Inks

It's a fabulous Tuesday, dear Readers! Why, you ask? Well, because there's another new release at Tiddly Inks! And these digis are super duper cute.

First up there's Winterlights Wishes - Wryn.....

Isn't this image just sweet! I did the background with gelatos and used a star stencil and a baby wipe to remove the colours for the stars.  Nothing all that fancy or fandangled, I'll admit, being an (almost) digi only user I don't have much in the way of inks.  I've also used my Wink of Stella pen and went over the snow to give it that subtle sparkle, which doesn't show up in the photo, of course.  (Sidebar:  Ever create something that you're happy with for the most part and then you see what other crafters have done and kinda feel like you were at the preschool table colouring with a crayon in each fist and glue stuck in your hair?  That's pretty much how I felt when I saw what my teamies did with this image.  Make sure you check theirs out!)

Next there's Christmas Cutie - Emma

She's just spreading Christmas cheer, and presents, everywhere!

And finally, something with a springtime feel for those who are heading into that season.....(or for those of us who just love duckies....)....it's Ducky Dance - Wryn!

I coloured her up so look like my daughter....though she'd be wanting a purple coat and rubber boots instead of pink. Sorry, sweetie, designer paper manufacturers seem to hate the colour purple! I would have liked to add Glossy Accents to the boots but I find that GA and Prismacolor pencils don't play very well with each other. (Maybe they should spend some time in preschool together.) So I settled for adding raindrops instead. There is Wink of Stella glitter on her boots and umbrella.  (Loooooove that stuff.)

If you want to see more, head on over to the Tiddly Inks blog to see what the rest of the DT did.  Or, head straight to the store to snap up these cuties for yourself!

In Stitches @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Jayne's turn to host and she wants to see stitching, real or faux! Now, awhile back I would have absolutely groaned over this challenge but since I discovered SSTSTNOINSIACOP (sloppy sewing for short) I've been enjoying stitching on my projects.

This is what I did this time 'round.....

Now, I'm not exactly setting the best DT example here because I ended up covering up a lot of my sewing.  But you can see it peeking out here and there so it counts!

You can most likely be more stitchy than I so why not pull out that needle and thread (or gel pen) and then you can head on over to Little Red Wagon and enter the challenge?  And be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.
