On the Beach!

Phew! This week's Penny Black Saturday Challenge of 'On the beach' was a toughie...well...it wouldn't have been if I'd had a suitable image...but I didn't...so it involved a little bit of adaptation, and even some drawing! After a rootle through my image box, I decided to use the dog from 'Beehave!', but I cut him out, as the flowers and bee weren't really appropriate for the beach. I thought he looked like he could be sunbathing, so I drew a beach scene to place him on. The stripey paper is from the 'Offbeat' pad by BasicGrey...which I thought looked like deckchair fabric...and the sentiment stamp is from the 'Sending Sunshine' set by Simon Says Stamp.

Just Cute Bears - Decoupage

Our challenge for you this week on Just Cute Bears is:

'Decoupage'

Eeeeek....totally not my thing! So...I decided to 'decoupage' a stamped image...this one is one of my favourite bears...'Boo Boo Bear' (by Whipper Snapper). The papers are from the 'Ooh La La (for Her)' collection by My Mind's Eye, the flowers are from Poppicrafts, and the ribbon, brads and card candy are from my stash.

Here's a close-up of the image....just to show that I really did 'decoupage' it!:

I'm also going to enter this card into the a couple of other challenges:

Just Cute Bears - Here Comes Summer

Our theme for you this week at the Just Cute Bears Challenge is:

'Here Comes Summer'

For my card, I've used an adorable Lili of the Valley bear called 'Deckchair Dreaming'...well...isn't that how most of us would hope to spend the summer? The paper is from the 'Cupcakes' pad by BasicGrey...and, although I don't like icecream, I'm assured it's a most enjoyable treat on a hot summer's day! lol I used my 'Forest Branches' Cuttlebug folder on Core'dinations 'Whitewash' card, then sanded over the raised areas to reveal the blue core before distressing all the edges. The sentiment is a Tim Holtz adage ticket, the ribbon is from Poppicrafts, and the letters were cut using the Cuttlebug 'Olivia' alphabet.

I followed the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday for my card, and am also entering it into the Crafty Catz 'Embossing' and Totally Papercrafts 'Animal Magic' challenges.
Make sure you stop by and check out the fabulous creations by the rest of the Just Cute Bears design team.

Spring Bunny with Daffodils

I've used another of the adorable Lili of the Valley images sent to me by my lovely friend Pauline...this one is called 'Spring Bunny with Daffodils'...just perfect for the Totally Papercrafts 'Spring' challenge. I followed the sketch from the Lili of the Valley Challenge, and used papers by Pink Paislee (from the '365 Degrees') pad. The flowers are a mixture of Poppicrafts and Hobbycraft, and the sentiment stamp is from the 'Anytime Messages' by Hero Arts. I'm also going to enter this card into Stamp with Fun's 'Animals' challenge, and A Spoon Full of Sugar's 'Happy Birthday' challenge.

Embrace

This card uses the same papers as one of the cards I uploaded yesterday...although they were made a week apart. I've used the sketch from the Papertake Weekly Challenge, and the colour combination of 'Lilac, Grey & White' from Colour Create. The image is 'Embrace' by Penny Black, and the papers are all from the '29th Street Market' collection by My Mind's Eye. The sentiment stamp is from the 'Cupcakes' set by Hero Arts, I used my Cuttlebug 'D'Vine Swirls' folder for the embossing, and distressed all of the edges...for the Totally Papercrafts 'Distressing' challenge.

Cheese Cake!

I had a rather productive afternoon yesterday...and made 7 cards...don't worry, I'm not going to show you them all at once...although 4 were very simple...and identical in design...for a charity card stall next month. This one combines the sketch from Sketchy Colours, the 'Lets Go Digital' theme of Totally Papercrafts, and the 'Break out the Buttons' theme of Our Creative Corner. The image is a digi stamp by Hambo called 'Mouse Chef', and the papers are all from the 'Ooh La La (for Him)' collection by My Mind's Eye, as is the little tag that I stamped the sentiment (by Studio G) on. The buttons, brads and ribbon are all from Poppicrafts.

Wee and Stocking

Katharina is having a Guest Design Team Call for Whiff of Joy stamps...so I thought I'd have a go, and make a card using the recipe of '1 cardstock, 2 design papers, 1 button, 1 ribbon'. I thought I'd combine it with the current Whiff of Joy Challenge...which is to make an easel card. I used the sketch from Totally Papercrafts for the layout. I've used 'Wee with Stocking' to make a Christmas card with papers by Sandylion. The snowflakes were cut using Cuttlebug dies, and they've been coated with Glamour Dust....although it doesn't show up very well in the photo. The sentiment stamp is by Paper Makeup, and the ribbon and button are from Poppicrafts.

I'll be back on Wednesday with another Christmas card...as it will be time for the next ABC Christmas Challenge. There's still time for you to get your entries in for the current challenge...'F is for Frosty'...if you haven't already done so, to be in with a chance of winning the $15 shopping spree at Simon Says Stamp!

Silly Birds!

I won this fab digi stamp a couple of months ago...but this is the first time I've used it...it's called 'Silly Birds with Hats' from Hambo Stamps. I've made this card for the Dare U 2 Digi Stamp 'No Patterned Paper' challenge...and if you know me...you'll know that this really was a challenge! lol
Although saying that...I've got three more cards to show you this week that don't use any patterned papers either...I guess they must be like buses! lol
As the birds have wings...I'm also going to enter this into the Totally Papercrafts 'Things with wings' challenge.
I followed the sketch from Create4Fun...rotating it to fit my image.
I used my Cuttlebug 'Happy Birthday', 'Swiss Dots' and 'Spots & Dots' folders to emboss the papers, lightly sanding the surface to reveal the detail.

I didn't add any extra embellishments as I think this card would be suitable for a boy's birthday...so with that in mind...I'm also entering it into the following challenges:

My Time to Craft - 'Kids Cards'
Crazy4Challenges - 'Men'
Creative Inspirations - 'Male'
