The Dusty Attic DT - Adore

Hello Dusty Attic fans!!

Belinda here today to share my take on the gorgeous May mood board at The Dusty Attic. I really loved the sunshine yellow in the inspiration so used that as my main inspiration with touches of pink.

'Adore'

I glued the fabulous Paisley # 3 chipboard piece onto my layout and then swiped some white gesso over the background and the chipboard using a latex make-up sponge. I added some torn corrugated cardboard and then added more white gesso. Once that was dry, I swiped over some Sunshine Dusty in Colour paint.

Next I stacked on the paper layers using some old patterned papers from my stash in co-ordinating colours inspired by the mood board. There was a cute bird print on one of the patterned papers which inspired the theme of the chipboard. I even found an old journalling card in my stash with 'bird' on it.

I used the Mini Moroccan Lamps upside down as birdcages and painted them white with the gesso.

I also painted the foliage and birds white with the gesso  but once they were dry I inked them with Wild Honey Distress Oxide.

I hope you find some time to enter the mood board challenge this month and have some creative time with your Dusty Attic stash.

Flutterby Designs DT - Life Together

Hello!

Belinda here today to share a layout for FLUTTERBY DESIGNS featuring the BRAND NEW Happily Ever After collection.

This is such a fun collection and as I was searching for (embarassing) photos of my hubby and myself I realized that we just don't have enough photos of us together. I need to rectify that!

I did manage to find one of us together where I appear relatively normal but my hubby is pulling the weirdest face for some reason. It's probably because he hates being in photos so when I force him to he gets his revenge by messing them up. Little does he know these are the ones I love the best and I WILL scrap them for all to see. Revenge huh? He is an amateur. LOL

'Life Together'

I had so much fun experimenting with a beautiful rainbow of Flutter Colour paint on my background. I spritzed my cardstock quite heavily with water (yes it warps the paper but I can live with that) and also diluted the paints with water in a paint palette. I then used a soft wet paintbrush to drop the colours onto the page. If you have enough water on the page the paint will just bleed out and do its own thing. I love that. You can of course encourage it where to go using the paintbrush.

Aren't those paints just the prettiest colours? Even better they co-ordinate so perfectly with the Happily Ever After collection.

Next I had to add some stencilling with the fabulous new stencil 'All You Need Is Love'. I used white gesso for a soft look.

Then I layered up a fussy cut and the gorgeous 'Blanket Thief patterned paper from the paper pack as well as page tabs, filler cards, enamel dots and my title. I cut the 'Life' from a photo card and the little grey and white hearts from a filler photo card.

The Dusty Attic DT - Picture Perfect Life

Hello Dusty FANattics!

Belinda here today to share three layouts for May featuring stunning Dusty Attic chipboard.

'Picture Perfect Life'

For this layout, I have broken away from my love of simply altered chipboard! To perfectly co-ordinate with my background, I first coloured the Industrial Border # 3 with Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals in Aloha Avocado. Once completely dry, I then roughly inked with Distress Embossing Ink and heat set with Princess Gold embossing powder. I didn't want the whole piece to be covered in the gold as then you couldn't see that lovely green colour.

I gave those awesome Viewfinder chipboard pieces the same treatment and added them to the layout as an extension of that fabulous border.

The rest of my chipboard pieces were altered with a white Posca paint pen. It usually takes two or three coats to achieve a lovely crisp white.

'The Best Days Ever'

This layout was created as part of my design team work for The Scrapbook Store and features a whole lot of Dusty Attic chipboard. This time I have wielded my trusty white Posca Paint Pen to alter all of the chipboard. It is a great way to make your chipboard really pop when using it on quite a busy background. Better yet, it is mess free!

I have used the largest Monarch Butterfly form the set as a frame around my very small photo.

I have created my own title from Dusty Attic chipboard to suit my layout. Here I used the Best Day Ever title and added the 's' and 'the'.

Oh and you can never go wrong with any of the gorgeous foliage pieces. They are the perfect addition to flowers on your projects.

'Cherish'

For my last layout this month, I am sharing one I created for the May challenge at Kraft Plus Challenges which documents the birth of my darling son. I have kept to a colour combination of kraft, soft blue and white.

I am a big fan of a small one word title so the Mini Words # 1 suits me perfectly and lasts a long time considering I just use one word per layout!

I included a sweet sprinkling of stars across this layout including solid and frame chipboard stars as well as stamped and embossed stars.

The Geo Tags are the most perfect piece of chipboard to use on boy layouts and here I have used them to point to my son's birth date.

Well that is all from me today. I hope you are feeling inspired to create your own beautiful projects featuring Dusty Attic products. Make sure you share them in the Dusty FANattics Facebook Group. We would love to see them and leave some love.

Flutterby Designs DT - Love

Hello Flutterby peeps!!

Today I am sharing a layout for Flutterby Designs featuring the brand new soon to be released 'This is Our Happily Ever After.

I was so excited to receive my DT pack that I couldn't help but play with it straight away!

'Love'

I was immediately drawn to all of the black and white elements in the range. So i grabbed some black cardstock and placed the fabulous new 'All You Need Is Love' Stencil on it before swiping over some texture paste. Once dry, I coloured over the top of the stencilled words with a white Posca Pen to make them a more vibrant white.

How cute is that tomato image?!! I really needed that super gorgeous splash of red on my layout because red, black and white look so good together. I actually customised my tomato by changing the green leaves on top. I didn't want to add another colour to my layout so I simply cut another leafy top from one of the black and white filler cards and stuck it on top of my tomato.

I have created some layers using filler cards and photo cards as well as a square of patterned paper cut from the 12 x 12 'Blanket Thief' patterned paper. To finish, I added my photo as well as that amazing acrylic 'love' word, washi tape, a flair button and heart sticker.

I hope you like my little preview of the new coming soon collection. I can't wait to have another play now.

Oh and did you know you can pre-order the full collection kit right now on the website? The full collection kit contains one of absolutely everything in the range. Check out all of the details HERE on the website. ***PLEASE NOTE THESE ARE PRE-ORDER*** These will be shipped from 8/5/18!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today.

Have an awesome scrappy weekend!
