Attention Miss Chloe...

Hello there

Monday mornings don't half come round quick don't they?

I recently treated myself to the Memory Box Chloe die and wanted to try it out.  I remembered that one of my Artistic Outpost stamps had a similar plant on it so made a card for a friend...

The image was actually one I found in my Snippets tin, the background Laura Ashley paper was left over from my Guernsey album and the little brown strip was also in the Snippets drawer so I am going to put it in my pannier and ride on down to the Snippets Playground on my bike.  I am a big girl now and have taken the stabilisers off!

Thanks for calling by.

Scrapbooking Tuesday - T on Tuesday - T stands for FirsT FlighT!

Hello there

Do you know what?  I totally forgot last night that today was Tuesday!!  I know!  Just smile at me sweetly and walk away - I know!

So today is still Tuesday and a day when I share a scrapbooking project and also join in with my friends over at Elizabeth's blog for a cuppa and a look at some nice stuff on T on Tuesday!

So without further ado, here is today's project and my cuppa....

Now I know I have shared some of this project before some time ago, but there is one distinct difference......it is FINISHED!!  Here is a little side on view with a better view of my cup and the layers on the album....

And here is my cup.  Another Sophie Allerton, not sure if you have seen this before?  Apologies if you have but these are my favourites!

I know Elizabeth will like to know a little of how this album came about and I do hope she approves.  The pages inside are actually made from recycled paper carrier bags in which the lunches for our partners used to arrive - six of them.  I asked the girls on our Reception at work to keep for me (the clean ones anyway) and I snipped off the handles, folded the ends over and fastened the bottoms of them using Laura Denison's "stack the deck" method of attachment.   The covers were rescued from a pile of books that were being thrown out as they were out of date.  The book they were on was very heavy so I saved four in all, one each for Lesley and I to make these books and the other two for weighing down card to which I had glued on covers so that they dry flat!

Rather than give you a blow by blow account of all the pictures and inserts, I have made a collagey thingemyjig for you to look at.  Just blow it up to get a closer look!  I would get the owner's consent before you try blowing up your puter though!

I am not going to bore you with all the details, only to tell you that there are die cuts galore, some which were sent to me, Tim Holtz, stampings, Sizzix, Cottage Crafts, Memory Box, lace, McGall, Stampin Up, Martha Stewart, Bazzill, Papermania, recycled chipboard for the birdcage, bits left over from other projects and Snippets galore.  Tee Hee!  I am skipping over to the Snippets Playground too!

I enjoyed making this book as it does hold some very happy memories of me and the Hubster in the early 90s, including my first ever flight.

Thank you for calling by.

Scrapbook Tuesday - Guernsey Album

Hello Friends

I hope you are all lucky enough to be enjoying this dry weather that we have been having lately.  Just a shame the weekends aren't very long to enjoy it.

REgulars will know that on a Tuesday I tend to share a recent layout here, however, I haven't done one this week.  However, I have been working on my album that I started last year and have not shared with you, so I will now.  It has been inspired by the albums that Laura Dennison creates but to my own specifications and design. Front cover.....

Inside front cover.... The covers were actually made from some law books which were about to be disposed of!!  Criminal!!  The slight bobbling on the front cover is where the text is embossed into the cover, but this will be covered with embellishments when I add them on.  I don't tend to put the embellishments on the cover until I have finished the book.

Some pics of a wonderful small Shell Church and Simon at the wall of Castle Cornet.  Yes that is me peaking out of the Church on the far right.....a larger version of me!!

Photos of the bay.  You can tell I have had this on the go for a while as I had just received my Sailing set of SU stamps!!
This was my first ever flight!!  1993!!
Some of you may recognise the papers as Laura Ashley which were out some years ago!!  I have also used elements from Cosmo Cricket set and bucket loads of Snippets.
And another silly one of yours truly, along with some butterflies which someone kindly sent to me!  As you may notice, I have used a mixture of photos and postcards bought from the trip.
Quite a bit more work to do but it is coming along slowly.  I have not told you but the pages are made from brown paper bags which used to hold the Partners' lunches when they were being delivered here!!  More recycling or upcycling!!

Right, I think the Playground Chicken Coop needs cleaning out and as it is such a lovely sunny afternoon, I shall volunteer to do the job.  Anyone care to join me?

Hugs

Friday Snippets - I see a trend...

Hello Peeps

It is Friday so that means I (usually) post my latest Snippets cards.  I missed last week's posting (so sowwy folks) due to life and stuff getting in the way but I have saved them for you to see this week.  So grab a coffee/tea/wine/Baileys (wish I could join you but I am on antibiotics *sad face) and then I shall begin!

I don't know if you know my blogging buddy Sandra of Stamping for Pleasure, well a few weeks ago she posted instructions to make a pop up card HERE.  Well, I couldn't resist being able to make something just that little bit different than an ordinary rectangular/square card, not that I have any objection to those, but I am known for being different! Or is that eccentric?

Well, I made this one for my friend who was poorly whilst she was on holiday in the Bahamas and during the flight home.....

(I don't know why the "Get Well Soon" on the front does not show up well, it did in real life!)
Then I made this one for my Mummy for her birthday.

And this one for my lovely friend Sandra (love that bunting punch, which you can buy through Sandra as she is Stampin Up agent - see her blog for details).
Oh! And this one for my dancing teacher and her hubby on the celebration of their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
You cannot see but it has a gold shimmer of perfect pearls mist on there!
I managed to get some bigger envelopes from eBay so I could use a larger base (6"x12") or (4"x8") or (5"x10"), depending on what size envelope I have handy.  Sorry Sandra, I don't do centimetres!

Well, you know me, I rarely cut into a whole fresh new sheet of paper to make a card so these all qualify for the Snippets Challenge over at Di's Playground.  Feel free to make something using snippets and join with us.

The sun was shining today and the forecast for the weekend is good, so if I am well enough to play tomorrow I shall see you there, but nothing too spinny or up and down-ey or I am liable to fall off at the moment!  So the go-karts better stay in their sheds!

See you for a gentle game of hide n seek!!
