Hurra for Øyvind, min flotte bror :)

I've used the sketch at Basic Grey Challenges to make a birthday card for my dear brother, who turns 43 today. The paper is from the "cupcake" pattern pad, made for birthdays and celebrations and that kind of stuff :)
The hÄnglar boy is painted with Distress Ink. He's cut out to be placed at this embossed sheet I got from my dear friend Lim. And look what I found; the number 43! Sometimes you're just having luck, or what? The number is coloured with chalk and then embossed a bit. I've written my brother's name on the tag, and now I want everyone who talks English to pronounce it, loud and clear ;)
I've used the sketch for decorating the inside as well. At the tag I've written a funny text I found: "To celebrate birthdays is healthy. Statistics show that those who celebrates most birthdays, are those who live for the longest time." Says everything about the use of statistics ;)
The other side, where I will write a little greeting before we go.
The back, quite simply made.
Have a nice evening, everyone, with or without a birthday to celebrate :)

Til en venn

Forandring fryder.
This will be a quick post for a change. This card is intended as an encouragement for a friend. At Stamp Something the challenge is "something for a friend" - how easy :) and at Basic Grey Challenges we can choose between three colour combos. My choice is blue & gold/yellow/orange. I was struggling a bit to get the right colour at the scarf, but I've used 'spiced marmelade' on top of 'fired brick', and was quite satisfied with this colour.
Have a nice start of the week, everyone!

Inger sine løse tråder samlet i 3 utfordringer :)

I've decorated a little album for Inger, my sister-in-law, using Laura's sketch at 2Sketches4You. Inger likes sewing, but she seldom has time to comfort herself with quilting at the time. Therefore I made a book where she can gather up some of her loose threads; pictures, poems, drawings, cuttings... that kind of stuff :) I got the idea as I found this Penny Black stamp, and this book is definately for a girl, so I think I'll join in for the PB challenge this week as well. And finally - ta'daaa - there's a new challenge I was SO happy to find as I visited my friend Dawn; Basic Grey Challenge! I use BG papers a lot, and at this one the 'Stella Ruby' paper was just perfect. This first week the challenge is to use buttons! How suitable :)
It's a gorgeous stamp! At the one side there's a little mouse throwing buttons down, just like small kids love to do in a period of their childhood :)

At the other side three mice are helping each other with threading the sewing machine :) I've sewed the seam at the pink "stuff" with my sewing machine. Close-up from the pile of buttons, with a new kind of heart from Kort&Godt :)
And look at this brad! A sewing machine!
The plate was originally veeery white, so I painted it with acrylic paint, then sponged it with Distress Ink 'worn lipstick' and finally embossed it with white and silver powder. Have a nice day, everyone! Take care :)
