Jeudi Journal - All That Glitters

Wendy's choice again and this time it was "All That Glitters" and the colours to use were Blue and Gold.  I chose to use several Amsterdam Paints in shades of Blue - viz: turquoise blue, sky blue light, brilliant blue, primary cyan and ultramarine.  I decided to put some purple with it and as there were only two shades of violet I had to use those: permanent blue violet and permanent red violet.  Not that you can see much of the violets as I covered most of them up with my blues.

This was because I had some figures from a previous page glued on the underside of the page I was working on and my brayer would not give me good coverage.  It wasn't until the umpteenth time I realised what was happening - I had even put a cutting board underneath to try to get even coverage.

NOW, your eyes are not deceiving you, you have not gone cross-eyed or anything - no, the figure had to go on the page diagonally to be able to fit on - a problem with large figures and a square journal.  I only had this head in large size so had to use it.  Mind you I quite like it like this - it's quirky.

For my gold I decided to do a Teesha Moore type border but instead of cutting out shapes from a magazine I used Gold Mirri Card, cut into small pieces and dry embossed.    The figure was one of Dylusion's and I added some Silver hair, purple shiny eyebrows and eyelashes.  Then I went wrong with the quote and put "All that Glitters is not Gold" and hastily added the word "alone" and then a bit more as it did not make sense to me just sat there.  Good job the writing was small.  It was most difficult to write on the brayered background with so many layers of paint on.  Hope my pen is ok.

Only got home late Tuesday so this was a scheduled post done before I left for Amsterdam as I knew, with Lorraine staying until Wednesday, I would not get around to it otherwise.  Hope next week I don't have to rush like I did with the previous two.

Toodle Pip!
