ABC Toys & Craft March Challenge- Spring!

Welcome to another ABC Toys & Craft Challenge!  I do hope that you will join us!  We are challenging you all to make Spring, Flower, or Easter cards.  How easy is that going to be?  Plus there is a prize give away too!

This card started with the Cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder.  Then I used the nestabilities flower pot die - is that not the cutest?  Topped out the little pots with a variety of MM flowers and rhinestone brads.  I know it is not warm enough here for flowers but that card sitting on my desk cheers me up!
So?  what are you waiting for- click on it and join in the fun!

Girlfriend- it's your Birthday!

Happy Monday!!
I hope you all had a great weekend and although Monday's are not my favorite day of the week I got to show you my creation for ABC Toys & Crafts.  We are still focusing on MS Punches and this week I used a couple of them.  Last week I focused on thank you cards and this week, yep- Birthday.  I love how the card turned out with the circles, rectangle, the little ledger and well it just feels good. (nothing like tootin your horn huh?)  Well at least I hope you like it some.

Now February's challenge ended but we will be starting a new one this coming weekend so don't forget to come back and join us starting Sunday!

Smiles are Welcomed

Happy Monday! We are showcasing Stampavie again this week, these sweet images are always fun to color. So I pulled out my copic markers and set to working on this card. I wanted it to be soft, subtle and pink of course! :)

To start I stamped my image with memento ink and then used copics (R22, R20, R00, G07,E25, E21). I then die cut it with Nestabilities Label One and then used the scallop circle for my sentiment. Added a few little adhesive pearls to give it a "dainty feel, just what every girl needs right?

CropStop Vintage!

Hello everyone! This week's challenge over at CropStop Challenge is "Vintage"! I would say that a year ago I wouldn't have known where to start with creating anything vintage. Now I just love it. Whether it is vintage as in 1960's or vintage as in shabby chic. Both are so much fun. I chose on this one to go with vintage 60's using the October Afternoon DSP. Again I was able to use a handful of the designs and they just blended so well.

And what else? Oh yeah,.......... spellbinders!!!! Don't forget that April is Spellbinder's month and we are encouraging you all to pull them out and use them. On this card I used 2 different circles, then the curved rectangles and the newest doily accents. I love using the different shapes together, think it adds to the vintage "ness".

Flowers and Lace

Hello! Today's card is following the CropStop Challenge which is to use lace on your card. Now this is not something that I typically would do, it just reminds me of sewing too much. Ha ha! But I do like how it looks against the Baha background. You should join us- there is a PRIZE too! Come and join us!

I love the look that I got with the Tim Holtz Texture fade Patchwork when I inked the folder up and then used white paper in it. I think that the Heartfelt Daisy's soften it up: and perfectly cut with the spellbinder exclusives. The ribbon is sheer polka dot .
********************************************************************

Now- just a little information: in April we are going to be having a Spellbinder Highlight and Haylie is going to be giving away lots of fun packages/prizes. Can you say spellbinder? Well don't forget (I will remind you!) to come and join us and use those spellbinders! And you can use my code CTHS-01 for an additional 10% OFF.

Waltzing Friends!

Welcome to Wednesday (hump day!). I hope that your week is going great and yahoo, think about it- it is almost half over! We are suppose to get an ice storm today! Uh, oh yeah, it is the middle of March! Anyways- thank you so much for stopping in.This card started with bashful blue cardstock and then the two coordinating papers are from my stash and I think it is basic grey, but I can't be sure. I just loved the browns, blues and vintage feel of it all. Of course I had to do some distressing and boy did I make a mess... I had shreds of paper all over. LOL!
The sketch for this one is from Waltzingmouse and another challenge is Simon Says: my "word" is Friend. I must say I do love this one. Have a great day!

Get Your Diva On!

