Snippets Gift Tag

This cross stitch parcel was another piece of holiday stitching and used snippets of perforated paper and threads - perfect for making into a gift tag with more card and paper snippets.

To make this tag I used:
     Creative Expressions 'Pierced Tags' die
Catkin & Lillie 'Mini Presents' cross stitch chart
DMC red, green and black threads
Snippets of white card, Wild Rose Studio 'Painted Poinsettia' paper and perforated paper

I attached the paper to the white card and die cut the middle size tag before embossing around the edge.  After stitching the cross stitch present I used a sharp pair of scissors to trim around the stitching and used strong tape to attach the present to the tag.  To finish, I used more oddments of the same red and green threads to attach to the top of the tag.

I am entering the following challenges:
     Allsorts - Anything Goes
As You Like It Challenge - Favourite Non-card Crafting Project (I always use recycled brown paper to wrap presents so like to make colourful tags for them - this one also has a cross stitch element which is my other favourite craft)

Final Action Time

Whilst tidying my craft drawers earlier this year I found another LOTV 'Action Time' Art Pad image (I thought I had used them all!) as it was a precoloured image it was perfect for a quick birthday card for my youngest great nephew.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white matt card blank
Lili of the Valley 'Action Time' Art Pad image

My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Oval STAX Die-namics' and Creative Expressions 'Mini Expressions - Stacked Happy Birthday' dies
Wild Rose Studio 'Man About Town' paper
Snippets of grey pearlescent card and white paper

I attached the plaid paper to a snippet of white paper to give it some strength before die cutting an oval from the left size of the panel.  The panel was layered onto a slightly larger square of grey pearlescent card before being attaching it to the card blank.  I die cut the Art Pad image with the same oval die and inlaid it into the front of the card.  I die cut the sentiment from a snippet of grey before attaching it to the lower corner of the card.

Decorative Cat

I made this card to send to Michaela for the January Card Chain Challenge.  I used the Colour Option (Walnut, Lavender & Jade) and the Theme Option (Cats & Friendship).

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white matt card blank
     Woodware 'Decorative Cat' stamp
     Versafine Vintage Sepia ink
     Faber Castell coloured pencils
     Wild Rose Studio 'Bluebell' paper
     Wink of Stella
     Snippet of white matt card

I placed a snippet of white matt card into my MISTI and stamped the cat and 'meow' with dark brown ink.  I coloured the flowers and leaves with shades of walnut, lavender and jade.  The panel was trimmed, layered onto lavender paper and attached to the card blank.  To finish I highlighted the flowers with a Wink of Stella.

Snow Family

I was so pleased when my Rudolph and Friends card was the winner of the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Sketch challenge and the team invited me to be Guest Designer of their 'Fussy Cutting' challenge.  The cute snowman stamp was one of the items in the bumper bundle of Christmas goodies I've recently won in the Snippets Playground.

To make this card I used:
     C6 white matt card blank
     Wild Rose Studio 'Snowmen' stamp
     Crafts-Too 'Twinkle' embossing folder
     Versafine Onyx Black ink
     Bruynzeel coloured pencils
     White Fun Flock
     Wink of Stella
     Snippets of white matt card

I trimmed a piece of white matt card so it was slightly smaller than the card blank and tore a strip from the bottom.  I embossed the top half of the card with the star embossing folder and attached it to the card blank.  The plain torn strip was then attached across the bottom.  I stamped the snowmen onto a snippet of white matt card and fussy cut them before colouring them with the Bruynzeel pencils.  The image was attached to the card with foam tape.  I applied white Fun Flock to the trim and bobbles on the hats and a Wink of Stella to the holly.

I am entering the following challenges:
ABC Christmas Challenge - A for Anything Goes
     Allsorts - Anything Goes
Daisy Chain Challenge - No Designer Paper
NBUS - Challenge 70 (I have used my new snowmen stamp)

Fairy on Tiptoes

Whilst tidying my oddments drawer I came across this lovely Lili of the Valley topper - perfect for the Butterfly Challenge where the fairies have come out to play.

To make this card I used:
     5" x 5" white matt card blank
Lili of the Valley 'Fairy on Tiptoes' pre-coloured topper
My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Square STAX Die-namics' die
Wild Rose Studio 'Annabelle's Meadow' paper

I trimmed a piece of blue paper so it was slightly smaller than the card blank and attached it to the front.  I then trimmed a snippet of a different blue paper and attached it to the left side of the card.  The pre-coloured topper was cut with the stitched square die and attached to the centre.

I am entering the following Challenges:

Patchwork Daisy Birthday

I made this card for my great niece's birthday - I tried to find an image that was cute but not too childish as she's a grown up ten year old!

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white matt card blank
Lili of the Valley 'Patchwork Daisy' Mini Masterpiece precoloured image
Clearly Besotted 'Modern Calligraphy' stamps and coordinating die
Lawn Fawn 'Outside In Stitched Square Stackables' die
     Versafine Imperial Purple ink
Wild Rose Studio 'Anabelle's Meadow' paper
Snippet of white matt card and white paper

I attached the pink paper to a piece of white paper (to make it the same thickness as the topper) before die cutting the stitched square from the centre.  The frame was then attached to the card.  The precoloured image was cut with the same stitched die.  I used purple ink to stamp 'happy' onto a snippet of white card before cutting it with the corodinating die.  I placed the topper into my MISTI and laid 'happy' on top so I could see where to stamp 'birthday'.  This was stamped with the same purple ink.  The topper was inlaid into the frame and 'happy' was attached with a strip of foam tape.

June Rudolph Day

It's time for another Rudolph Day and another card made with a cover gift from a magazine - which is my RD theme this year.  This card uses a 'Partridge in a Pear Tree' die that was a cover gift with a magazine a while ago, although I can't recall the title of the magazine.

I cut a snippet of white matt card into a square and die cut a stitched circle from the centre.  I attached a snippet of pale green snowflake paper behind the aperture and layered it onto dark brown pearlescent card before attaching the panel to the card blank.  I die cut the 'Partridge in a Pear Tree' from dark brown pearlescent card and attached it to the centre of the aperture.  I die cut the image again from snippets of gold mirri so I could inlay the leaves, pears and swirl on the partridge.  To finish I used a clear Gelly Roll pen to highlight the snowflakes and the eye of the partridge.

To make this card I used:
     5" x 5" white matt card blank
Immediate Media 'Partridge in a Pear Tree' die and My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics' die
Snippets of white matt card, dark brown pearlescent card, gold mirri and Wild Rose Studio 'Annabelle's Christmas' paper
Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen

True Love

This is another card I've made with a topper and paper from my oddments box

I attached the paper to a piece of thin card to ensure it was the same thickness as the topper.  I trimmed around the edge, die cut a stitched circle from the centre, rounded the corners and attached it to the centre of the card.  I die cut the precoloured image with the stitched die and inlaid it into the aperture.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white matt card
Lili of the Valley 'True Love' Art Pad
My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics die
     Woodware Corner Rounder punch
Wild Rose Studio 'Always and Forever' paper
     Snippet of thin white card

Opulent Baubles

This is another card for the Christmas Kickstart Challenge and Let's Squash It challenges using one of my favourite Christmas 'Emboss, Cut & Stamp' sets.

I embossed a piece of white card with the baubles embossing folder and trimmed around the edge so it was slightly smaller than the card blank before attaching it to the card.  The embossing folder also die cut the bauble shape.  I attached a snippet of the lemon paper to a piece of white card and stamped the bauble before embossing it with clear embossing powder.  I put the bauble into the embossing folder to use the die to cut it out.  This was then inlaid into the card front.  I stamped the bow onto a snippet of purple textured card and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I fussy cut the bow and attached it to the top of the bauble.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 4" white matt card blank
Practical Publishing 'Opulent Baubles' embossing folder and stamps
     Versafine Imperial Purple ink
     Stampendous clear embossing powder
Snippets of lemon paper, white matt card and purple textured card

To a Very Special Sister

This is the Christmas card I made for my sister - I can post it now as she doesn't read my blog!

