Haunted House Treat Bag

I have another Halloween treat bag to share today, featuring one of the critters from the 'Spooky' set by Penny Black. I stamped him on to watercolour paper, coloured him using watercolour pencils, thencarefully cut him out. I made an embossed background using embossing folders and Core'dinations card. The haunted house one is by Cuttlebug (I picked it up in a charity shop a couple of months ago) and the 'Spider Web' one is by Tim Holtz for Sizzix. I sanded over the raised areas to reveal the core, then distressed the edge a little, before layering it all up, and adding the kitty on top.

Opulent Baubles

I have another couple of Christmas cards to share today...made using a new (to me) embossing folder by Crafter's Companion called 'Opulent Baubles' It's designed for use in the Gemini, but with some a lot of effort, I managed to figure out how to get it to work in my Cuttlebug. It required replacing the bottom B plate witha shim of four pieces of cardboard, but it worked, and despite some alarming creaking, my Cuttlebug didn't explode! Having figured it out, I used it on two different types of cardstock...firstly a piece of teal Core'dinations card, distressing the edges lightly, and sanding over the raised parts to reveal the design. I added a sentiment (using a stamp from the Woodware 'Festive Circle' set) embossed in metallic silver, then matted the embossed panel on to blue glitter card before adding it to my card blank.

On the second card, I embossed a piece of matte gold card...stamping and embossing the same sentiment in black (to stop it smudging)...and matting it on to red card.

Spooky Treat Boxes

I have some more Halloween treat boxes to share today...to match this one that I made  couple of weeks ago.

Once again, I used my We R Memory Keepers punch board and some Core'dinations 'Black Magic' card. I used a 12x12 piece of card, and made the largest size of box (a 4x4 cube). I sanded the edges of the card to reveal the coloured core (they're all different)...then added some pieces of the same card embossed with a selection of 'spooky' embossing folders...I scuffed up the edges a little and then sanded over the raised surface to reveal the coloured core. I added a little tag made out of more of the same card...decorated each one with a different Penny Black image (from the 'Be Very Scared' & 'Spooky' sets) and tied them to the boxes using a variety of co-ordinating twine.

Here are some photos of each of the boxes...fist the 'white' one:

And...the embossing on the back:

Winter Treescape

Another Christmas card from me today...this time using some dies and snippets of Core'dinations card...it's from one of the Tim Holtz packs, and has a 'shattered' effect on the surface. I used one of my circle Nesties to cut the...er...circles (!) then Hero arts dies for the trees, and Lawn Fawn 'Stitched Hillside' border dies for the snow drifts. I embossed the background using my Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' folder to look like falling snow. To add a bit of definition, I sanded the edges, and over the raised embossing to reveal the kraft core. The sentiment stamp is from the 'Scribbly Christmas' set by Tim Holtz for Stampers Anonymous.

Pile It On! Challenge - Use Red & Green

We have another fun Pile It On! Challenge starting today...the theme is:

'Use Red & Green'

Our sponsor this week is Dr Digi's House of Stamps:
Prize - 2 Digi's of the Winner's Choice!

Although it's not one I use very often, the red and green colour combination screamed 'Christmas' at me...so I picked a cute Penny Black image called 'Wishes for Kisses' to use on my card. The papers are a mixture of My Mind's Eye (the reds - 'Winter Wonderland' and 'Bright') and a magazine freebie set (the green). I distressed the edges a little, then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen. I cut some snowflakes from some Core'dinations glitter card using Cuttlebug and Marianne Designs dies...adding adhesive gems to their centres. For more sparkle and bling, I added some Stickles glitter glue to the 'snowy' ground, and some adhesive pearls. The sentiment is from the 'Scribbly Christmas' set by Tim Holtz for Stampers Anonymous.

Here are the challenges I've piled on:

Present Pile

I have a Christmas card to share today...I hand't made one in a few weeks, so had a little burst of Christmas crafting yesterday and got another three made. This one uses one of my favourite James the Bear stamps...'Present Pile'...which I coloured using watercolour pencils. I kept the card really simple...trying to get some more 'masculine' cards done...although there are quite a lot of layers! I used my old faithful Cuttlebug 'Snowflakes' folder for the embossing on some Core'dinations card...sanding over the top, and tearing along the bottom edge to reveal the core. I simply doodled a couple of borders, and added a Lili of the Valley sentiment.

Oldie but a Goodie Challenge - Bingo!

It's time for a new Oldie but a Goodie Challenge, and this fortnight the theme is:

 'Bingo!'
Pick a vertical, horizontal or diagonal line, and use all of the items in that line on your project.

We are sponsored for this challenge by Robyn's Fetish:

The prize is 5 digital products of the winner's choice from the Robyn's Fetish store.

I chose to use the bottom line (Embossing - Glitter - Die Cuts) and made a couple of simple Christmas cards. The reindeer are from the 'Reindeer' stamp and die set by Hero Arts & Sizzix...I stamped the reindeer on to kraft card, then gave them coloured jumpers by stamping them again on to white card using Distress Inks ('Chipped Saphire' and 'Fired Brick'), cutting them out and laying them over the top. For the background, I embossed some light blue card using my old faithful Cuttlebug 'Snowflakes' folder, and added a torn piece of white Core'dinations glitter card for the 'snow'. The sentiment stamp is from a Lili of the Valley set.

Mr Fixit!

I must have been a good girl this year....Father Christmas brought me quite a few lovely new craft goodies ;0) I had a little play with some of them yesterday, and made a couple of cards...the one I'm showing you today, uses a Lili of the Valley stamp called 'Mr Fixit' that was a gift from my lovely crafty friend Samantha - thank you! I coloured him using watercolour pencils, to match the blue/green colours of Distress Core'dinations card I used for the background. I embossed the strips of card using my Cuttlebug 'Spots & Dots' and 'Diamond Plate', and Sizzix/BasicGrey 'Plaid' folders...sanding over the surface to reveal the lighter core. I added some Craftwork Cards Card Candi, and a sentiment (from the 'Anytime Messages' set by Hero Arts).

Garden Bouquet

I had a little break yesterday from making Christmas and Hallowe'en cards to make a birthday card for my Aunt. I started by inking a white piece of card with 'Old Paper' Distress Ink...then stamping a Hero Arts music background stamp in Old Paper over the top...I wiped some of the ink off before stamping to create a distressed effect. I then used the watercolour technique to stamp the Hero Arts 'Garden Bouquet' over the top in 'Dusty Concord' and 'Forest Moss' Distress Inks. I embossed the purple Core'dinations card using my Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' folder...then sanded over the dots a little. The sentiment stamp is from the 'Cupcakes' set (also by Hero Arts), the lace is from Hobbycraft, and the pearls are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

CAS Cut-out Christmas

More Christmas cards for you today...these ones were super quick to make...and make use of the 'negative' part of a die cut layered over some 'Swiss Dots' embossed and sanded Core'dinations card.

On the first card, I used the tree dies from the 'Reindeer' stamp and die set by Hero Arts & Sizzix, and a sentiment from the 'Celebrate Everyday' set by Hero Arts:

On the second card, I used my Cuttlebug 'Ice Crystal' die and a sentiment from the 'Joy to the World' set by Penny Black. On both cards the white card on top is popped up on 3D foam pads...which I think you can just about tell in the photo below:
