First Fruits of Spring

The days are getting longer, the sun warmer…a desire to decorate the house with flowers, to take out the paint brushes, to change the decoration!

To rediscover in my archives some photos of a spring break in Paris which evoke the first fruits of spring.

Have a pleasant weekend...

New Year Resolutions

New Year resolutions are in order for the first part of the year!

During the day, granting oneself more little "foodie" breaks.
No sooner said than done. This weekend, I discovered the tea “étoile de neiges” flavored with orange peel and sprinkled with little silvery balls of sugar.
This accompanied by, of course, an epiphany cake.

To purify a little the decoration in the house. To install a former workshop chair metamorphosed into a useful bedside table.

To note down all my appointments in my diary, reminding me also everyday that it is important to make time for those who are near and dear.

A warm and cosy after-noon

It’s been a long time since I’ve made the most of a warm and cosy afternoon at home.

Placing in the lounge our new armchair as well as a lamp created from a former surveyor’s wooden tripod with a rumpled cotton canvas lampshade.
For their comfort and style I like to pull on some grandfather-style trousers with braces.
Have a lovely weekend!

The "Percheronne" countryside

The arrival of autumn is the right moment to discover some beautiful regions of France.

A few days in the department of Orne, enjoying travelling along the lush green country roads.
Stopping for a lunch break at "Gustave", an address considered to be an essential stop in Bellême.

Happiness for 2013

cast watering place for birds under a little snow
A few snow flakes have settled on our peaceful countryside.

I’m sending you all my best wishes for this coming year, hoping that 2013 brings you happiness, joy and love!

A big thank you for your loyalty and your comments that not only encourage me to continue with this adventure "Un Coeur en Provence" but motivate the development of my on-line magazine "e-magDECO"!

Olive Branches

I cannot resist coming back from my daily walks without branches, wild flowers or moss to decorate the house with.
This morning, a few olive branches found their way into my bag.
For lunch, a home-made basil soup with a drop of olive oil and fresh basil…just what is needed to relish the beginning of autumn!

Bag, made by "Si un mas m’était conté" and pitcher from "Côté Bastide".

Half in Jest Half in Earnest

Summer continues in the south of France and the grape harvest animates this beautiful month of September. To fill a wicker basket with fruit of the season and display them on a wicker tray found in a flea market.

To wear my pearl necklace tracked down in a car boot. To arrange the zinc watering cans, beautifully decorated in an antique child’s bed. And simply hoping for a lovely weekend.

The Déroc Waterfall

To go in search of a little fresh air in Aveyron, just for a short weekend before the summer break comes to an end.

To visit the Déroc waterfall, situated near Nasbinals, and savor the beauty and calm of this natural site, even more remarkable than Aubrac.

The Pleasures of Summer

Every morning, I step out onto the newly-paved alley just in front of the house.
Finally, there is time to carry out the decoration of our kitchen... to hang up a few recent finds on my home-made utensil carrier.

Surfing on the net... seduced by storage containers in cotton and brown paper, a 50’s inspired dustpan and a bamboo ceiling lamp.
To hang up on the terrace wall a home-made wooden star.

To follow the example of Pepsi, stay in the cool and have a rest... a Southern French habit that must surely not be neglected!

Bathed by the Sun!

In the footsteps of Manon, a few days of respite beneath the sunny skies of Saint-Tropez before the rush of holidaysmakers arrive.
At the Saturday morning market, at the square ‘Place des Lices’, courgette flowers and juicy ripe tomatoes are in abundance on the stands.

Do not forget your panama hat, a vital and timeless southern French accessory.
The sail boats are so very small next to the yachts, as they await the next edition of "Voiles Latines de Saint-Tropez" which takes place every year during the month of May.

Early in the morning, the terrace of Sénéquier awaits the arrival of its locals.
The port is decorated with blue, white and red bunting flags in preparation for the 14th July.
