Round Robin - Go Green

Round Robin for March at Swirlydoos has the theme Go Green.

I had two gorgeous layouts to follow and lift.

Here is my layout:

The photo is of an old, damaged stove. We found it by an old ruined house out in the wood one day we were out for a walk. I love the colors and patina on it.

I made a large bow with a green burlap ribbon:

I think this feather, which we got in the January kit from Swirlydoos (from which kit also the papers and the button are) were great for this photo.

The theme Go Green should be shown by the color green, recycle something and using an outdoor photo. I found two old packaging that I recycled. One of them I cut in two and the one part I fussycut and used with my flowercluster:

I used som gesso with a stencil and dripped some mist around.

November Round Robin at Swirlydoos

It was my turn on team 2 to make my layout this week, following two ladies who had made two awesome layouts on this months Round Robin challenge at Swirlydoos.

I picked two photos of my niece, taken outside the castle in Oslo.

I have been digging deep in my old stuff for this page and had a lot of fun making it. For the background I used a stencil and mixed Stucco and Velvet dimensional paint from Art Anthology. Since it was a bit two pink I sprayed some white colorshine mist from Heidi Swapp on top of it. I used some gesso to make the drips around.

The butterfly from BoBunny are colored with some watered gesso.

I found a piece of burlap that I used together with cheesecloth.

I used some old stickers for journaling.

Here you can seemore of the background and as you see better on the photo under here I've used some micro beads and some half pearls around the page.

Most of the stuff used on this page have I got in kits from Swirlydoos.

June RR at Swirlydoos

This month the RR challenge at Swirlydoos is all about men/boys, and the twist is to use metal and chipboard.
I'm on team 4 and followed Kim, take a look at Swirlydoos
I found a chipboard and a stensil that matched, so I used these together.

The photo is of my DH, taken when we where walking towards Sycamore Gap (you can see the tree in the back) on Hadrians Wall in England last year.

Here you can see some of the stamping in the background.

I just had to incorporate the birds on the string and the bird from the photostrip from Bo Bunny.

April RR at Swirlydoos

This month I had week 1 in team 2 - Garden tools. The twist this month is that each team get their photo, and team 2 got a photo of garden tools.
I used the photo just as it was given to us, without any changes.
I found that the March kit - Garden Romance was great with it. Since there wasn't very much flowers in it I got into my stash and found some more, since I thought the photo asked for a lot of flowers.

The result is this layout:

The feathers came in the kit, and I thought they was great on this page.

March RR at Swirlydoos

I was the last on my team for the March Round Robin at Swirlydoos. Following som great girls lovely layouts made it easy to make a page with this months twist - flowers on the photo and use at least one homemade flower.

Some weeks ago I found my old Spelbbinders Bitty Blossom dies and used them on another page. Just after that this twist on RR came, so I knew what to flowers to make.
Last year we were to Madeira in February and I took some photos of flowers, so I looked through them and found one I wanted to use.
Just before I should start on my layout came the March kit from Swirlydoos, and with that a package of papers from Blue Fern Studio, which I had purchased extra. There I found the perfect papers for my photo. With some cardstock  from the March kit and some from my collection of papers I also had cardstock in great colors to make the flowers.

I uesd a stencil on the background dabbing gesso on it, and then used some Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst mist.

Here are a closer pic of some of the flowers. I must say I really like using these dies to make my own flowers. Earlier I have used it very rarely, but I found a great video tutorial, which showed how to make different looking flowers from the same die. It also took me step by step through how to get great flowers out of the diecuts, and I think I get it done.

Round Robin April at Swirlydoos

This month the twist is "Spring cleaning" - use at lieast 50% stuff that are at least one year old!
Yes, we all have a lot of that stuff, and I have been going through some old papers and embellishments for this page.
We are also encouraged to use some technique from one of the Swirlydoos videos, and I wanted to try something from last months kit release. You can find it here. I also used a stamping technique on the background from an earlier video, which you find here.
Since I got a new die last week I also had to try that.

I'm first out this month so here is my layout.

We took this photo last summer from the Plataumountain on Svalbard, were you have a great view over Longyear city.
The journaling tells about the name, which is taken from a man who was important for the mining there over 100 years ago.

Both the papers and most of the embellishments are from Swirlydoos July-kit 2012.
Some of the stamping are done with Silks and some with distress ink and glimmermist.

Round Robin March at Swirlydoos

This month I was the last one out on my team. The twist was to use dies.
I followed three other girls and the last one was Cheryl, who used a lot of paperstrips and they all had painted on the backgrounds. If you want to see the other pages go to Swirlydoos.
I kept the strips and only dripped paint around the page.

Here are some closeups:
Loved playing with the Prima collection of papers, cards and tags. Here is also one of the die-cuts I used.

I chose to put my title right on the photo and I used die-cuts for it.

A lot of strips and layering.

Round Robin February at Swirlydoos

New month and a new round with Round Robin at Swirlydoos. This time I'm first in my team, so yesterday was my page up. This month the theme is "warm". I decided to use some photos of the fireplace in our cottage. It's both warm and cozy to sit by the fireplace and relax after a day outdoors.

Papers and most of the embellishments are from a kit from Swirlydoos last year.

Round Robin January at Swirlydoos

This months Round Robin challenge at Swirlydoos are now in week 3. I was on in week 2 and had the honor to lift Kims great layout, which you find here.

I got my January kit some days before it was my turn and the theme this month was new, and I had a photo of my self as a little child laying on my table, so I decided to use that photo and the new kit was just right for this.

I used flowers and clock resin from this kit, mixed with wood embellishments and some butterflies:

I used a stencil and embossingpowder on the background, and then sprayed two colors of Starburst mists on it.

Here you see all the layers.

I used an old stamp from my stsh for the title "Time flies".

October Round Robin at Swirlydoos

This month I had week 3, and before me was two very good ladies, so I had a gorgeous layout to lift, this one from Robin:

This month's theme is SHADOWS.
I had to look through my photos to find one to fit and found one from our trip to Svalbard this summer. In Longyearbyen you can see over to the charachteristic mountain Hjortfjell and there you can see the shadows, here in this photo taken late one evening:

The papers are from the October kit from Swirlydoos, and so are the birdcage. It's colored with micas in gold and green.

The flowers are from earlier kits and so are the stickpin and the pearls.

I used an embossingfolder on the paper behind the photo.

A couple of swirls, made of the same blue paper as the title.

Round Robin for mai hos Swirlydoos

Denne måneden var jeg først ut på mitt lag.
Her er hva Peggy ga oss som månedens vri:
How about a bit of nature? This can be flowers, trees, water, mountains, I guess you get the idea… This can be from your own photos or you can take an image off the internet; we’d love to see some breathtaking scenery set in an even more breathtaking layout done Swirly style!!!!!

Her ser dere de to bildene nærmere:
