Leafy Greens

I have a simple one layer card for this week's Less is More Challenge to share today, where the theme is 'Leaves'. I used stamps from the 'Spring Flowers' set by Honey Doo Crafts, using watercolour pencils to add some colour, and a sentiment from a set that was a magazine freebie.

Watercolour Flowers

Today's card features my favourite colour...teal/turquoise blue...or rather 'Peacock Feathers' Distress Ink...with just a hint of 'Mermaid Lagoon'. I started by stamping flowers from the 'Spring Flowers' set by Honey Doo Crafts in Versamark Ink, then heat embossed them in white. I started with the larger flowers...then masked them before adding the slightly smaller ones in between to create a ring. I then added the sentiment (from the 'Fabulous Birthday' set by Hero Arts) in the centre..also heat embossing it so that I could watercolour over the top without risking it smudging. I gave a light wash of the 'Peacock Feather' over the whole card, then used it to colour the flowers...adding a little'Mermaid Lagoon' to their centres. Before mounting th panel on to my card, I inked around the edges with a little more 'Pracock Feathers' for more definition.

This card is for my Nan's birthday later this month...I stamped some simple gift wrap so that her present would match:

Peacock Flowers

I have a simple one layer card inspired by this week's Less is More's 'Peacock Feathers' colour challenge. I stamped some flowers from the 'Spring Flowers' set by Honey Doo Crafts just off the edge of one side of my card base, then watercoloured them using Distress Inks (Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon, Seedless Preserves, Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch, Wild Honey & Spiced Marmalade). The sentiment stamp is from the 'Fabulous Birthday' set by Hero Arts.

Inky Flowers

I have a couple of inky cards to share today, using a stamp set from Honey Doo Crafts called 'Spring Flowers'.

I stamped the images using Versamark Ink, then heat embossed them in white, before blending Distress Inks over the top. On the card with the leaves, I used Lucky Clover, Cracked Pistachio & Mermaid Lagoon:

And on the card with the flowers, I used Wilted Violet, Seedless Preserves & Picked Raspberry:

On both cards, I matted the panels on to some silver mirror card, and added a sentiment (from the 'Big Messages' set by Paula Pascual) stamped on to a banner shape.

Spring Flowers

I have a simple one layer card to share today...using a new set of stamps that I picked up from the Craft Barn with a prize I won over at Winter Wonderland a little while ago called 'Spring Flowers' by Honey Doo Crafts. I stamped two different sizes of the flower stamps over the top part of my card, then coloured them in shades of pink and purple using watercolour pencils. I added some highlights on the petals with a white gel pen. The sentiment stamp is from the 'Fabulous Birthday' set by Hero Arts.
