Caught Hangin Around!

Hey! Here we are with a Christmas card, yep! I have made a few of these this summer in anticipation of getting some done ahead of time. Have you started any? This little guy is a High Hopes stamp that I have not used in so long. The DSP is from basic grey (figgy pudding). I colored the image with my copic markers and then distressed the edges with a tool and ink. That is the scoop- have a great day!
Challenges:
High Hopes: use favorite embellishments (ribbon/flowers)

Waitin on Santa

Good Morning!

Today's card I am showing you is for the KLSNS Snowflake Challenge as well as the Friday Sketcher Challenge. This image is a High Hopes image and I got it this last year and I just love it. I have 2 cats and I have on occasion found them in the tree peering out at me. I can't say they've hung on the branch like that but they are a little heavy for that. But lets say we do weight the tree down because of them.

I colored the image with my copic markers and then around the edges I just used a sponge to soften the stark white cardstock. I have gotten so I have been doing this alot and the air compressor works well for this too! I have also used the MS ornament punch and the branch punch on this card.

Just wanted to remind you that you can join the KLSNS Snowflake challenge and win a gift certificate and a stamp from Kelly so come on over and check it out. Plus you can use code NOV5 and get $5 off orders of $30 or more. And then of course, she is carrying the High Hopes now too.

I hope you all have a blessed Sunday!

Aww- Nuts!

Good Morning to you all! Today's card I made for the Friday Sketch Challenge Blog. When I first saw it I was overwhelmed with it, I actually thought I would skip it but when I pulled out this image and the DSP I thought it just might work. I am actually really liking the results. It is a 5 1/2 x 51/2 card though and I had stopped making so many of them due to my customers prefer to purchase the normal size card but he is a BIG elephant. This is a High Hopes image and the sentiments are also from HH. Tab over at 7kids has also started carrying a very large stock of high hopes and if she doesn't have one that you want- send her an email and she will look into it.

Take care and have a great day!

Oh my, I am late! I had done this card as soon as Kelly sent me this stamp and what was I thinking? I totally forgot to load it- real life sometimes just gets into my way! So here it is, this is one of the new High Hopes that Kelly has in the store: Clarabelle and Riley.
The paper is from the Basic Grey Indian Summer pack- aren't they nice colors for the fall? I love of course that they added those pinks in there too!
So I hope that we will see you participating in the October Challenge because Kelly is so generous offering ups sweet prizes! Also free shipping for another week on orders over $30. Check out all the new High Hopes remembering that these are only available through a couple stores anymore, High Hopes is not selling them directly to the consumers and Kelly was lucky to be able to obtain them.
And have a Blessed Week!

Can you tell I am in the mood to make some holiday cards and gift cards? This top one could easily be used as a place setting card. It is only about 2.5 inches tall but a gift card could be attached to the inside with a little sticky. I have a little holiday wish stamped on the inside top so I can use it either way! Or if you were having company and wanted to label the holiday dishes, these little cards could sit in front of the dishes........ oh I am hosting this year and I think that I just might do that!
This one is a holiday gift card holder. I wanted to make something for my niece as I almost always purchase her a card to her favorite store. This will fit into a regular sized envelope making it easy to mail as well without being too bulky.
I hope you get some ideas with these two cards!

A wonderful Gift

Happy Saturday and it is a beautiful one here in Michigan- holding out a little longer. The leaves are just starting to turn and the weather is cooler, crisper already. But the sun is shining. But I will move on to today's card. I made this following the Friday Sketchers sketch for this week. My image is a High Hopes and did you know that you will be able to get these over at 7kidscollegefund? Tab is taking orders- as she is kindly focusing on what you, the customer, wants her to carry. So- if you love these cute little stamps and you can't get them from high hopes anymore- you will want to stop over at 7kids.

As you can see- I put a little pocket on the inside to hide a little prize and this is what the Cute Card Thursday challenge was- this will make a sweet little gift for a little boy!
Have a great day! Heidi

Springtime Thoughts

Oh my- hello ladies, I hope all is well with you. My card for today is made with hopes of Spring coming soon- all over, not just those of you in the South and West coasts. It is still so darned cold here in Michigan.

The card is actually a tent card- it still measures the standard 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 but the actual base is smaller and the image extends beyond the base. The image is a CC design from the Hunny Bunny set that I just got from Kelly over at KLStampinNScrapping, isn't he the cutest? I masked it with the High Hopes flower background as well. The base is SU barely banana and the DSP is from K&Co paper pack that I got at Micheal's after Christmas. The image is layered using one of the nesties, (thanks Cheryl!) . Happy Thoughts is from that very set from SU: the brad is DCWV spring set.

So- did you notice the flowers in the back? I used the flower soft on them to make them pop- this stuff is so fun and easy to use. I know you are thinking (if you've not used it) sure Heidi, just like glitter it will be all over. No, really it is not! Just add a little glue, sprinkle the flower soft, tap it down and then tap the rest off back into the jar and done! It doesn't get smooshed either! It is a must. Then of course, the stickles............. a staple in every crafters box.

Have a great weekend!

BLOG CANDY ALERT: You need to go and check out the blog candy on Claudia's blog- she is giving away 6 groups of Magnolia Stamps! Yes- 6 people will win. Check it out HERE.

Safari Friends

This is one of my Little C's stamps that I got- it is a High Hopes and I used the giraffe which is also a High Hopes. I stamped the hiker and then masked him to add the giraffes. I have to tell you, the color on here is not that good to me- but I had my hubby do some research for me to come up with the colors for the giraffe. Did you realize that giraffe's legs are actually much lighter than their bodies? You would not know from my card as I didn't really have a color to blend in so I was safe. The paper is Rusty Pickle Holiday Stripe (I know you are amazed that I even know that- but it helps when they put it clearly on the back of the paper!) My base is SU mustard and the image is matted on Hunter green. I used a little twine and some brads to finish it off. The twigs are from the MS punch.

Don't forget Little C's sale, it ends today. It is for 35% off with code BDay36.

High Hopes for You!

I have been so wanting to spend more time with my High Hopes and participate in some of their challenges and have just not had time to do it so far. I was doing a little blurfing on blogs tonight and noticed they are looking for DT members so thought I would give this one a try. I had to use this sketch from Katarina which I think is a sweet sketch and I had fun using it. I left it in the direction she gave us but you could use it sideways as well. This little guy was sent to me from a friend and I just love the look on his face- reminds me of when my kids would bring me frogs or snakes (no thank you!) The yellow and greens are colors I do not use that often so that was my own personal challenge on this card. The paper is from BG cupcake paperpack- I got if from Kelly over at KLStampinNScrapping. The image is colored with copics as well!

You also need to stop over at KLSTampinNScrapping to see the new Easter Magnolia stamps that she is taking orders on- remember they are ALWAYS 10% off, what are you waiting for? They are some cuties! Here is one to tempt you!

Hope you enjoy him!

Oops- Elephant Memory

Well this started out to be a card for a challenge and then I realized that I had totally botched up the stamp BRAND so I finished the card anyways! The images are all High Hopes and I just love these jungle animals and this elephant is just tooooo sweet. I had found this paper some time ago and thought it would match well. I cut the big circle out of the front of the card and the main image is actually posted on the inside with a Happy Birthday Greeting. I colored the elephant and peanuts with my copics. Now, I also have the cutest peanut brads and I could just not figure out where to put one of them so I am going to make that a project for myself over the next couple of months- this stamp, this paper and peanut brads!
It is Sunday and it has been snowing so much lately- I believe we got probably 12-14 inches in a matter of 36 hours,, the evergreens in the front yard are fabulous to look at and the table on the porch once again looks like a birthday cake, minus the candles. Hubby says I should alter something that looks like candles and then put it in the snow on the table- that would be fun but I don't want to ruin the nice pretty snow out there. LOL!
C ya later!

For the Guys

I thought I would give you all a little break from the pinks and reds that I have been posting most recently. I have really been trying to use my, toys shall I say for lack of a better word. I had started with a sizzix and then I got the cuttlebug- well my sizzix broke and so I moved up to the Big Shot which in essence does it all (well except the cooking and laundry and I am still working on that part!). LOL. Anyhow- I found a cuttlebug blog and it has given me inspiration to use my folders and dies again. If you are feeling like me- give it a try.
So today we have some High Hopes stamps and the card is for the challenge of making a Male Card and using your cuttlebug. So I used SU DP on the top and then used the Swiss Dots Folder on the lower portion of the card. I colored my cart with my copics and added just a smidge of ribbon, just enough to NOT make it femine. I also punched out the SU photo corner from the swiss dot paper and framed my cart. I think that it turned out cute.
Have a great day ladies!

It wasn't me............

Does this little kitten look guilty or what? This is a High Hopes image that I just ordered this year and I just love him. I love cats so this is perfect for me. I colored him with my copics and mounted him on SU Real Red paper. The DP is from a stack of papers that I have decided that I need to get rid of and use up! I am such a hoarder of paper so pulled some sheets out and went to town on them. Today is a short post- I am sorry. It is very cold here and I am just dragging this week- very sleepy. I want to get some projects done this weekend for gifts for hubby work, finish up a Christmas gift and I am hoping I have the energy. So thanks for stopping in and I will try to give you a little more umph............. this weekend!

The Mega Load!

Boy, I hope that blogger can accomodate all that I need to do today. I have busy trying to make cards following some of the fun challenges out there. As I have said, I do better if I can really use someone's design or if they just tell me what to use (does that sound silly or what? ) So, this first card is for the Friday Sketchers Challenge. This week Kimmie is the sketch designer and so I used her sketch and just tweaked a few things with it. This little mouse is a Whipper Snapper I believe and I used the copics to color him in. I then used glaze for the suckers and stickles for the ice cream and the ice cream he is sitting on. I think he turned out so cute.
The next picture is for the challenge on Papertake which was to make a Christmas card. Now, I have not even thought about Christmas and as you can see I even shot the photo in the back yard with the greens. Hanna is decorating her Christmas Tree which has lots of sparkled. I paper pieced her skirt from the opposite side of the paper which is K&Co and it just isn't Christmas colors so I enjoyed that.

