Otro de los mejores lugares para la observación de aves en la península ibérica (especialmente en los meses de invierno) es el Parque Natural de las Marismas de Santoña, Victoria y Joyel. Este hotspot cuenta con numerosas zonas recomendadas y habilitadas para el birdwatching (ver entrada del blog no sin mis prismáticos de Ernesto Villodas).
Another of the best places for birdwatching on the Iberian peninsula (especially in the winter months) is the Marshlands of Santoña, Victoria and Joyel Natural Park. This hotspot has numerous recommended and enabled areas for birdwatching (see link above).
Estos últimos meses he tenido la suerte de poder visitar esta zona en dos ocasiones (una con mi padre y otra con mi novia Elena), la primera de ellas en la segunda semana de octubre y la segunda en la primera de marzo. Seguramente no sean las mejores fechas para la presencia de algunas de las especies típicas invernantes, pero si para el paso migratorio y el comienzo y fin de la época de invernada.
In recent months I have been fortunate to be able to visit this area on two occasions (one with my father and the other with my girlfriend Elena), the first time in the second week of October and the second time in the first week of March. Surely they are not the best dates for the presence of some of the typical wintering species, but yes for the migratory pass and the beginning and end of the winter season.
En la primera visita recorrimos los diferentes observatorios y paseos por las marismas y en la segunda participé en la salida en barco que recorre las marismas por dentro (ver barco aves cantábricas), la cual es super recomendable. Junto con otros ornitólogos y Alejandro el guía, pudimos observar numerosas especies desde otra perspectiva a la habitual y algunas de ellas desde una distancia buena para poder fotografiarlas.
In the first visit we toured the different observatories and walks through the marshes and in the second I participated in the boat trip that goes through the marshes inside (see link above), which is highly recommended. Along with other ornithologists and Alejandro the guide, we were able to observe numerous species from another perspective than usual and some of them from a good distance to be able to photograph them.
Otro de los puntos fuertes de la zona, es su proximidad al Cabo de Ajo, uno de los mejores lugares de la cornisa cantábrica para la observación de aves marinas y pelágicas.
Another of the good things of this area is its proximity to Cabo de Ajo, one of the best places on the Cantabrian coast for observing sea and pelagic birds.