Oh my gosh! I feel like it has been forever since I got to actually set down and make a card that was for a specific challenge. So this one I am making for the Get your DIVA On challenge over at Verve. The focus was to use natural colors (cream/white, black/grey/brown) with a splash of color: I chose eggplant which is a color I never use. So this card I started with a cream background which I embossed with Textile Texture folder and SU flower folder. I also used the Martha Stewart quilted border punch. And you can barely tell but there is a kraft layer as well. And there it is! I hope you all have a wonderful week!

What? So soon?

Yepper- another fall card. This one is a bit simplier than the last one or so it appears anyways. It must be that plain blue cardstock at the top. But the blue matches so well with the blue in the Daisy D paper. Then to give the card a little different look I added the small little flowers in orange, blue and white. So pretty and elegant, threw in some greens and tada- a center piece! :) I don't send alot of fall/thanksgiving cards so I thought this would be perfect for fall birthdays.

Christmas Friends

I hope all of you have full tummies and got to spend lots of wonderful times with your family. I know we did and I am stuffed to the brim........... but still looking forward to those left overs! I love them.
Today's card is another one that I made with my Penny Black Christmas set from ABC Toys and Crafts. These little critters just tickle my funny bone. I colored them with my copics after stamping the image with Memento ink. The image is of course punched with my nestabilities Label Four.
So now that Thanksgiving is over, we all need to focus on finishing up our cards and oh boy- shopping. Speaking of which- I am probably out there now! Have a great Black Friday!

Also wanted to share about some wonderful Blog Candy:

Spoil Yourself

Happy Friday all! I hope your week is going well and is coming to a nice ending........ I am hoping mine is too! So I was thinking of the weekend and the first thing I thought of was "spoiling" myself! So I pulled out my Penny Black set and got to work. I thought the paper was soothing and calming as well. I kept the card fairly simple don't you think? Add a couple colors that would help the image pop off the paper and a little border punch and done.
So where can you get this "spoiling set"? I got mine at ABC Toys and Crafts. Stop on over, Julie is having some great things going on:
1. BLOG CANDY - Fabulous tools HERE!
2. 25% off Inkadinkadoo stamps through Saturday 10/24.
Now- go and have a good weekend and SPOIL yourself!

Rejoice

Good morning all! It is Saturday and I am REJOICING again! But this card is made for the Sisters in Christ CHallenge. Those ladies have some beautiful cards over there and this week our challenge was to make a card of the earth rejoicing. In other words, I used flowers rejoicing......... and earthly image which is one of my favorite stamps sets- Upsy Daisy from SU and then some olive and apricot. The nestabilities scallop square I used as well. Simple but I think that the message is there. Stop over and join the girls!
Have a great day....... and rejoice in it!

Edwin's Day!

Hello everyone!

Today's card is one that I colored a couple of weeks ago when I was working on some shading and I thought I better use it before the end of summer or at least the feeling of summer is gone. I had used alot of earth tones so I went to my basic greys and found this paper which I thought looked earthy and masculine. I also got to use my newest nestabilities as well! I love it. I know that Kelly still has a few of these Magnolia stamps left so don't miss out on getting him.

Kelly also has brand new Basic Grey stamps coming in HERE.
She is also pre-ordering High Hopes and there are only a few stores ordering Here
Also, Kelly will be doing a DT call soon- so watch if you are interested!

Shabby Friday

Hello this fabulous Friday............. today I used my Crafty Secret set French Mail again. I am really loving this set because it is very versatile. I know I used it a couple weeks ago to make an elegant card and this week I have made a couple shabby/vintage birthday tags. I am always scrapping around to find a tag for a gift and I think these are sweet (with brown paper bag paper?) As you can see on the tag on the right I added a little shimmer to the tag by using my versamark and just tapping it on the card spiradically, then heat embossing it so it has a shimmery effect. Both of the cards have a little bit of stickles to give the heart and such a little shimmer as well.
Then I wanted to make a simple shabby birthday card.......... I wish it photographed a little better than this but after about 10 pictures I realized I am not a photographer (shock!) and well, it was not getting any better. So the card used the french script CB embossing folder, the French Mail stamp set for the swirlies and then I added a little bling. The sentiment is set on the Nestabilities label four.
So that is it for today: please don't forget the HEIDI's FRIEND discount code that you can use until September 10th over at ABC Toys and Crafts and get 15% off your order: the code is ABC15H.

