Hope and Chances Charity Kit - April 2021

The April Hope and Chances Charity Kit is being sold to support Tiggiwinkles, the world's busiest wildlife hospital.

The kit has everything to make a lovely Spring card, other than gems and foam tape.  Full instructions are included with the kit and, for once, I made the card following Christine's instructions and didn't make any changes.

The sentiment was already stamped onto the panel so I attached it to the front of the card.  I cut the oval decorative tag in half and fixed it behind the pierced tag before attaching it to the front of the card with foam tape.  The bird table and bird were than attached to the centre of the panel with foam tape.  The flowers were attached in the lower corner of the die cuts and I added small transparent shimmering dots to the centre of the flowers.

Hope and Chances Charity Kit - December 2020

The December Hope and Chances Charity Kit is being sold to support the Last Chance Animal Rescue.

The kit has everything to make a 'Thank You' card, other than adhesive and gems.  I know the 'Thank You' sentiment was in the bag from Christine, but I couldn't find it anywhere when I made the card so I decided to make a Christmas card.  I used my MISTI to stamp the sentiment (Woodware Festive Verse) into the centre of the panel using dark green ink to match the poinsettia leaves.

The centre panel was attached to the card with a piece of a foam sheet and I attached clear gems into the middle of the flowers. I didn't have any gold coloured gems, but thought the clear ones matched the silver matting layers.

I really like the instructions for the silver matt layer behind the fancy square.  The silver layer was cut down the centre so that it would form a shadow on both sides of the white layer.  I must remember that tip when matting and layering on other cards.

I also found the 'Thank You' panel after I had finished the card, although I think I prefer it with the Christmas verse.

Hope and Chances Charity Kit - October 2020

The October Hope and Chances Charity Kit is being sold to support the MNDA (Motor Neurone Disease Association).  Christine had sold out of the kits as soon as they were listed, so she made some more and I was able to buy a couple of kits for some 'special' cards this Christmas.  The new kits that were for sale didn't have the sentiments, but Di very kindly sent me a pack of Craftwork Cards sentiment which are perfect for this card.

The card was made following Christine's instructions, the only things I added were a Wink of Stella to the poinsettias and Papermania shimmering dots to the centres of the flowers.

Hope and Chances Charity Kit - June 2020

The June Hope and Chance Charity Kit is being sold to support the British Hedgehog Preservation Society.  I'm so glad I bought it as soon as it was released as it's now sold out.

The kit has everything to make the card other than adhesive, gems and coloured pencils.  I only attached one of the matt layers as I wanted to see more of the cream card around the edge (I've used the second matt layer to make some gift tags!).  I attached the check blind behind the window die cut and attached it to the card.  The window box was 3D but Christine suggested cutting the edges and laying it flat if the card is to be posted.  I did this, but found it looked too flat so I added thin strips of foam tape behind the balcony before attaching it to the window.  This gives a little dimension to the card but should also survive the postal system.  The leaves were coloured with two shades of green coloured pencils and were highlighted with a Wink of Stella.  After attaching the ivy to the balcony I added the flowers and small gems to the centres.

In hindsight I should have attached the window a little higher as the ivy covers part of the sentiment, but once it was stuck it was there to stay!

I love these card kits and can't wait to see what Christine will design for July.

Hope and Chances Charity Kit - May 2020

I hadn't heard of the Hope and Chances Charity Kits until I read Di's post when she used the March kit.  I loved the look of the May kit (which was sold to support Whizz Kids).and am so pleased I bought it as soon as it was released as it's now sold out.

The kit has everything to make the card other than adhesive, gems and coloured pencils.  I did change the card slightly as I only used one matt layer and then used the second one to stamp a different sentiment which I cut with a stitched die.  I coloured the leaves with different shades of green coloured pencils and the flowers with different shades of pink and purple.  I gave both leaves and flowers a bit of sparkle with a Wink of Stella and added clear gems to the centre of the flowers.

Each month the kits are sold to support different charities and they're available from the first Sunday of the month.