I covered the front of the card blank with dark red holly paper, leaving a border around the edge.  I die cut the precoloured image with a stitched rectangle die, leaving enough room at the bottom of the image for the sentiment.  I placed the die cut topper into my MISTI so I could line up the two sentiment stamps before stamping them in red ink.  The topper was then attached to the left side of the card.  I die cut the heart from both dark grey mirri and dark grey pearlescent card , before attaching the mirri outline and pearlescent centre to the lower corner of the card.  To finish I highlighted the image with a Wink of Stella.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white matt card blank
Lili of the Valley ''Tis the Season' Art Pad
My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics' and Creative Expressions 'From the Heart - Female Relations' dies
Clearly Besotted 'Happy Birthday All' stamps
     Versafine Crimson Red ink
Wild Rose Studio 'Annabelle's Christmas' paper
Snippets of dark grey mirri and dark grey pearlescent card
     Wink of Stella

Congrats

I've come across another old Lili of the Valley Art Pad image and used it to make another cute baby card.

I attached pink floral paper to the front of the card and die cut a stitched circle from the centre.  I attached a piece of white card to the inside of the front.  I die cut the precoloured image with the stitched circle and inlaid it into the frame.  I stamped 'Congrats' with grey ink onto white card and then used the coordinating die to cut the sentiment and two further sentiments.  These were layered and attached to the upper corner of the image.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white matt card
Lili of the Valley Art Pad (I'm not sure of the name of the pad, possibly 'Babies' or 'Toddlers'
Clearly Besotted 'Modern Calligraphy' stamp and die
My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics' die
     Memento Gray Flannel ink
Wild Rose Studio 'Annabelle's Meadow' paper

Happy Christmas

Another quick Christmas card using snippets and die cuts from my 'box of bits'.

The paper had already been trimmed, so I layered it onto dark red pearlescent card and attached it to the card front.  I had got two die cuts in my box, so I layered them to make them stand out against the floral paper and attached the sentiment to the upper corner of the card.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white matt card blank
Creative Expressions 'Festive Collection - Stacked Happy Christmas
Wild Rose Studio 'Painted Poinsettias' paper pad
Snippets of dark red pearlescent card

Happy Birthday

I'm still working my way through my 'box of bits' and came across this sentiment that had been stamped and not used - perfect for a quick birthday card.

I attached the floral paper to a piece of white card and trimmed it so it was half an inch smaller than the card blank on all sides.  This was layered onto a piece of 1mm foam sheet before being attached to the card blank.  The sentiment had been stamped in crimson ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I used a fishtail flag die to cut it, trimmed the end and attached it across the card.

To make this card I used:
     7" x 5" white matt card blank
My Favorite Things 'Fishtail Flags' die
     Clearly Besotted 'Fancy Sayings' stamp
     Versafine Crimson Red ink
Wild Rose Studio 'Always and Forever' paper

4 Today!

I made this card for my youngest great-nephew's birthday. I can't believe he's going to be four - where has the time gone?

I trimmed the football paper, layered it onto blue card and attached it to the card blank.  I resized the digi and printed it onto white paper (as my elderly printer refuses to print on card) and die cut a square before colouring it with my Promarkers.  The image was layered onto blue card and attached to the centre.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white matt card blank
Lili of the Valley 'Football Crazy' digi stamp
Lawn Fawn 'Outside In Stitched Square Stackables' die
     Promarkers

All We Need is Each Other

A friend asked me to make an anniversary card for her husband, but only in black and greys.   As I didn't have much notice to make the card (ordered one day to post the next!) I had to us what I had got and wondered if the paper was suitable.  Thankfully my friend liked the card!