A wonderful Gift

Happy Saturday and it is a beautiful one here in Michigan- holding out a little longer. The leaves are just starting to turn and the weather is cooler, crisper already. But the sun is shining. But I will move on to today's card. I made this following the Friday Sketchers sketch for this week. My image is a High Hopes and did you know that you will be able to get these over at 7kidscollegefund? Tab is taking orders- as she is kindly focusing on what you, the customer, wants her to carry. So- if you love these cute little stamps and you can't get them from high hopes anymore- you will want to stop over at 7kids.

As you can see- I put a little pocket on the inside to hide a little prize and this is what the Cute Card Thursday challenge was- this will make a sweet little gift for a little boy!
Have a great day! Heidi

Sail Away

My goal this week was to participate in the Friday Sketcher challenge but I also challenged myself to make a masculine card. You see all the feminine and sweet girlie cards and not alot of us are making the masculine- give it to your husband or dad kind of cards. So here is my take on it.

The image is a boat that I just got but it is an old PSX stamp that I stamped and cut with my nestabilities label 1. The paper- well it was in my scrap box and that is all I have.......... I have also been trying to reach into my scrap box as much as possible because it holds some beautiful paper and some of it is still 8x11! I hate having it all sit in there.

So that is it for another day- I appreciate you stopping in............ and of course comments are always welcome, tell me what you think? What you would like to see, or how you use your scraps up.

MOJO is going..........

This little sweetie will be entered in the MoJo Monday Challenge, I thought it was a interesting sketch and just had to try it out. I love this little Pixie Greta in the oval nestability and I didn't even think that she had to have a layer under her with the other papers I chose. The DSP came from a paperpack that I had which I believe was K&Co. The little paperclip which I love sending as gifts, is from making memories I do recall. I know this is a short and sweet update but busy week so this weeks will be short but I have alot to post this week- challenges are keeping me busy!

Greta Cares

Happy Sunday!
We should be getting home from vacation but I wanted to post so that it was done and I didn't have to worry about it. So Kelly sent me this sweet little CC designs Greta and is she not the sweetest (but what is it without any mouths these days?) I just love her and challenged myself again to choose a color (other than pink) that was something I do not use alot of. So I chose the neutral tones.

I stamped her in Memento tuxedo black and colored her with the copic markers that you can order from KLSNS now! I then used my nestabilities Label One and cut her out and pop her up. The DP is a Basic Grey line but it is an older line and I honestly do not know which line it is from anymore as I don't have the little book it was in. I added a couple dew drops and some prima flowers and I thought it finished it off quite nicely. The edge is done with the SU border punch as well.

Beauty in Pink

Ok, I got my new Nestabilities pendent package the day I am leaving for vacation- what is a girl to do? Well of course, one with priorities would get to work on something creative, so that is what I did! I love these litte yummies that I already got from 7kids! I can't believe it- not alot of people have them yet and she got them in and out already- thanks Tab: you are a gem!

The paper is the new Basic Grey Lemonade paper pad and it is also so yummy, the pinks and greens and the prints are just so lemonade'. LOL, if that is a word, but it is kind of like when Bittersweet came out it just makes your mouth water.

So anyways- the Renaissance Heart pendents are so easy and they pop right out without any issues. I have always used my nesties in my cuttlebug but gave the big shot a try and they worked like a dream! I embossed them and everything. The cardstock base is pretty in pink and then the base of the pendent is pink piroquette. I added a little stickles to the hearts but you can't see em well can you? Of course I had to finish it off with a heart. I was going to add a sentiment but I just thought it was too pretty and I can always add whatever I want to it later.

So? What are you waiting for- you want these now- stop over at 7kids and see what Tab still has. Tata for now!
