Ever since I was a little girl, (believe me, that has been a long time ago!), I have always dreamed of making a quilt. My Mother made quilts and when I was small, she had a huge quilting frame set up in one room and she would quilt when she had the time. As I sat by the fireplace doing my homework, Mama would be quilting and singing or humming some of her favorite songs, In the Garden, What a Friend, Farther Along, and many others. Sometimes my DEAR Aunt Bonnie would come over and spend the day and they would quilt all day long, sometimes it would be a friend stopped by to help her quilt.
Since being introduced to blogging, my daughter Valerie has drawn my attention to many bloggers who quilt and share their knowledge. Some who come to mind at this moment is http://crazymomquilts.blogspot.com/, http://simplyquilted.blogspot.com/, http://quiltsatcs.blogspot.com/, and many many others.

What a joy it is to see the interest in making beautiful quilts! I am strictly an amateur at the sewing machine, and would love to do it all by hand, but I am going to try my luck with the sewing machine, due to carpal tunnel in my wrist.
My daughter, Valerie, (http://lifeslittlegarden.blogspot.com/) has got me so interested in doing this. She is so full of energy and so inspiring, that I just must do the best I can at this.
I found some quilt squares that I did once and there are 10 of them, along with the fabric for making more and the lining. I was pretty excited about finding those. Then I bought some pre-cut squares from Ebay, some are 4" and some are 2". They are very pretty, but I am not sure if I can use them in some of the instructions that are shown on Crazy Mom Quilts.
The pictures on this subject are of those quilt squares and the quilt blocks I already had started at another time. Also some pictures of pieces my best Friend Laverne cut for me (enough for a whole quilt top) of Sunbonnet Sue. We have started on those blocks and work on them when we get together. She does all hers by hand totally.
I just want to thank all those bloggers who are so inspiring with their handiwork, both in quilts and other sewing projects. You are all so GOOD at what you do! And so great at sharing.
Thank you!!!!! And Thank YOU, Valerie for inspiring me!