To make this quick card I trimmed the paper, layered it onto black card and attached it to the card front.  I die cut the sentiment and attached it to the card.  It actually took me longer to find the paper than it did to make the card!

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white matt card blank
     Hunkydory 'All you Need' die
Wild Rose Studio ' Wedding Bells' paper
     Black card

Thank You

I love patterned papers with bold patterns to make quick cards - this pretty paper was perfect for a 'Thank You' card.

I die cut a stitched square in the centre of the card blank and attached the paper behind the aperture.  I then added another piece of card behind the patterned paper.  I die cut the sentiment from white card and attached it above the flowers.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white hammer card blank
Lawn Fawn 'Outside In Stitched Square Stackables' and Cheery Lynn 'Thank You' dies
Wild Rose Studio 'Antique Library' paper
     White hammer card

Celebrate in Style

I'm still working my way though my 'oddments and snippets' box and came across some papers I'd trimmed but not used - perfect for making a quick card for a friend's birthday.  I had wanted to add a 'Happy Birthday' sentiment but as the card is only 5" x 5" the 'Best Wishes' sentiment looked better on the smaller card.

I layered the 'Celebrate in Style' paper onto the black paper and placed them onto the card front to see how they would fit.  I then attached the papers and trimmed around the edge of the card.  A simple stamped sentiment in the lower corner finished the card.

To make this card I used:
     5" x 5" white matt card blan
     Clearly Besotted 'Fancy Sayings' stamp
     Versafine Onyx Black ink
Wild Rose Studio 'Man About Town' papers

Thinking of You

I bought a magazine several weeks ago as I liked the fern stamp and die set which was a cover gift.  I put the magazine into Cali to read when we were away - how life can change over a few weeks!  I've emptied Cali as we're obviously not going away for several months and have found the magazine.  The stamp and die set is perfect for Darnell's new NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) challenge.

I die cut the fern from brown card and then used my MISTI to stamp the coordinating fern.  I embossed the fern with clear embossing powder and set it aside.  I trimmed the paper to make the largest square possible and layered it into brown card before putting it into my MISTI.  I placed the fern onto the card to line up the sentiment.  I removed the fern before stamping and embossing the sentiment and then attached the panel to the card.  To finish I used strong glue to attach the fern.

To make this card I used:
     5" x 5" white matt card blank
Bright Rosa 'Fern' stamp and die set
     Versafine Vintage Sepia ink
     Stampendous clear embossing powder
Snippets of brown pearlescent card and Wild Rose Studio 'Peach Blossom' paper

Christmas Birds

I came across another Lili of the Valley Art Pad image whilst tidying my snippets drawer - perfect for this quick Christmas card.

I attached a piece of red holly paper to the front of the card blank, leaving a small border around the edge.  I used the curved border die to cut and emboss a fancy edge along the right side of the precoloured image and then trimmed the panel on the other edges so it was slightly smaller than the backing paper.  I stamped the sentiment in the top corner before attaching the panel to the card front.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 4" white matt card blank
Lili of the Valley 'Winter Wonderland' Art Pad
Clearly Besotted 'Rockin' Robin' sentiment stamp
     Versafine Crimson Red ink

Lili of the Valley Christmas Card Swap

I made this card to send to Julie for the Lili of the Valley Christmas Card Swap using a lovely 'Girlie' Christmas image - I can post the card as Julie has told me she's received it.

I layered holly paper onto a square of dark red card and attached it to the card front before die cutting and embossing the precoloured image and attached it to the centre.  The small poinsettia flowers were die cut and embossed from red card and attached to the top and bottom corners.  The gold flowers were die cut from a snippet of gold holographic card and attached to the centre of the poinsettias.  To finish I added a Wink of Stella to the fur on the girl's clothing and Stickles to the snowflakes.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white card blank
Lili of the Valley 'Girlie Christmas' Art Sheet
Spellbinders Nestabilities 'Decorative Labels One', 'All Occasions Dies 'Small Poinsettia' and Memory Box 'Mini Holly Leaves' dies
