WOYWW 306

First of all apologies to art-a-day and scrappystickyinkymess for not posting on their blogs.  And to anyone with a Wordpress blog.  I faithfully write down my username and my password for these blogs but never can I get in.  I have always had endless problems with Wordpress so my apologies - will try to fix once more and then abandon all hope.

Apologies over - now to today's business.

This is a belated birthday card I made for Lynne H.  I had received a card from Helen the other week for my birthday and I just loved her background.  So I wrote to her and asked her how she had done it - this is my attempt at something similar.

I have just sent another two similar ones, and if you look on my desk you will see there is yet another background waiting to be used on yet another card.  I just have so many birthday cards to get ready that I am sure it will be used before long.

can you see it at the back?

On the left is my folder which contains my stencils and top of that is my newest stencil and my journal from the other week when I did a class with Dyan Reaveley.  I just cannot get enough of those backgrounds done for the journal - I love them.  Trouble is other things keep encroaching on my time.

Covered up is a DT piece for Artful Times, a challenge blog which I have been involved in the running of for quite some time now.  It was the birth-child of Sam, myself and Von and now I have Wendy helping me with it but we are closing it down shortly.  I have been trying to get the last few challenges done and scheduled for when I go away next week.  That and all the medical appointments in readiness for my short holiday means my journalling time is cut down.  Boo Hoo!

Anyway, you didn't come here to hear me whinge and moan - no, you came for scintillating conversation and motivation.  Sorry - maybe next week!  If you are still here I suppose you are itching to move on and see other blogs so I'll see you over at the stamping ground and we can journey together.

Well, I will play catch up as I am out at the park with Chloe and her mummy - yes, we are feeding the ducks and swans (but not bread I hasten to add).  See you!

Hi Neet. What a pretty card. Sometimes life just gets in the way of doing all we want to do but not to worry....focus on yourself a bit and be sure your health comes first. Hope you have a great week.

Hi Neet,

Love that card and I can see why it is a winner the background is so interesting, I love it. Can you by any chance feed that yellow card through the computer screen so I can use it, I really do need it now LOL Sorry to hear you are shutting down the Artful Times Challenge it really is a great way to share items with others. I am just unable to contribute on a regular basis, what time I do get spare is sucked up by the urgently needed or the desperate to actually do much for myself, days like today are a real luxury and I need more of them. Wordpress is a big pain and I am hearing you too, it is frustrating for sure. I hope you have a wonderful time with the family.

Hugs Eliza & Yoda

Hi there Neet,
The card is very pretty. I'm sure Lynne H will love it. I took a class with Dyan when she was in Santa Fe, NM a while back. It was interesting and fast paced, to say the least.

I hope your "short holiday" is really a holiday and you are getting shots? I need to go visit Flat Susan to see if I've missed any of her adventures!!

Thanks for visiting me already!
Happy WOYWW
Peace, Kay (4)

I have the same issues with Wordpress, thought it was just me! Your card is beautiful, I love the background and the gorgeous flower (is that a really old Ellison die by any chance, if so it was the first I ever bought).

So sorry to hear about Artful Times but hopefully it will give you a bit more time to spend on crafting... Hugs, Anne xx

What a beautiful card, Neet.

Thank you for your really lovely comment on my blog. It took me a few days to get the computer up and running again after my return home, and it was so lovely having my friend to stay! I am doing pretty well all things considered - I still feel weak as a kitten and tire very rapidly, so I am resting a lot. I am experiencing skin problems around the stoma but the stoma nurse has seen it and given me some stuff to help - it's a pest and I hope it clears up soon - apparently a common problem and part of the initial learning curve. I have had my histology results which are unfortunately not as good as I had hoped - the cancer was very aggressive and had spread throughout the bowel wall and into one lymph node. Although they took all that away, I will have to have some chemotherapy, and have my first oncology appointment on 5th May when options will be discussed. I am hoping that it will be a single course of oral chemo and that it won't make me feel too poorly as I really feel I've been through quite enough recently! However, looking on the bright side, it's a small price to pay for survival, isn't it.

beautiful card! I love your desk. I wish we lived closer and I could make it to annual crop/ birthday party bash! I haven't been doing a lot of journaling recently do to other stuff but plan on doing more. I have recently bought some Dylusions stamps and others and they need to get inky. Thanks for stopping by my desk earlier. I always enjoy this group. Vickie#8
