SISTERS, ST. LOUIS, AND ONE LUCKY BROTHER!

This past weekend my sisters and I took off to visit our favorite sister in law, smartest brother, and two cutest nephews in St. Louis. Although a short weekend we had an amazing time and fell in love with St. Louis. Christopher got spoiled by his aunts and we loved every minute of it. I already miss the boys and can't wait for summer to be here so that they can come visit us. Here are a few pictures to document the trip! Thanks Judd and Jackie for an amazing weekend, you were the best hosts ever!

5K ALL THE WAY!

My cute friend Lynlee asked me if I wanted to run the SLC 5k and I was like sure why not. I had a game the night before which means I get no sleep but I still had a great time. I had to succor my pride a little bit that I was only running the 5k but although short it really got me back into the racing spirit and I hope to be doing more soon. I didn't have an IPOD or watch so I was completely clueless and running to the beat of my feet. I kept leaning over to the person next to me and asking how fast they were running because I was trying to find someone that I could get paced by. Apparently everyone I asked thought I was really wierd so I would run faster and pass them all. I ended up finding my friend Ali from work and ran with her and her friend that made me run even faster. I don't know maybe I will just ditch the Garmin's and the ipods and do it all natural from here on out. Thanks Lynlee for the invite, I can't wait until the next one.

The big TRICYCLE debut!

Ok so yes it is true we own a tricycle, and I must admit it is Hank's pride and joy. He still has plans for what he is going to do with it and can't wait! We happened upon this beautiful joy just before winter started so Hank has been so anxious to get it out for a spin. He occasionaly has taken it just around our circle to test it out, but finally SUNDAY CAME and the gorgeous weather was calling the TRICYCLYE out. So right after church we threw on our clothes (yes matching, don't ask) and took it out. We are so lucky to live right next to the Provo River trail and between the TRICYCLE and Hank's sisters trusty pink bike we had a blast. I must admit I am still a little shaky but I am hoping by the end of the summer I will have mastered the TRICYCLE.

TWO TIME NCAA BRACKET CHAMPION, yep that's right me!

I work in an office of all men; they spend months planning their NCAA brackets, they research, and strategize. Then there is me! I had to be talked into filling out my bracket and completed it in five minutes with no skill whatsoever involved. I completed it by simply looking at the two teams and making the most random guess I could. Somehow I ended up with Kansas winning! The funny thing is not only was I the only one to pick Kansas but I actually did really good before then. Hank was like, "where did you come up with Kansas?" and I was like "I don't know"! Well Kansas served me well and I am now $65 richer. The best part is that I totally won by chance last year; so that makes me the TWO TIME REIGNING CHAMPION. I would be more excited but I think every guy in the office wants to kill me right now especially when I tell them I am going to spend the money on bridal shower gifts and pedicures!

INSPIRATIONAL WOMEN

Lately I have been sitting back and looking at the women in my life. Some are always around me and some I am only in aquantince with for a brief time. However, I have realized that I am surrounded by strong women that truly inspire me. Last week I had the wonderful opportunity to spend some time with the woman below in my pictures. Her name is Tara Skaggs and her husband, a former player of the Blaze, passed away unexpectedly from a brain tumor last season. As you can see in the pictures below we did a game dedicated to the celebration of Justin's life as well as retired his number with the trademark camo(he was an avid hunter). This last week I spent time getting to know Tara and she truly inspired me. She is one of the strongest women I know. She has taken on the trial of losing her young husband and being left a lone to raise her two small children. It has only been nine months since her loss, yet Tara has made the best out of the situation and has such a positive attitude. Just being around her made me want to be a better person. I didn't want to make this post sad but I did want to honor Justin as well as thank the inspiring women in my life. I really started thinking about what a strength Tara is and how I can become a strong woman like her and the other women in my life. Thank you all for being inspiring women to me!

Framed Jersey, those are my legs and polka dot shirt behind, they told me don't let you head stick out. I think I did a good job of hiding!

Retired Number 3. This will hang at all of our games!