Are you ready for one more? Possibly two- yeah, can you believe that I have 4 to post that I have done! Yikes................ I am already having problems with the system so lets try the Spoonful of Sugar Challenge picture. It had to be a High Hopes, Sarah Kay or a couple other brands and so I chose this little guy. I got this dog because he reminds me of our dog that passed away- just love him. Anyways- I am using paper from the DCWV Blossoms and Butterflies and the SU Gable Green, added a few primas to make it a little girly. I had to change the sentiment because I always got licks from Saibo. What do you think? Ok, Saibo never had a pink collar either but well- I just had to "bling" it up some! LOL!

Okay, one last one and this is for the CuteCard Thursday challenge which I have never done before. It had to be something "In the HOuse" and well, what else do we have in the house but a cup of Java! The papers are some that were sent to me and I believe they are B.G. This is a small 3x3 card because I always need cute little note cards to give as thank yous.

I think that is all that she is going to take today ladies. Thank you so much for looking today- it has been a busy Saturday. Have an awesome weekend!

Hippo Day!

I just had to ink up this Hippo that I got from High Hopes last month, it has been sitting waiting for ink all this time! So I thought, what better time than to post it for a challenge. I used the DCWV paperpack for the background. I stamped the image and colored it with my copics, added a couple primas. Oh the prima's I found them at Mike's and they have some awesome colors, pink, red, teal and apple green! So pretty- I need them all! Then I used my treading water punch on the top. Then I had to have a cute saying and asked Jake what the hippo might be saying and this is what he chose. Hope you like him.
Thanks,
Heidi

Oh and BLOG CANDY ALERT:

Check out SHARY's blog candy! Congrats Shary on becoming a DT member.
Maya's Blog Candy too!

Sweet Edwin

I placed an order for some Magnolia stamps with a group of ladies on SCS and quess what? They arrived. I ordered on Sunday and there were by Saturday from Sweden- now I find that amazing! Anyhow- this is summer edwin and he is sitting on Tilda's mure. Well as many of you know I have boys so I tend to go with the boy images but I just loved the little brick wall and had many ideas for it. So I got Edwin to sit on it. The paper is K&Co and the ribbon is SU pumpkin striped grosgrain which is wonderful stuff! I colored Edwin partially with my SU markers and then I paper pieced his shirt to match the paper, the wall is colored with copics. I don't have enough copics to do a lot with them so I kind of mix n match.

Then I thought, I have to color another Edwin and if you recall I got some High Hopes this last week as well so I mixed them up. I used the flower border and put summer Edwin sitting amongst the flowers. I have not put him on a card yet- I have to make some card candies for a pif and thought I "might" use this as one of them. I did color him with my copics though- what do you think? I am no pro but I think it is getting better- I just need to get some more colors.
You ladies have a great week and I am going to try and post a couple times this week.

Jungle Friend

Oh my....... new rubbah ladies! I got a gift certificate from a dear friend of mine to High Hopes stamps and I was in heaven shopping for them a couple of weeks ago, it was pure torture. So, this is a couple of the stamps that I got. I stamped the giraffe in black permanent ink and then I masked it to stamp the jungle background, all on watercolor paper. Then I used my SU markers, except the pink flower and the rocks (copics). Now, you are probably thinking, Heidi, why did you put the giraffe on the left hand side and you are right! When I was plotting it I was looking at the jungle background and the tree was on the Right so I put the giraffe on the left- until I turned the stamp over to stamp the jungle and realized my mistake. So- lets just say that I did it so that I could put the little pull out tab (seen here on Claudia's blog) with the hidden message. See, subconsciously I had a plan!
I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day and this week goes by fast. I know I am ready for the weekend already. And here in Michigan we had a big frost- I covered the flowers and the sheets and plastic had ice on them this morning. Brrrrrrrr.
Take care!

Gentle Bear

Is this little bear just the cutest? This is a stamp I got from a friend, it is a HighHopes Stamp and I am really enjoying their cute style. Recognize the paper? I made these two cards with the same 12x12 sheet that I used for my Riley card yesterday. This top one is layered on Wasabi, I used my SU markers to color him in and shade him. I didn't use the watercolor b/c I had stamped on regular cardstock. Then I added a couple coordinating primas and celery satin ribbone (from Mike's $1 bin)
The second card is layered on barely banana, the card base is wasabi as well. I have a friend that is ill so I am thinking that she will like this card. I also colored him with my SU markers. Layered the praying for you on wasabi and then on the barely banana scallop circle. Hope you like these little guys and you go girls- use up those left over pieces from your 12x12 paper! I challenge you!
Speaking of challenge- remember I was telling you that I have enjoyed participating in the card sketch challenges b/c it gets me motivated and I then have a book I keep them in? Well I am going to challenge you to use of these cards as a sketch for you to make a card. It doesn't matter what image you use but just use of the samples. Then if you have a blog post here so I can check it out. Or, better yet- if you are on SCS post it there and just put keyword HHCH1 for Heidi's Happy Challenge 1. Take care girls!
